He and Oprah are going to escape on a spaceship. That's why she's quitting in 2011.

But with all of the self-righteous, overweight housewives gone, who will do her bidding?

Jeter is SI's sportsman of the year. Uh...why? Here are some good quotes Sports Illustrated Group editor Terry McDonell certainly thinks he has. "This verifies my idea that he is on the level of Ruth and Gehrig," McDonell said. "He's the greatest shortstop in the history of the game." He's not on Ruth or Gehrig's level. Ruth is one of the top 3 players of all time. Gehrig is the best 1B ever. Honus Wagner is the best SS ever and Jeter isn't even close. "He's so classy," McDonell said. "He brings a dignity and elegance to the game." "It's about the manner of the striving and the quality of the effort, too," McDonell said. "Off the field he has grown so much as a member of the community." McDonell was impressed by Jeter's leadership, how he "stepped in and molded a team" I hope McDonell remembered to wipe Jeter's jizz of his face before he was interviewed. |

Wow. That's some serious sucking-up.
"It's about the manner of the striving and the quality of the effort, too," McDonell said. "Off the field he has grown so much as a member of the community." You mean like when he built the biggest house in Florida and wanted to put a gigantic wall around it? That's what I think about when I hear the word "community." I don't know, Jeter is really the only Yankee I can stand, but the man-love for him is pretty damn excessive.

Spidey, I'm surprised you're not celebrating yet. Alex Cora, Henry Blanco, and Chris Coste all in one day? Now that's just super.

Hopefully they realize Coste and Blanco are better than Bengie Molina.

You're right. Hopefully Molina accepts arbitration and stays with the Giants. Him and Failcoeur at the bottom of the lineup..........

That would be a pretty nasty OBP string in the lineup. Reyes could expect to finish with about 30 RBIs...

Chip Carey is clearly the big news of the day. The Mets re-signing Cora is not.

He hates baseball and doesn't watch any games he doesn't work on. He just does it b/c it requires no hard work and he can keep the gig because his dad was a good broadcaster.
