i would hope since they admitted to the technical issues they would look at ratings for both airings and combine/view each as two separate things or something.

You know, the show has had some bad luck but this technical difficulty thing really takes the cake! Sometimes I wonder if the legendary Parker's luck is in full swing!

That Parker luck thing has always been bull. As Johnny Storm referred to it. It's really a pain having various beautiful women fighting over you.

I dunno... you think we want to make ourselves out to be kitten killing monsters? And would Marvel and Disney be persuaded by the possibility of dead kittens?

They´d be afraid of bad publicity methinks. Puppies and kittens score high with their demographics.

To everybody who think or want a third season to happen, you people don't realize that even if the show made it to a third season, there is no guarantee that Greg Weisman and his staff will be in charge of next season's Spectacular Spider-Man! This is what a lot of fans forget about. Do you people actually think that Disney/Marvel is going to let Weisman and his staff be in charge next season? Of course not! The more likely scenario is that Disney/Marvel will put who THEY want in charge like Christopher Yost (of Wolverine and the X-Men fame) or a "yes man" in charge next season and there's nothing that Weisman can do about it! And these people probably have different ideas about what direction they would take Spider-Man in! This is why it's most likely that they will start over again from scratch next season! So thus I guarantee you that even if the Spectacular Spider-Man makes it to a third season, it will be a completely different show from the first two seasons because Disney/Marvel wants to put their guys in charge, so they can have the show go in the direction THEY want it to go in regardless of what you people want. So if you people think that next seasons Spider-Man will be the same as the first two seasons, think again! Spider-Man will (most likely) be a completely different show next season wether they continue it from the "Final Curtain" episode or not! And that's something people like you and Greg Weisman have to accept.

Yes. It would make no sense to remove Greg Weisman and his crew from this show. SSM is so good exactly because of them! And it's not like they're doing something with this show that Marvel will frown at, I think.

Though, in all honesty, I have (very) little faith in the common sense of the suits. The fact that this show is still on the chopping block proves why.

Yeah, this is very frustrating and I cant imagine whats going on in Greg Weisman's head. For God' sake, renew the show already!

You know, i hate to admit it but animoured might have a point. I mean, at this point its painfully obvious that Disney/Marvel is stalling for some unknown reason. It might be possible that they're trying to replace the Spectacular crew altogether. Yes, it would make no sense, but these corporate executives are shady and stubborn people. It would not surprise me if thats what they're doing.

Where were you guys when this paranoid psychopath was mucking up the works in the "Get ready for the hour-long Spectacular Spider-Man second season finale!" Topic? And Kguillou do not buy into that load of crap. They're not stalling for ANY good reason at all, its simply because the Disney/Marvel mesh has gotten them swamped and they do not have time to talk of the show's renewal. Give them 5 minutes with Final Curtain they'd have no LEGITIMATE reason to cancel the show.

Let's not forget that Greg has already worked on Disney's Gargoyles and considering his huge success with that series I don't see any reason why Disney wouldn't want to work with him again. On the other hand, with the news that Greg is writing and Amazing Spider-man issue for February 2010 and the positive words in the solicitation for that issue, I believe that Marvel is also a fan of Greg's work. So no need to worry boys!

yea another thing folks also got to remember the whole disney/marvel merger is still an on going process, and then with sony tv releasing the rights to spidey on tv and now its back in marvel hands. There is alot of factors in play. Sure there is a chance if the show is picked up they could go with a new crew but i would think they would ask back as much of the crew that is/able to return to come back. Now if they stay or leave is really up to what they are able to do and not do compared to being under sony's control and now marvel/disney. But since the disney airings didnt change a thing. I am sure disney is fine with the direction the show has and wouldnt change anything besides the standard S&P broadcasting rules.

And honestly Disney would be just downright plain insane to replace someone like Greg with Christopher Yost! I haven’t been even remotely interested in whatever Yost has been involved in up to now and I don’t understand why he is so hot in the eyes of Marvel

He's hot in the eyes of Marvel because his work sells and it sell well. Sure some people might not like him, but the majority of the people do.

And the Disney/Marvel merger could be a huge reason. I haven't paid close attention to the behind the scenes deals going on. But they could be waiting until the deal is final one way or another before they make any announcement. Perhaps with the show being on Disney XD, it could be a bigger decision that it would be normally.

yea that is what i been saying too with the whole sony giving marvel the tv rights back, and the merger with disney there is alot of business end things that need to be worked out with. Before they got on to other aspects like tv shows, the comics, and films.

I know that this is not related to this thread but according to Animated Superheroes, animator/storyboard artist Sahin Ersoz's webpage has uploaded a few animatics of his storyboards from his work on Spectacular Spider-Man. See for yourselves! they are great!
