I want Clint Eastwood, Mel Gibson or Kurt Russell to return in their respective roles so maybe not exactly a remake per se. I'll take a remake too though cause I think they are awesome characters, but I think the original ones can still return.

As much as it is painful to see, Die Hard 4.0 (better than Live Free or Die Hard) was a good movie. Even though it was PG-13. I take another one, but no more afterwards.

But please film some scenes PG-13 and R, that way no CGI blood in Unrated Cut.
Yeah, 5 movies is a good number for movies that don't have a continuous plot. I think they should stop at Indiana Jones 5 too. 5 works for some reason.

Tough question but I'll try to answer it.
Viggo Mortenssen for Dirty Harry and Snake Plissken. Eric Bana for Mad Max.
Come to think of it, Jeremy Renner might also make an interesting young, impulsive, Harry.

Ugh, a remake of Dirty Harry?

I wouldn't dare dream of it. It's one of those things I wish not to be remade. The film came around the same year as Straw Dogs and A Clockwork Orange with the controversial use of violence in films. And was partially based on the Zodiac killings. That had a relevence then and still does now that doesn't need to be retold.

That's why I originally said that I'd rather see Clint as Harry one last time than Mc Clane return, (even though I enjoyed the last one). I never mentioned the R-Word But now that you mention it, if they ever did remake it, you're right it should be set in the 70's, as an homage to the original one, but also to movies like Bullit, Freebie and the Bean etc... all those great "Loose Cannon" Cop films from that time period. What would be even better would be to have a whole new character, not Harry. Add funky soundtrack, pissed off chief of police, pimps, a serial killer, et voila !

Isn't that Shaft anyways? But if not like Shaft then thats a cool idea.

I like Will Smith to play the main character, cause it be awesome with his acting skills to seehim be a ''badass'' on screen.

I see what you mean, but I'm not really talking Blaxploitation, I'm talking Bullit, Freebie and the bean, Klute, Pelham etc... A police officer in the 70's with the appropriate music and environment. It could be Will Smith, a great underrated actor imo, but it could also be Jeremy Renner or anyone else, just as long as it is anti-establishment, not PC and it's set in the 70's.

I like the idea of doing a film in the vein of Bullit or Dirty Harry set in that time period. A new character to be created and a new story. Couuld be very cool. I'd love to do something like that.

I keep thinking of Mark Ruffulo's David Tosci character from Zodiac in a film like that. He was really great in the film.

Yeah, and his character was the inspiration for Bullit.

Why do the films have to be set in 70s why not modern times? Or 80s atleast?

Bullit had the best car chase scene ever in movies.

I have to watch the French Connection. It's On Demand for me so I'll get to it. I loved the Bullit car chase.

And gwyplaine, I believe the Tosci character served as inspiration for Harry Callahan. Even looking at the comparisons, Scorpio and Zodiac.

That'd be awesome, especially since Will liked Shaft in Fresh Prince.

MTV talked to Cop Out star Bruce Willis over the weekend and asked him about some possible sequels that might be in his future.

Willis told them, "I think we're going to do a 'Die Hard 5' next year."

The fourth film was directed by Len Wiseman and earned $383.5 million in theaters worldwide in 2007. It was made for about $110 million.

So where does he see John McClane going this time? "It's got to go worldwide. That would be my contribution to it," he said, adding that he would like to see Wiseman return to the director's chair.
