Default X-Men 4 - 6 (The Second Trilogy)

For those who dont see it, X-Men is a franchise based on trilogies... And it is comparable to the star wars trilogy.

You have the original trilogy, which is x-men 1 - x-men 3
you have the prequel trilogy, which is wolverine, magneto and first class
deadpool and gambit is considered a spin off.

If we want to look at this from a nother perspective, X-Men 4 should be a the future trilogy.

The way i seen it, each x-men movie has been about idealism of what mutation means to three different people, Xavier, Magneto and Stryker

Now lets look at this from the first trilogy.

Xavier's dream was the keep the peace between humans and mutants and one day hope for a co-existing world. This theory was explored in the first movie

Stryker believed the human race was about to become exstint by mutants and wants to either control or eliminate them. we saw this in x-men 2

magneto believed the humans would strike first and that mutants are superior, we saw this in x-men 3 when he waged his war which he was wining until the x-men turned up.

-- so each of the trilogy focused on each individual ideology. --

we look at the prequel trilogy and we see the same pattern

Wolverine movie focusedo n wolverines upbringing but also showed strykers ideology of mutants

magneto movie will show magnetos ideas

and

first class will show the view from xaviers point of view.

So how does x-men 4 - 6 follow that line.

x-men 4 will need to revolve around ideology of xavier, so like xaviers dream living on beyond his death

x-men 5 will need to see how the world i.e. humans now view mutants.

x-men 6 will need to see that superior mutant thought come through only this idea is not through magneto but another mutant with more power.

--------------

Lets think about it

x4 - the x-men fight sinister? and the x-men win because they believe in carrying on xaviers dream

x5 - we introduce the hellfire club and explain how sentinals come about

x6 - apocalypse with his idealosim and power which means both thex-men and humans and probably all the people and mutants around the world unite.

4 films into the franchise (X-men films) - we got a teaser of the Sentinels - its about bloody time we get the real thing in a big 'Transformers' kick ass way.

I would also love to see a move off planet - Star Jammers and Shi-ar Empire and the Imperial Guard

But Fox will probably just serve up the same old Mutants vs Humanity angle and we will get the same story in a different package - boring - with a focus on Wolverine for a change.

I say the next takes place to take the story is with the new group of X-men led by Wolverine and Storm to face off against Mr Sinister and his group of baddies. It would be revealed that Cyclops is captured and brainwashed and that Sinister works for Apocolypse in either the fifth or sixth film. To make room for Cable, Cyclops while working for Sinister would be with Madeline Pryor and have their baby named Nathan.

X4-Humans(Gov.) launch Sentinels as a preemptive strike to prevent a serious mutant war or mutant terrorist like Magneto from rising again

X5-Cure becomes Legacy virus and Sinister anounces he has the cure on an island called Genosha-bait for mutants to exctract their DNA=host body for his dark master

X6-Apocalypse rises to launch a mutant war on all of humanity; the very thing they(humans) have been trying to prevent comes to life in the very worst way

I like your idea, but i would switch x5 with x4... it would make better sense to follow on the Cure story with it evolving into the virus...

Plus the virus would make a good reason to have the sentinals being built by Trask in X5, we could also have the hellfire club envolved and really develope the reasoning behind sinister at this point

Which would explain Apocalypse rise by x6...

Thanks,

I initially had them switched for that very reason, and recently was wondering whether to swtich 'em back... but then (in my very incomplete X4) I figured humans would be more in favor of the sentinels after the X3 war opposed to after the mutant population is hit by a plague (it'd be overkill) .... plus I had this idea where the Sentinels are illegally programmed with the MRA's and Magneto gets proof of this and uses this as a bargaining chip to gain rights to Genosha(initially in the flipped version Mags would use the fact that the Legacy Virus was the cure as the bargaining chip)... but of course the gov are watching for X5... and through this intro Sinister and his alleged cure

idea in better detail...
old idea o-mine...

Default Re: X-Men 4 - 6 (The Second Trilogy)

I can understand your reasoning. But you have to look at the ending of x-men 3 to really figure the flow of the overal story. You see Magneto's war alone would not generate such a fear with the goverment that they would want to create sentinals.

Remember the president made Dr.Hank McCoy sectrary of mutant affairs... The conclusion we had was this... The Goverment were unaware of Magneto's ploy until after he was stopped on liberty island in x1... The goverment with the aid of Stryker built a plastic prision to hold him. He escaped, the and tries to use Dark Cerebro against the humans. He is then again stopped. The threat of magneto has become more apparent... The goverment issued the cure, they issued it as a weapon... this is the extent of what fear did to humans... Sure if the cure didnt work then sentinals... But the X-Men proved that not all mutants can be feared in fact some will help... Which is why Henry was employed to manage this... So inititally there is no reason for Sentinals to appear unless there is a reason for it... something that would shake the judgement out of the president to de-elect Beast as sectuary of these kind of affairs and have the goverment build the sentinals...

Now i like your idea of Senitor Creed, but he is a playing card you need to slowly introduce... Let me explain why The Legacy Virus should come first...

Now this is what we could possibly deduct from the final of the x-men 3 gave.
1. The X-Men would of been disbanded - like in the comics many times before. Storm is now incharge of the school, which means her duties are the walfaith of the kids they teach, the whole operation of the school and the x-men. Because she wont be able to do both it is likely that the X-Men will be disbanded. Now you could argue Wolverine leads the x-men but again that would mean Wolverine leading a load of kids well young adults as an x-men team, Wolverine is a loner and the thought of leading anything would go against him. Just look how reluctant he was in the Wolverine and the X-Men cartoon he was. the fact is, By X-Men 4 we figure one thing Wolverine would of left the x-men temporarly, in otherwords he would now be wondering back and forth whilst he searches for him former life at the same time returning now and then to help out. So as far as i am aware by this point the x-men are now more.

2. With Beast in a powerful postition, it is more likely he would set up a new team "X-Factor" which would be co-run with Emma Frost - which would make sense, and the team consists of members like Iceman, Rogue and Angel - all former x-men... and possible added, Havok, Polaris and Forge... This new team would be set up because of a situation that calls for a team to help deal with a mutant threat.

3. Because the cure was the previous movie, if we were going to state that this cure is faulty you would need to explain it in X4. the whole legacy virus would fit perfectly because you could explain that because of pyro's attackes on the cure clinics the Cure leaked into the sewer mutated and infected the morlocks. With the place quarenteened, the new x-men team, X-Factor are sent to help out whilst Beast arranges for medical minds all over that specialises in mutant diseases, including Dr.Moria McTaggart, Dr.Cecial Reyes, Dr.Essex

4. With Essex brought in, his first stage of bring about the apocaylpse which is the survival of the fittest is by getting rid of the weakist... a plague would do that, but at that time there is no cure. So Essex would have a more radical approach... extermination. This would bring in the Maurders... lead by Gambit, featuring Sabretooth who has his mind back and now looks more like he did in x-men origins but with some features of his x1 look.

5. With point 5 featuring sabretooth, This would be an excellent way to torment Wolverine, because sabretooth now remembers who he is and of wolverine, Essentially Sabretooth would escape leading to wolverine leaving to chase after him to find out about his past.

6. Gambits introduction would lead to a future romance with Rogue, although he could still be played by the current actor but instead they could age him by ten years, make him look older than the actor who plays him now. Also with this storyline we also could have Rogue meet Sinister through Gambit who then restores her powers but also gives her super strength and flight...

7. Angel could lose his wings which would lead him to becoming a horseman...

8. With all of this, The Legacy virus can sway Beats potition as head of mutant affairs as a virus could go out of control... And because of this the goverment could be the forced to protect its people the human race who are defenseless... Which is why Sentinals would be ideal for X5... As part of there story.

See i have a good idea on that too. We could introduce Bishop in X5, Not as a time traveler but maybe a mutant who suddenly starts seeing visions of the future... which is all sentinal run, so forth.... He then sees visions that the sentinal run future is caused by The X-Men and the Hellfire club finds Bishop and uses his ability for there own personal gain... But in truth its the Hellfire Club who created the sentinals with the help of the goverment to provide stratigic info. The whole sentinal story and hellfire could lead to the x-men discovering more about Sinister as they try to track himdown... remember sinister was a member of the hellfire club once and Progress the story futher we could learn that sinister did this as phase two of the rise of apocalpyse. Because Bishop realises he is the cause and not the x-men, all a ploy from Emma frost who was working for hellfire the whole time. Bishop sacrifces himself to stop the sentinals from being lauchned...

This would lead to X6 - rise of apocalpyse where the four horsemen are revealed... Professor Xavier, Arch-Angel, Bishop and Sinister himself... and with Apocalpyse all war breaks out.

And this is where the ultimate team up occures... The X-Men... after the goverment issued the sentinals beast quit and returned to the xavier instatue where he and the others form the X-Men... Conisist of Beast, Storm, Rogue, Gambit, Iceman and Angel... Then X-Factor Investigations featuring... Havok, Polaris, Forge with Multiple Man, Wolfbane and Strong Guy, then Excalibar featuring Colossus, Nightcrawler, Shadow Cat with Captain Britain, Meggan and Psylocke in a new body. sort of a reverse what happend to her in the comics... her mind entered into the body of an english woman... Elizabeth Braddock instead of how it happend in the comics where elizabeth entered the body of psylocke. Then finally having the Brotherhood join the collective of Mutants joined together to stop The Apocalpyse and his horseman from taking over the world.

These are a lot of good ideas... I especially like the idea of Bishhop as the future seeing youth, I was kinda thinking that would be a good idea, it reminds me of when I was reading up on Larry Trask storyline, to tie it the comic storyline as Larry's a precognitive...

-The angle for introducing the Sentinels would be that Senator Creed, is angry at the Gov. response, he can't believe after the war they've elected a mutant to the UN as if everything is OK... he exploits the fear associated with the war in X3 (kinda like 9/11 & Muslim stereotypes) to spread negative images of mutants to get the MRA's reinstated+ Sentinels... then the cure starts to wear off and mutants who took the serum's abilities return (as hinted) but at accelerated rates... this results in dangerous outbursts of mutant abilities, thus further raising public fear and gaining Creed support for the MRA's and Sentinels---plus he causes a few incidents himself
---In X5 the cure is still accelerating the mutant's abilities, and this is taking a toll on their bodies, fatally wearing them down (cure re-deemed the Legacy Virus) Sinister and Magneto start Genosha

- plus my X4 idea would be a bit similar to your Bishop story- where Larry sees glimpses of the Sentinels- but he has no clue that his dad's making them until he goes to the demonstration with him... he warns the X-Men and ironically dies at the hands of his father's creation... plus similarly Emma joins the school, but the HFC wouldn't be mentioned until my idea for X5 where Sinister is a part of the club... where they'll be the villains as they search for the ultimate combination of DNA to create a host body for Apocalypse-X6, I was also thinking it would also be interesting to save the Legacy Virus for X5, where humans think they're immune, but in X6, which would take a much darker tone would progress to infect both mutants who never took the cure and humans through the experimentation by Sinister on the mutant Plague

-another similarity would be introducing Gambit, but he'd be a member of Magneto's Gene Nation (a band of Morlocks who Magneto baits away from Masque)
---(Team: Magneto, Unus, Gambit & Warbird) after Rogue's powers return she flees to the Morlocks and meets Gambit and a rivalry between her and a jealous Warbird starts, which ends up with the two fighting and Rogue killing her and permanently acquiring her powers

Old ideas
funny, in my earlier idea the final battle was on the streets of NY, where the Sentinels are sent to attack the Morlocks, but are intercepted by the X-Men, in the battle the streets above the Morlocks are devastated and implode, Angel's wings are crushed under the weight of the streets and he becomes a horseman

also in an earlier idea I planned for Senator Creed to have his "Friends of Humanity" hunt down and use Sabretooth (his father who was never around, and when he was abused him, then left him=his hatred) as the main test subject for the Sentinel prototype because of his healing factor

also I was going to have Moira take Xavier's new body to Masque(leader of the Morlocks) and he remolds his face to resemble Patrick Stewart's and then resumes duty as headmaster, but I think I have to much storylines for a film and thought it'd be interesting to just focus on the X-Men without Xavier until X5

plus I thought it would be cool to explore how Mystiques abilities now allow her to become more than just humans, kinda like animals, as she impersonates Gov. official Valerie Cooper and uses the resources to track down members of the Brotherhood for revenge... like Kill Bill: Mutant edition

... as you can see I have alot of jumbled ideas

Default Re: X-Men 4 - 6 (The Second Trilogy)

You have alot of good idea's just not developed well... I too thought of Senitor Creed... he's never been a senitor but i think we need someone to replace the ideas of anti-mutant in the company...

See senitors need to put all there requests towards the president. And because the president has elected henry mccoy for mutant affairs i think he is definatly going to object against sentinals. You cant even have Senitor Creed go behind the goverments back to form the Friends Of Humanity...

See with Senitor creed you need to develope his character. Firstly you need to give him a reason... you cant just have some random guy appear in x4 say yep i was there during M-Day. sat in a car on the bridge. and now im afraid of mutants and want to make giant robots... Thats pretty lame. Thats like saying oh i trippd on my shoe lace and fell over and now i want to complain about back ache to get compensation.

You need to develope Senitor Creed... We need to give Senitor Creed a chance to look like a fool, to look like his ideas are outdated. and then proven that maybe there is a need for his way of thinking...

So if we had x4 as the legacy virus, Senitor Creed could argue with the presidents idea of how to handle the outbreak, so much so he demands to work with Henry McCoy in stopping the outbreak. Senitor Creed is then responsible for bringing in Dr.Nathaniel Essex who goes on a mutant massicure, which leads to pandemonium, Henry realises that there is no trust in the goverment and leaves to rejoin the x-men. By the end of the first movie, a total 360 has happend so when we get to X5.

We have Senitor Creed in power and in charge of the sentinal programe. The Sentinal programe hugely funded by the Hellfire Club. Bishop has the visions of the future and believes the x-men are responsible for the creation of the sentinals which is somewhat true due to how the Legacy Virus situation went against them. However Bishop is the instromental key that brings down Senitor Creed, and the sentinals lead by one soldier Bastion, which is a altered verson of the robot leader in the comics.

Then by time we get to x6, we see that the world which was at war with each other now stands together to fight an even bigger threat Apocalpyse and his four horsemen.

I think if you were to develope these ideas in that way you would have a better flow and an excellent saga for your stories to be told. Alot of people want sentinals but we need a good reason for them to be there. X-Men 1-3 isnt a good enough reason for sentinals. we need something like the legacy virus go against mutant kind that forces beast out of the goverment and creed in his place.

But then thats just my idea.

yeah, my ideas are all over the place, but it'll be a while before I can sit down and write them out... I actually posted something of a start to an X4 script, but the feedback was like "good story so far... now it's starting to get cheesy" so I'm in the reworking stage

I got into it a lil bit above, but for the Sentinels, Creed's motivation in the film would've been the hatred for his dad (Sabretooth+childhood abuse/abandomnent) plus his own fear of how powerful they're becoming- now they're even in the UN, and now that the virus is wearing off and mutant abilities are reappearing ten-folds he questions the Pres. responsibility to protect his people and he agrees to a peaceful solution, Sentinels: The Gentle Giants... he figures someone desperatley needs to stop mutants and this person is himself

again Creed even at a senitor level wouldnt be able to intitate the sentinals... not at least in the x4 movie.

My suggestion to you is to switch it, i know you probably have your heart set on sentinals and creed in x4 but sometimes you have to make sacrifies to make the story work.

Trust me you write a story by going straight into the virus story, then follow x5 with the sentinals it will have a better impact.

Default Re: X-Men 4 - 6 (The Second Trilogy)

I can't find my notebook paper notes, and it's pissing me off. I'd written an entire YOUNG X-MEN prequel, 90 pages of an X4 script and about 70 pages of X5, and I can't find them, and I can't remember huge chunks of my own story, and that pisses me off even more, because it was awesome.

See what you think about what I can remember:

The story opened with what we think is a Danger Room sequence, that is then revealed to be outside the X-Mansion. Angel was basically showing off, having Iceman fire projectiles at him. His story arc was one of ego and working with teammates VS going solo.

The Cure wore off bit by bit, which created problems for Rogue, because her powers came back even stronger. She ended up involved with Gambit and the Hellfire Society.

Storywise, as the film kicked off, the X-Men were basically handling scattered bits of the disbanded Brotherhood across the globe, who kept doing minor terrorist activities and generally stirring things up.

Plenty of requisite character development. The Bobby/Rogue/Kitty triangle kept going as I tried to make it into something a bit more faithful. Rogue eventually said "screw you" to Bobby, who became something of a ladies man because Angel was one when he got established at the mansion, and Bobby felt the need to compete with him. There were some growing themes of "competition" and "survival of the fittest" type stuff, not just between them, but between Storm and Wolverine, the girls, etc. To that end, Bobby and Angel were pseudo-rivals, as were some others.

Collossus, one of my personal favorites, got ALL KINDS of development compared to the previous two movies. He and Wolverine became best buddies basically, and dealt with some issues beyond that. There was also a Colossus/Iceman/Kitty love triangle of sorts sort of layered over the Bobby/Kitty/Rogue one, because eventually Kitty grew tired of Bobby being a bit of a jerk and sought solace with Colossus (heh heh heh).

Wolverine and Storm had a lot of interaction, growing closer, both struggling with their leadership roles as the rest of the X-Men grew into young adults.

Gambit was introduced in an older, pseudo-head of the Marauders role, working for Biogeneticist for hire Nataniel Essex, who had contracted with the Hellfire Society to do genetic work for them. The Hellfire Society was basically trying to control the next step between humans and mutants on multiple fronts, politically, socially and in terms of genetic work. They had their hands in every pot and all that. Shaw and Beast had a lot of interacton, and Shaw Industries was involved in the Sentinel project even as he developed new mutant/human cloning techniques with Essex. And Emma Frost was trying to locate the remains of Jean Grey's consciousness, convinced that The Phoenix could be brought back, but it was played as if Emma just wanted to bring Scott back until the very end of the story, where it was revealed that they'd cloned both Scott and Jean, in order to use Scott to get Jean to cooperate with their wishes, once her Phoenix powers re-emerged. Emma ended up falling for Scott since she'd been immersed in his consciousness for so long.

Wolverine led the X-Men (I know, I know, I know) through the sewers and into the Hellfire tower facility, which was this immense complex that had all kinds of secret labs and soldiers and whatnot. The X-Men made a two pronged attack on the complex when they found out what was going on there (Scott, genetics work, etc)...Wolverine, Collossus, Iceman from below and and Storm, Angel and Rogue from above. Yes, Rogue could fly by this point. Long story, not terribly interesting.

Wolverine was the one to discover Cyclops was "alive" at the Hellfire compound, and there was some fairly emotional stuff here. Cyclops got to deal with "rebirth" just as Jean had, making some paralells between them even though she was dead. Cyclops began to understand her all that much more.

Cyclops was naturally distraught when he found out what had happened to Jean, mourned, and he and Logan ended up scrapping over it on Muir Island, since Wolverine, you know, killed her. The fight ended when Wolverine said "You loved her. You'd have done the same", giving at least a NOD to Cyclops potentially killing Phoenix during the Dark Phoenix Saga. Cyke ended up coming back as a co-leader for another assault/battle at the end of the movie.

At the end of the film, after a bunch of crazy stuff went down, Sinister was escaping via some sort of futuristic chopper, and Angel, after seeing Storm badly injured, pursued him alone. Angel ended up getting his wings ripped off by Sinister, who was revealed to be a mutant with some serious power, so it ended on a darker note.

And basically the film ended with Sinister preparing to take things to the next level with the Legacy Virus and Apocalypse.

Beast had a diplomatic and scientific role. Moira McTaggart was involved in some capacity.

As I recall, Xavier and Magneto didn't show up at all, though they were referenced quite a bit, and their presence was very much felt. Eventually the X-Men were drawn to a Genosha type place that Magneto had created as a refuge for mutants, and discovered Xavier there, alive, but I think that was in my X5 script after Apocalypse appeared.

The government was freaking out, wanting to create Sentinels, and had these pseudo sentinel armored humans in the interim. Trask was behind that.

That was X4. I can barely remember X5 beyond the basics. It got huge pretty quickly, with X-Factor style additions, etc.

Default Re: X-Men 4 - 6 (The Second Trilogy)

Sorry you probably not going to like my comment. But please remember i'm only saying this because i think you have some good ideas but alot of it is from a FAN perspective which Jade's your perception of telling a great story.

1. Sentinals are a highly unbelievable scenario... even for the govemernt. to come up with in order to deal with mutants. and as i said before Beast is head of mutant affairs under orders of the president, in order for anyone goverment force to even go into that area, you would need to have a fundemental reason for why beast either agreed this, or was removed from his job.

2. The Iceman/Rogue/Shadow Cat - love triangle was resolved by the end of X3 we dont need to revisit it, Personally i would just have Iceman and Rogue grow apart from each other ever since there views on having the cure differs. It would make for better effective story telling.

3. Gambit needs to be introduced in a way that make sense, just putting him in there because we want to see him and fit the story around that just doesnt work... For Example X-Men Origins: Wolverine. With Gambit, you need Sinister, you need Maurders, you need to tell the morlock massicure and have the legacy virus to blame.

4. The Cure - now im not a scientist but i know a bit about how this supposed cure can perminatly surpress a mutant gene... firstly the word surpress means holding back, and perminatly means forever. But what you got to think about is this, if we had a button you had to press and it turns a light on...But as soon as you take your finger of the button the light turns off. Now a pratical way to make that light stay on perminatly would say to stick a bit of selotape over it so its forced down... Which works right? but what happens over time. when the selotape gets old, gets weak? eventually it wont hold forever because its holding back a force that is pushing back. So in theory you cant supress something like a mutant gene forever its eventually going to stop. But lets look at it logically? How great a story is this, The so-so cure targeted at surpressing the mutant gene is now targeting the mutant gene but the cure mutates to instead of surpressing but destroying the gene and spreading... becoming a virus, a legacy virus.... See how easy that is to explain? This makes an easy transition between X-Men 3 and X-Men 4.

5. How do we get Henry McCoy out of the potition of Head of mutant affairs? Firstly the goverment would need a valid reason of fear and self preservation for the human species that comes from something the mutants had done. Now we cant say Magneto's war had done this because the outcome of magneto's war caused Henry McCoy to become head of mutant affairs because the president realised that mutants need to be delt with more effectivly within its own community.

Cyclops returning in x4 might not be such a good idea, but an idea that might be great to develope in x5 or x6 even. It all depends on commitment...If we were going to introduce Cyclops in x4, i would like to follow his developement as a person and not just moping over Jean... so i think maybe what we could do is have Cyclops alive, Sinister found him, yeah he is sad for Jean but Emma frost who is a new character in the x-men world either helping the x-men or even we could have her helping sinister. She could fall in love with Cyclops and so forth matching how it is in the comics.

What you dont want to do is overfill the story with too meny eliments, from what i can tell, you want to do this, you want to do that, blah blah blah... they wont make it a 5 hour movie now. You need to develope the story from say at maximum 5 perspectives... Maybe told by The Goverments point of view, Rogue's point of view, wolverines point of view, Sinisters point of view, and possibly Beasts point of view - once you figure all those corners your story is there.

Trust me, keep sentinals for x5 and bring legacy virus to x3... and i say this not because im a fan and want it that way round, i say this because it makes the most logical sense for story telling... think of it outside a fan world, if you were going to tell a story think of the points a mention and see how they relate so easily with what would happen if...

I'm unsure why being a fan somehow jades my perception of what is a good story.

Sentinels are indeed an incredibly hard to swallow concept. Hence me saying this:

The government was freaking out, wanting to create Sentinels, and had these pseudo sentinel armored humans in the interim. Trask was behind that.

I was going to evolve the concept of Sentinels, not just have giant robots show up out of the blue.

Beast, as I recall, was a United Nations Ambassador at the end of X3. Not the Secretary of Mutant Affairs. And it matters not, because the government made a call to weaponize the cure without Beast in X3, so it's not like he's controlling what they do.

But it was precisely because he left that the government moved in the direction of Sentinels in my storyline.

It wasn't resolved in the least. It was only really even beginning in X3, and the romantic angle between Bobby and Kitty wasn't exactly developed. I did so in my X4 script. Would Kitty just stop liking Bobby since Rogue was cured? Hardly.

There were multiple reasons in my script for them to grow apart. Rogue not wanting to kill people with her powers anymore and Bobby thinking she wasn't special anymore because she took the cure wasn't part of it, though.

Quote:
3. Gambit needs to be introduced in a way that make sense, just putting him in there because we want to see him and fit the story around that just doesnt work...
I didn't "just put him in there".

I'm iffy on why you feel this doesn't work.

He did make sense. He was one of Essex's (Sinister) mutant aides, a right hand man, and a sort of foster son character, and leader of a "film version" of the Maurauders, who were kidnapping Morlocks (basically, "underground mutants" with extreme mutations) for Sinister to experiment on to perfect the Legacy Virus, they weren't just killing them.

Quote:
For Example X-Men Origins: Wolverine. With Gambit, you need Sinister, you need Maurders, you need to tell the morlock massicure and have the legacy virus to blame.
I had all that, except that I only used the beginnings of the Legacy Virus in my X4 script.

That's certainly easy, but it's also arbitary. It's boring compared to what the Legacy Virus can be.

The cure was not permanent, as shown in X4.

Quote:
5. How do we get Henry McCoy out of the potition of Head of mutant affairs? Firstly the goverment would need a valid reason of fear and self preservation for the human species that comes from something the mutants had done.
He was already out of it by the end of X3. I continued that element.

As for the government needing a valid reason to fear mutants...you did watch X3 right?

Now we cant say Magneto's war had done this because the outcome of magneto's war caused Henry McCoy to become head of mutant affairs because the president realised that mutants need to be delt with more effectivly within its own community.

On the surface. The government, after the events of X3, would have been foolish not to plan for a potential future conflict between humans and dangerous mutants.

Quote:

Was planning on it. Actually, I did. He had a lot of great character stuff, questioning his reaction to her death the first time, questioning his leadership status, and eventually, with some soul searching and the help of Moira and Hank and the other X-Men, overcoming his doubts, his own biases, and his fears to become an even more effective leader, friend and inspiration to the younger X-Men.

I said just that about my script.

She worked for the Hellfire Society, in tandem with Sinister on his project to revive Cyclops and possibly Jean, as the script revealed later on.

Emma ended up falling for Scott since she'd been immersed in his consciousness for so long.

Quote:

The franchise is already crammed. The universe was getting bigger as of X3, and expanding on it in a different direction is hardly a bad thing. It's all in the execution.

The script was at 90 pages, and the way I had it laid out, it would have ended up about 115-120.

Two hours, give or take.

Quote:

I tell the story from every character's point of view everytime every character is onscreen. In an esemble film, I don't, when I write, believe in selecting a few main characters to spotlight their struggles, unless we're talking a solo hero movie.

The three main ideologies were:

The government (The President, Trask, advisors, etc)
The X-Men (Self explanatory)
The Hellfire Society (Sinister, Frost, Shaw and the others

There were three major perspectives. No main characters this time around, Wolverine had a slightly reduced role, etc.

The Legacy Virus angle I was using was a much, much bigger story than the government having giant robots. It was the crux of the entire franchise by the time X5 would have been completed, and the element that forced humans and mutants to truly consider their similarities and differences.

OK i can see your very passionate about your story... and every x-men fan can never see why there verson of a story is not tainted by there own wants and needs and think its a good story.

For a start are you a writer? are you in the film business?... story structure, costs and demographics all play a part in making a story. We can all real off ideas of what would make the best story. But because its just your ideas it means that if your movie was made, only you would be satisfied with it...

Its not that you got a bad idea, you have alot of good elements. But you seem intent on arguing trying to reason with every point i have made to make your story exceptable. But i havnt once seen you say... Oh yeah, good point.

A good story is a story that evolves through-out its creation...

I wrote a X-Men 4 script. believe it or not i actually am a writer for a film studio, but i havent worked on any of the big name films. I mostly work in tv but have done some film stuff. But im drifting off here.

I am a fan of x-men 4, and in my story just purely for fan fiction. I wrote a story that saw MOJO of all characters appear in it. Because quiet frankely although he is took comical for the movie world, i felt we could tell a good story with him because his principle feel. Someone who hunts mutants for entertaiment with a crowd following thought as a good idea for a story. But it jsut didnt fit at all in the story...

Through servays, collecitons of information all over one thing was apparent, i call it Factor 5, these 5 elements is what everyone. near everyone wanted to see... Legacy Virus, Sinister, Apocaylpse, Hellfire and Gambit... Now you would of thought sentinals was a number 1 thing people wanted.... its not infact 90% of X-Men fans of the film would preffer NOT to see sentinals in the story at all. and where quiet happy with the brief cameo they had in the danger room.

But from what i got from the information provided is that what fans want most is The Rise Of Apocalpyse... but told over 3 part movie.

To make Apocalpyse a reality you really need to look at films like The Mummy, The Mummy Returns. anything egpytian wise including history as we know it.

let me give you an insert... in The Mummy - when The Mummy was chasing those people for the jars. and sucking the life out of them. The Mummy created the several plagues during his rebirth... Blood/Water. fire from the skies, plague of locast, plague of bees, the undead rising again... the plagued and the sick. It was all leading up to him sucking the life out of four people then becoming the all powerful Mummy.

The same principle of story telling applies... but on a less obvious level.

For example, there would need to be a series of events that form a domino effect which leads to the apocalypse...

Firstly we would need the cause for war... usually best represented by a plague... hence why starting the new trilogy facing the Legacy virus is a good start.
Second movie needs to focus on retaliation - which is why sentinals could be incorporated in a good way because humans are defensles against the sick mutants and the only real way for them to feel safe could be by that
so by the third movie, we would have the goverment and the mutants working together when they realise they have brought upon the Apocalpyse.

If i could make a suggestion...

Put away your X4 script for a second and write a different one, at least try it the way i suggested and see how better the story slots together.

I think it's a good story because it's a good story. Not because it's just my idea. I didn't invent the Hellfire Society, the hunt for Cyclops, Sinister/The Maurauders, Apocalypse, or any of that. Other writers did, and have used them to fantastic effect.

Am I a writer? I've written scripts, I've had some fan projects made, and I've got things in the pipeline that are eventually going to be made. I'm not professional, which I consider a blessing.

I dabble.

Why you think that only I and no one else would be satisfied with an X4 that addresses the story points I wanted to use in my script, which, as you said are already the issues a lot of fans want, is beyond me.

I haven't said "Oh yeah good point" because I don't feel I needed to. You should be able to tell when I'm agreeing or disagreeing with a point you've made.

And some of your points make it apparent that you didn't even read my statements about my script thoroughly to begin with, or that you missed key elements of X3.

I agreed with you about Sentinels (good point, do I really need to say "good point" when it's obvious I agree?), and pointed out how I intended to approach the concept to get around that limitation, which is not only not completely unbelievable, but also thematically relevant to what happened in X3, the themes and story concepts I was using in X4, and at the same time, not as unbelievable as having them just show up as giant robots. The Sentinels in my scripts were going to be trial and error, and evolving.

You asked how I was going to deal with Beast, and get him out of his Mutant Affairs position, and I told you: He was already out of it at the end of X3. The movie shows us this. Unless I'm to believe that he was both the head of Mutant Affairs AND an ambassador, which I don't buy, and which wasn't expressly shown, so there's some room to work with there.

I also addressed every valid concern you had. Directly. In detail. It's not like I just ignored everything you said. I pointed out that "Yes, I understand your concerns over this element, here's how I was going to address them".

The rest of your statements is just apparently a series of statements about what you would do or what should be done (which is fine), and random assumptions that I am the type of writer who just shoves characters willy nilly into a story without regard for how they fit into the story. Didn't all my statements about arcs and development and hither and yon clue you in that this is not the case?

I'm curious about one thing you said. Why would a plague be a better cause of war than escalating tensions between humans and mutants?

Default Re: X-Men 4 - 6 (The Second Trilogy)

because there is already tension between humans and mutants that rose to the point of x-men 3, that issue has already been resolved...

I have to appologies for some of my previous posts, i did read your ideas but please dont think im getting at you. I just want to help you with your idea.

You take alot of what i say quiet literally, i dont mean that only you would like your story. what i mean is, if you build a story to your own wants and needs, yeah some may like it but you tend to find that elements that are a must is elements that need to be addressed

what you got to remember is X-Men is a very sensative subject around the fans because everyone has an ideal movie idea. non of them will be used unless your the writer director ot the next one and alot of script writers down read the forums because of the reasons i stated before. Because fan scripts are only in the eyes of the person who writes it...

Think of it this way...

10 people write different versons of the script... there ideal script... Then we take elements from each of those scripts and make 1 script. what does this do? it gives a script that pleases 10 people's idea rather than just one.

Thats why The Dark Knight, X2, Blade was all great movies purely because it went in so many directions to make just 1 script... I think one of the best examples i can give you is the Resident Evil movie...

Now if your familiar with the game you would be family with the movie and know they dont match up right... Believe it or not what Resident Evil The Movie ended up as was not how the original script was designed...

Did you know that the first resident evil movie was going to be based on Resident Evil 2? Because of the popularity of that game they felt it would make a brilliant way to introduce the story. However it was shelved because although it was a good script, it didnt explain how it all begain...

Then a second script was written around the first game, now several people wrote a verson of this one being George A Romero, and i think his script came close to being made but they still felt it laked something original...

So here comes Andersons script, a script that comes at the angle of a Umbrella employee - Alice who sees the story from her perspective....

It worked and thats what got made...

Scripts need to be re-written to find the perfect match... and the reason i have so much against fan scripts is because people are unwilling to work as a team to make one great script rather than real off there ideas and get peed off because someone else writes a script and its different from theres and you spend thread after thread arguing over small points....

So far ive seen this happen several times. not just on this forum but many

The issue of tension between humans and mutants and tension between mutants and mutants should never be resolved for good in an X-Men film. It's the core of the X-Men mythology.

How else am I take what you say, if not literally? Do you not mean what you say?

Any script is in the eyes of the person who writes it. Professional, fan, or otherwise. X3 utilized several of the ideas fans had. WOLVERINE utilized several more. Ostensibly because many of the ideas fans want to use come right out of the source material, which writers SHOULD be looking into when adapting it. So I can't agree with you that none of the ideas we want to see will happen on film unless we're in charge of the film.

Again, it seems like you're assuming that I or someone else writing a fanscript would be unwilling to compromise on anything. The reason I don't collaborate on fanscripts is that not very many people actually write and complete them.

Love to. Not really a lot of time, though.

Already collaborating on a Superman fanscript trilogy, A Batman independent film, another Batman independent film, and various plays.

I'll look at story ideas, though. Love discussing story ideas.

Would you consider working with me on writing a Longshot movie? im thinking of a horror... some alterations would be Mojo, Spiral...etc would all just be mutants on earth. Northing space wise.

I know literally nothing about Longshot beyond the fact that he works for/with Mojo and is on TV. Nothing. I'll listen to damn near any concept, though.

Ok, let me go over a little back ground with Mojo & Longshot from the comics...
> there is a universe called mojoverse where the species of that world were driven insain by transmitions from another world... probably ours. The species didnt evolve much because they couldnt stand up... no spines. There world became a television style place where they took entertainment from other peoples suffering... blah blah blah skip to the end and well he created Longshot to be a star of his show... blah blah blah escaped to our world... he met dazzler.... blah blah blah... the x-men were captured and performed for there show by force. they escape longshot was freed.... Along those lines.... it was an Alien fun filled adventure. slightly twisted...

The Ultimate comics had Mojo as a tv excutive for a reality tv show on an island where people like arcade hunted mutants... when i read this it gave me an idea about what would make a great Marvel Horror...

Here is my idea...

The Story focuses on Dazzler, a touring pop star (Up there with Britney Spears...during the early days) Dazzler or Alison Blaire as shes realy known travels with friend Lila Cheney as part of a world tour... with there body guard Guido Carosella on a tour bus across the american main land...

Upon there tour they end up in a small backwards town called Mojo'sville, the towns most famous asset is there sporting arena's for car racing, monster trucks... so forth. All owned by Mr.Addam's (Mojo) an obese business man with a twisted taste of entertaiment. Dazzler has been hired to perform her act at the shows "M-DAY" special event... although Dazzler is unaware what kind of event it is.

as the stage act occures, it becomes pretty apparent that "M-Day" is a mutant hunting reality tv show... where several captured mutants are sent out in the wild to be hunted by several human characters "Arcade, Kane...Gauntlet"

Dazzler is a mutant but its kept secrete, but she is publicly revealed at the show by accident which makes her on the run with the rest of the mutants... She is saved by Longshot who has been playing this game for some time and has been able to survive but never able to escape.

The two then join forces to try and escape that crazy town...

thats the overall theme of the story obviously there would be alot more to it... im just trying to figure out the rest.

I really want this to feel like a marvel movie but at the same time a horror movie... Bit like how blade is portrayed you know its a marvel, but you wouldnt say thats exactly how it is in the comics but the movies play out like a horror film.

see the good thing is that we can throw in so many elements from the marvel universe.

what i need is more ideas to it.
