Perhaps, if Bucky is part of the USO show, they might go with a Watchmenesque adaptation of that suit. Bucky's role in the movie is really pretty wide open at this point. I'd definitely like to see something like that blue leather jacket with red gloves and a red turtleneck underneath if they he takes a more active role as Cap's partner.

I can't see them wearing costumes though, just subtle nods to the comic suits. With Bucky he might just wear a dark double buttoned tunic. It's still a military style, just out of fashion for combat gear by a good few decades.

A thought's just struck me that the Rocketeer wore a leather jacket with the same kind of button configuration:-



I wonder if Johnson has at any point seen Bucky's costume and said, ''hey - get me that Rocketeer jacket and dye it dark blue''.

Pretty much what I expected. There was no chance Johnston would embrace anything even remotely close to Bucky's costume considering how ashamed he is of Cap's costume and how embarrassed he is by it, even incorporating a slam on it and by proxy, Simon and Kirby, into the movie.

Yup, that's the style I had in mind. Personally think one side unbuttoned (as in the b&w pic) looks better. A dark blue version of that would do the job very well.

btw, Bill Campbell looks very Bucky like (well, an older version) to me as well in those pics

Watched 'Hot Tub Time Machine' two nights ago, it was the first thing i've seen Sebastian Stan in. Whilst nowhere near Cap in the acting stakes, he was quite good.

Kind of looking forward to seeing what he's like in the movie though, because if any potential sequel is gonna feature the Winter Soldier, then that's a big part that'll need a really solid performance to do it justice.

That's all I want to see. If they use the jacket, like Campbell has up in the pic above, I think it would have a nicer look if it was closer to a black color. That would be a little nod to the fans (Winter Soldier-esque look) and also keep it from looking too campy. But, the brown would work fine as well.

I just don't really see them using the blue/red combo, unless for the USO show.

FINALLY, something with Bucky! That's pretty much what I was expecting: a normal soldier with a blue jacket. I'm glad they're going the Brubaker route and having Bucky as more of a stealth/covert guy, as evident by that sniper rifle.

While I still wish they had the original Cap costume I think it's cool that Johnston seems to be paying attention to little things like the hair style Kirby gave the character of Bucky Barnes. Gives me a swell of pride as if I was one of Kirby's children. Proud the old man and the character's are being paid due diligence. Now show me the real Captain America suit.

Yeah I noticed that as well, Bucky's hairstyle is so Kirby-esque and Thor seems to pay alot of homage to Kirby's visual style as well.

They are the same age from what i've gathered from leaks. They were friends and both wanted to join the army. Bucky was originally the strong badass one. Didn't flip till after project rebirth.

Who knows but that seems to be the deal from what i've heard.

No, I mean the source material. The comics. Bucky was originally Captain America's kid sidekick in the early days of the Captain America series.
