Moon was good, but it's not even close to D9, and I haven't seen 500 Days, but since almost nothing comes close to D9, I think it's safe to say Blomkamp.

D9 was good. It started off great but it quickly turned into a different movie by mid point. At the end I was a bit disappointed. BUT there is no questioning the talent of director, Neill Blomkamp. He did an amazing job. Give him a great script and his next movie may be an Oscar contender.

lol if this doesn't turn out to be a landslide for Blomkamp
And just because i don't like rom com's very much i'll vote for Duncan Jones. Considering what his limited budget , he churned out a frikkin miracle and didn't have the support fo some big shot like Pete Jackson

I thought District 9 and Moon were both fantastic movies that were beautifully directed. 500 Days of Summer was good too, but it's not my kind of movie. But I have to give the edge to Blomkamp. He achieved so much with what he was given. Same with Duncan, but Blomkamp's movie just felt so epic to me. I couldn't believe he made that movie with the money he had.

I voted for Neil B.

Moon was pretty good but mostly because of Rockwell.

District 9: 8.5/10

Moon: 7.5/10.

Without Rockwell, Moon would have been "eh" at best. Rockwell's performance really drove the film by itself.

District 9, however, was flat out amazing. Blomkamp really showed he could get powerful performances out of untested actors and that he was adept at directing kickass action scenes. The amount of stuff he was able to pull off with such a minuscule budget is pretty mind blowing.

(500) Days of Summer is still on my must see list.

Although I preferred both 500 Days of Summer and Moon to District 9, I predict that Blomkampt is the director of the three most likely to deliver some truly stunning work in the future.

I wish I could throw a lone vote Webb's way, but he's planning a Jesus Christ Superstar remake next. Le sigh.

Wow...I had to pick all of them. I like all those films very much. Maybe District 9 had a bit more edge than the others, but MOON just had a lot going for it with me that I loved it and 500 Days...well, take a girl to see it and you get laid. That's oscar worthy in my book. lol
