Default Star Trek: The Final Frontier ~ Season I OOC Thread

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

The year is 2389, and much has changed in the galaxy.

After the Federation's help in stopping the Reman rebel, Shinzon, and saving the Romulan Empire, a new accord was reached between the two former enemies. The Romulan High Council and the United Federation of Planets agreed to try and put an end to hostilities, beginning with allowing trade between the two cultures. Captain William T. Riker, of the USS Titan, has spearheaded the talks between the two people and was the first Federation officer to set foot on the new Federation Embassy on Romulus. Although not officially the ambassador, Riker remains the most respected Federation personality in the Romulan Empire, and is the Federation's main spokesperson to Romulus.
Though, in the year 2387, a great tragedy struck the Romulan Star Empire when the star of Romulus' system went nova and obliterated the Romulan homeworld. With help from the Federation, the Romulans were able to evacuate many from the planet before it's destruction. Even still, millions of lives were lost in the catastrophic event.

The Klingon Empire, under the leadership of the aging High Chancellor Martok, has been vocally against this new partnership. While maintaining their alliance with the Federation, the Klingons have slowly drawn back into a reclusive shell, leading some in the Federation to believe that the warrior race may once more return to it's old ways of conquest and war. The Klingon's Supreme General, and former Federation Ambassador, Worf, is torn between his past with the Federation and his new life among his people. Though he still has many ties to the United Federation of Planets, Worf will do what is necessary to protect the Empire's honor and it's people, even if it means going to war with old friends.

After their heavy losses at the end of the Dominion War, the Cardassians have become a fraction of what they once were. Over 800 million lives were lost on Cardassia alone, and the once proud people, staring uncertainty in the face, have been forced to seek aid from the Federation and Klingon Empire. With the tensions growing between the Federation and the Klingons, the Cardassians have remained neutral as they quietly keep a sharp eye on how those tensions evolve. They know that one day, they may be forced to take a side, so they are secretly rebuilding their defenses and armada to prepare for that day.

The Dominion still remains at peace with the races and factions of the Alpha Quadrant, but it is a shaky peace as there remains many on both sides who still are bitter and resentful of the other after the end of the Dominion War. The Dominion's presence in the Alpha Quadrant is relegated to a single embassy on the space station, DS-9, with their empire in the Gamma Quadrant still intact. Former DS-9 security chief Odo, after having rejoined his fellow Changelings, has been the one trying desperately to keep the peace between the Federation and the Dominion, and has finally convinced his fellow Founders to allow a United Federation of Planets delegation into the Gamma Quadrant to dissuade their fears of another Dominion attack.

The Borg have remained largely hidden in the Delta Quadrant, but many believe it is only a matter of time before the race once again finds it's way back to the Alpha Quadrant, and once more attempts to assimilate the galaxy. A small Borg faction, led by the Borg known as Hugh, resides on a remote planet in the Alpha Quadrant, and is no longer one with the Collective. Unlike the rest of their race, these Borgs prize their individuality, and, in the year 2387, they were permitted entrance into the United Federation of Planets, with the blessings of Captain Data, who was brought back by Geordi La Forge by downloading Data's memories into the body of the prototype android, B-4.
Hugh and the Borg do not assimilate other species like their counterparts do. Instead, with the help of their liaison, Data, they have spent their time liberating drones from the Borg Collective, making them hated traitors in the eyes of the Borg Queen and their species.

With this being a perilous time for the Federation, Admiral Jean Luc-Picard, with the approval of Starfleet Command, has ordered the commission of a new line of star ships, having a personal hand in the creation of a brand new USS Enterprise. The brand new Enterprise (NCC-1701-F) is the most advanced ship in the Federation, and is the first Federation ship to legally use cloaking technology after a new treaty was reached with the Romulans, nullifying the Federation's cloaking ban from the Treaty of Algeron. Being a high ranking and influential official in the Federation, Admiral Picard has personally set out to hand pick the crew of this new Enterprise from some of the finest officers in all of Star Fleet.

RULES
  • Characters in this game may be either user created, or a pre-existing character.
  • Created characters must make sense and be original. Any created character that is found to be too much like an existing character will NOT be approved.
  • If you are playing an alien, stay true to the mindset and general culture of that race. So do you're homework before selecting an alien race to play as.
  • Unnamed, faceless NPC's may be killed, provided it's not random and has some purpose behind it. PC character deaths must be more than just some random death, and must have meaning behind it other than shock. Major NPC characters are off limits.
  • Constructive criticism of posts can be given, but don't be an ******* about it and openly criticize another's work. We're not all as gifted as Roddenberry, or as skilled a writer as Peter David.
  • Communication is the one word to live by for all the RPGs. Good communication between players not only helps the flow of the arc and increases the enjoyment of the storytelling process, but it also helps create new twists and ideas that can make for some memorable stories.
  • For now, all characters must be crewmen of the new Enterprise. If the game generates enough interest, other options can be opened up, but, in order to make sure the game survives, for now it's strictly the Federation's flagship.
  • You are your character, so act like it. Talk like them, use their dialouge. Do not exaggerate your abilities, or mannerisms. BE Your character.
  • Several stories can be going at once, and you have the freedom to interact with other characters.
  • You must post at least once every two weeks, though it is preferred that you post more. If you go two weeks without a post without prior notice, your character is up for grabs.
  • Know your weaknesses and strengths of your character, and your craft (a Ferengi bartender is not going to win a straight fight against a Klingon warrior, for instance. But, if he had friends of a phaser he just might survive).
  • The Gamemasters have the final say in matters in the RPG. You may not always like their judgment, but that's life. Arguing about it is not only pointless, but does absolutely nothing to help your cause. Just man the **** up and move on.
  • There should be minimal cursing and swearing in posts.
  • There will be NO bypassing of the Hype! censor. This is a Hype! rule and no exceptions will be made.
  • People who disobey these rules, some more major than others, will get booted from the RPG by the Gamemasters. Further problems will cause the Hype! Mods to get involved and lead to bannings and possibly worse.

Character Name: Captain Johnathan Rourke

Race (Human, Ferengi, Klingon, Romulan, Bajoran, etc): Human

Rank and Position (First Officer, Doctor, Security Chief, Bartender, etc): Captain

Brief Back Story on Your Character: Born in Dublin on Earth, Johnathan Rourke is a third generation Starfleet officer, following in both his father's, and grandfather's, footsteps. Pressured by his father, Admiral Brennan Rourke, John enlisted into Starfleet as soon as he came of age. His first year in the Academy was anything but fun though, as he tried too hard to live up to his family's expectations and found himself ranking at the bottom of his class. Distraught and doubting whether he even made the right decision, John was on the verge of dropping out.

But the deteriorating health of his grandfather, a retired Admiral and former member of Starfleet Command, forced him to take a leave of absence before his second year began. On his death bed, John's grandfather talked with him about the pressures of the academy, trying to help him ease the tensions he felt. Telling him not to worry about the bar others were setting for him and to just concentrate on his own expectations and doing right by his fellow officers. His grandfather died days after, but his final words to John worked. Cadet Rourke returned to the Academy and immediately began to advance to the top of his class, proving to possess the raw talents of a natural leader.

John eventually graduated with honors and was assigned duty on board the Orion as an ensign. The ship was sent into Romulan space as part of Captain Riker's star ship group tasked to be the first Federation envoy to Romulus. Riker's ship, the Titan, along with the Orion and the Alabama, were sent to help improve on the fledgling Romulan/Federation peace after the Battle of the Bassen Rift.

There, part of the Federation's first envoy into Romulan space, Johnathan learned as much as he could about Romulan culture. He immersed himself in their history and ways, taking the old axiom of knowledge is power to heart. He learned first hand of Romulan bravery and tenacity as they battled alongside each other against the Reman rebels that sprang up after Shinzon's death. John distinguished himself for his heroism and ingenuity in years that followed, and made a name for himself when he helped orchestrate his captain's rescue from Reman insurgents after both the first and second officer were killed in the initial firefight.

Johnathan was promoted to lieutenant, and served with distinction on board the Orion until the year 2385, when he was promoted to the rank of commander and transferred to the Titan. Serving under the command of William T. Riker, John learned much in the ways of captaining a starship, eventually becoming Captain Riker's first officer in the year 2388. Always handy in a fight, Johnathan was loved by his shipmates as he proved time and again that he would always have their back, even in the most deadly of situations.

Now, on the verge of the new Federation fleet's launch, a cryptic message has sent to the Titan from Star Fleet Command, ordering John to return to McKinley Station orbiting Earth in seven days. Captain Riker told John that he will not permit him to travel via the common Federation transport. Riker insisted that he take Johnathan there personally, and seems to know more about the orders than what he's letting on.

Leaving the Orion and Alabama behind, the Titan has taken off for Earth at maximum warp, and should be arriving very soon...

Character Personality (list a brief description of their traits, morals, etc): Despite coming from a well known Federation lineage, John has a humble air about him, and is never one to turn down advice from any officer in his crew. Cunning and courageous, John is not afraid to put himself in harm's way to help his fellows. Taught to be a leader at an early age by his father, Johnathan is cool under pressure and is able to make the quick, hard choices a captain needs to be able to make. Serving under and learning from Captain William T. Riker certainly helped hone his command skills even further, and taught him the value of improvisation and unconventional thinking to solve a problem.

When not in the thick of it, John enjoys spending his time with his crewmen, whether it be on ten forward or the holodeck. When spending his free time alone, John enjoys playing his acoustic guitar, as it helps him to clear his head, and is prone to watching old holo-programs of the old 20th century sport of American Football.

Description of Your Character's Appearance (or simply post a picture if you're able): For his looks, I was thinking like a young Dennis Quaid.

Color and Font of Your Character's Speech: Red, Bold, Palatino Linotype

What Can You Bring To This Game: Experience in RPing.

How Often Do You Plan on Posting in a Week For This Game: As many as need be, life permiting.

Sample Post (Must be at least 4 paragraphs long and contain two lines of dialogue from your character):

"So, Commander", Riker asked, "are you ready?"

Rourke stood on the transporter pad, awaiting to beam onto the McKinley Station. The captain had his hands clasped behind his back as the transport officer readied to send Johnathan on his way.

"Yes, sir", Johnathan nodded.
"But I'd still like to know what this is about, sir. Am I in some kind of trouble? Is this an inquery of some kind?"

"Ready to go when you are, sir", the transporter operator interrupted.

"Mr. Rourke, you've been under my command since the beginning of this Romulan experiment. You've shown your dedication and drive in how quickly you've rose through the ranks during your tenure here. Truly, you have been one of my best officers."

"I hate to lose you"
, he finished with a smirk.

"Lose me, sir? I afraid I don't understand."

"Don't worry, John", Riker smiled.
"You will soon enough. Goodbye, Mr. Rourke. And congratulations."

"Oh...tell him I said "hello", will you?"

"Tell who you said hello-"

John's words were cut off as Captain Riker activated the transporter, and he found himself inside McKinley Station.

"Hello, sir", a lovely Bajoran lieutenant greeted him upon his arrival.
"I am to escort you to conference room six."

"Of course", John smiled.
"Lead the way", he said as he gestured with a wave of his hand.

The woman led Rourke down the halls of McKinley Station, eventually coming up to the door to the conference room.

"The admiral is inside waiting for you, sir", she said with a look to the door.

"Admiral? What's going on, Lieutenant?"

"I'm not at liberty to say, sir."

John gave the woman a look, trying to get some kind of read, but eventually let out a long sigh and gave it up.

Re: Star Trek: The Final Frontier ~ Season I OOC Thread

Character Name: Senior Chief Petty Officer Tarkon "The Purple Death" Amoni

Race (Human, Ferengi, Klingon, Romulan, Bajoran, etc): Andorian

Rank and Position (First Officer, Doctor, Security Chief, Bartender, etc): Senior Chief Petty Officer, Operations Division, Security Officer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. Formerly held the rang of Sergent in the Starfleet Marine Corps (transfered his commission to the main service roughy five years ago).

Brief Back Story on Your Character: Born on a mostly Andorian Federation colony on the edges of the Beta Quadrant, Tarkon was the youngest son of a mining family. His father, who now ran the mining operation with Tarkon's uncle, and Tarkon's four older brothers had all served in Starfleet during wartime, his father during the Border Wars and his brothers during the Tzenkethi conflict. Much of his youth was spent helping the family business, and limited energy supplies weakened the colony financially. To escape from boredom, he had a knack for getting himself into trouble. Upon turning eighteen, he enlisted in Starfleet. His early career was mostly uneventful, working security at a military base and later on a starship. He got his first real taste of action during the Dominion War. Because of the great need for ground troops during the massive conflict, Starfleet recommissioned the previously defunct Starfleet Marine Corps, and Tarkon was one of the first to sign up. After going through basic training at the camp on Andoria, he went right into battle. He showed remarkable skill, especially in marksmanship, and was recruited as a sniper for a special forces team. During a mission to protect a group of civilian farmers on a colony world, the team found themselves facing a siege as Jem'Hadar ground forces landed on the planet, and over 1,000 soldiers set up camp not ten kilometers from the small farming town. Dressing himself in purple to match the foliage, Tarkon set himself up in the treetops awaiting the enemy. The siege of the lasted 100 days before the enemy withdrew from the area. Tarkon was instrumental to the defense and over those 100 days personally killed over 700 Jem'Hadar, only being shot himself once, earning him the nickname "The Purple Death". Later, on a long term mission deep within enemy territory, Tarkon's squad was cut of from the fleet and the squad leader was killed. Tarkon took up command, and personally led his team in a guerilla campaign against the Dominion. His team was responsible for the assassination of twelve Dominion military and political officials, including one Founder. After the war, he was awarded the Christopher Pike Medal of Valor. He spent the next five years in the Marines, working peacekeeping missions on Cardasia Prime
and on a few colony worlds, before transferring his commission to the regular service, as he wanted his career to be more relaxed. However, he specifically requested to work security on The Enterprise, because he didn't want it to be too relaxed.

Character Personality (list a brief description of their traits, morals, etc): Tarkon is career military, a patriot, and has a strong bloodlust. A good example would be the fact that for ever Jem'hadar he killed, he harvested the Ketracel White tube from their neck, and made over 100 necklaces from them. He treats the art of war like a religion, and has a personal obsession with the Starfleet Phaser Rifle, which is, as he puts it his "very most favorite gun." He is not, however, detatched from reality. He's usually a down to earth, blue collar man with a sense of human to match who sees himself as one of the guys. He simply sees war as the single highest art form in the galaxy. Imagine, if you will, a hybrid of Chief O'Brian and George C. Scott from "Patton."

Description of Your Character's Appearance (or simply post a picture if you're able): Andorian male, 6', white hair, standard Operations division uniform.

Color and Font of Your Character's Speech: Bold Blue Comic Sans MS, pinkskin.

What Can You Bring To This Game: A vast knowledge of Star Trek and a gruff, violent, potentially psychotic career military character who spits in the very face of the ideals it represents while killing scores of people to protect them. Booyah.

How Often Do You Plan on Posting in a Week For This Game: I', going to set aside at least one hour a week to post, but I'll probably end up doing more.

Sample Post (Must be at least 4 paragraphs long and contain two lines of dialogue from your character): [/QUOTE]

The crewmen, new to The Enterprise's security division, stood at attention in a single row, lined up like good little toy soldiers. That was the phrase that came to mind when he looked at them. Toy soldiers. They're just children, after all. Straight out of basic training. Playing games. Thinking they're grown ups. Wait'll they meet a borg, he things to himself. That'll show us who's really grown up.

He walked in front of them, down along the line. He looked them over. Got a good feel for them. He saw nervousness in their eyes. Fresh meat. Little lambs, and ready for the slaughter if he couldn't whip them into shape.

"Welcome to the Enterprise," he said, loud and stern in a voice that made him remind others of a very large blue brick.

"I'm sure The Captain has already greeted you. Given you a warm welcome. Shook your hand and smiled. The Captain of a starship is like a father to his crew. Stern, yes, but also caring. Commanding the loyalty, respect, and most importantly trust of his crew. And he is damn good at it. Naturally, as the proud crew of the flagship of the federation, ours is not the family structure of some backwards colony world. We cannot have two fathers. I am not your father. I am your jackass older brother who beats you up when I'm bored. As the highest ranking member of the security staff other than the head of ship security, it will be my duty to personally administrate our day to day activities and enforce all orders made directly to us. The Head of Security calls the shots, but I handle the details. As he has a lot on his plate, and I am an emotionally abusive megalomaniac, we feel this a tidy and mutually satisfying little arrangement. "

The crewmen did not move. However, all of them did start to sweat, or whatever their race's biological equivalent happened to be.

"Now, you were chosen for this position because you've got the stuff. But you probably accepted it looking for an easy assignment. Galaxy Class Starships. The Federation's floating military bases. Ferries politicians, troops, and scientists from point A to point B. Has some on board deep space research. There for emergency situations. Pretty cushy job for security, right? That is right, if you're talking any ship other than The Enterprise. This is as I said the flagship of the fleet. So we don't just get any politicians, we get top ambassadors and the President of the United ****ing Federation of Planets himself. We don't get any troops, we get the troops who's mission will prevent the downfall of modern civilization. We don't house just any scientists, we carry scientists who's research can warp the very fabric of reality and manifests in malevolent artificial intelligence. And our definition of an emergency situation is no less than the wrath of the Lord God Almighty razing the galaxy in fire. Pretty cushy, right?"

He walked over to the weapon's locker, grabbed a gun, and presented it to the crewmen.

"Tell me," he said. "What is is this?"

They all respond at once.

"It is a standard issue Starfleet Phaser Riffle, sir!'

"That is exactly correct!" he shouted with a smile. "And what is the Starfleet Phaser Riffle, exactly?"

There is an unpleasant silence, as everyone is afraid to give the wrong answer.

"No? The answer is damn ****ing obvious. The Starfleet Phaser Riffle is the single finest instrument of death God has every blessed this galaxy with. Eighteen power settings, simple interface, a power pack that'll last you a month... it may not have the destructive force of a Klingon Disruptor, but it has ten times the versatility. It is a thinking man's gun. And out here, it is your best friend. That is not colorful language. I do mean that literally. We live in a world full of telepaths and shapeshifters. Androids and holograms. Things that can kill you by looking at you and other things that can do the same but choose not to because taking they're time is just so much more fun. It is the only thing in the universe you can trust. You look at it, you see a hunk of plastic and circuits. You are dead ****ing wrong. Because when Cardasian terrorists try to assassinate the Romulan Ambassador, when the Klingon spy trying to steal the plans for a new defense grid decides you're in his way, when and unholy Eldrich abomination from the very depths of Space-Hell is unleashed by the arrogance of our science and decides to hatch eggs in your brain to birth it's demon babies, you will be painfully aware (right before an evil space-baby bursts out of your skull) that your Starfleet Phaser Riffle is your very best friend. And that is why each and every one of you will be doing target practice in Holodeck One for the next three hours. Is that clear?"

"Sir yes sir!"

"Dismissed!"

The crewmen marched off in a single file line like good little toy soldiers. He smiled, and gently caressed his riffle.

"I love this job. I ****ing love it."

Default Re: Star Trek: The Final Frontier ~ Season I OOC Thread

Character Name: Elias Vaughn

Race (Human, Ferengi, Klingon, Romulan, Bajoran, etc): Human

Rank and Position (First Officer, Doctor, Security Chief, Bartender, etc): Commander

Brief Back Story on Your Character: Don't let Vaughn's age fool you. He may be 114, but he might as well still be 50 in mind and body. Elias holds the dubious honor of being the oldest Commander in Starfleet history. But it's only because his rank has been purposely held back over the years in order to maintain a low profile during his long tenure in Starfleet Intelligence.

Born in 2274 on Berengaria VII, exploration was in Elias' blood from a young age. This led to his decision to join Starfleet when he came of age. But he soon discovered he had a talent for Intelligence work and tactical operations. So he gave up his dream of being an explorer for a career on Starfleet Intelligence.

While his career with SI started slowly as a lowly analyst, Vaughn quickly proved to be an excellent operative and made a name for himself. Vaughn's Intelligence career lasted decades and was filled with both triumphs and tragedies. For several years at a time, Vaughn would retire from Intelligence work, and spend his days quietly teaching at the Academy. His influence there is still felt today, the Advanced Tactical Training Program still modeled on the curriculum he developed. But, inevitably, SI and his devotion to duty and the Federation would always bring him back into the world of espionage.

Vaugn was very active during the Dominion War, even becoming an essential part of the Betazoid resistance when the Enterprise-E helped overthrow the Jem'Hadar occupation force on the planet. With the end of the war, Vaughn was assigned to be Colonel Kira Nerys' first officer on Deep Space 9. He also commanded the Defiant during the first post-war expedition of the Gamma Quadrant, following his love of exploration for the first time in his life. During this time, Elias repaired his relationship with his estranged daughter who was also stationed on DS9.

For the last several years, Vaughn has continued to serve as Colonel Nerys' first officer, and has recently been preparing to lead the next expedition into the Gamma Quadrant. But as anyone who has spent time in Intelligence might tell you, it never pays off to plan too far ahead...

Character Personality (list a brief description of their traits, morals, etc):
Vaughn is a hard man, but an understanding one. He is a fair-minded officer, and is always at least three steps ahead of his opponents. His years of Intelligence work have made him a suspicious person, but his time working with the Bajorans has softened his edges, rounding out his character, and giving him a sense of peace that he hadn't felt since before he was force to ordered his wife's ship on a suicide mission.

But make no mistake, give him three seconds and he can kill you in a dozen different ways.

His many years of service and Intelligence work has put him on a first name basis with most of the Admiralty. And most of those Admirals still owe Vaughn a favor or ten. He's also not afraid to call an Admiral out and tell him off if the situation warrants it. There is probably no officer in the Fleet with more experience then Elias Vaughn, and it's only his distaste of bureaucratic nonsense and the peace he's found with his assignment on DS9 that keeps him from becoming the head of Starfleet Intelligence, if not head of Starfleet itself.

Description of Your Character's Appearance (or simply post a picture if you're able): Vaughn is in great shape mentally and physically. His appearance alone suggests he's a man half his age.

Color and Font of Your Character's Speech: Bold Royal Blue

What Can You Bring To This Game:
You may notice that Vaughn's backstory is pretty detailed. That's because he's a character from the series of DS9 relaunch books that take place after the last episode of the show. I really enjoyed the books I read, and very much liked Vaughn's character. As first officer, I plan to use Vaughn's years of experience to help guide the new Captain, and Starfleet's new flagship, on the adventures to come.

And if I have to reread those books to get his character right, I will.

How Often Do You Plan on Posting in a Week For This Game:
Probably a couple of times a week. More if life permits.

Sample Post (Must be at least 4 paragraphs long and contain two lines of dialogue from your character):

First Officer's log: Stardate 65021.3

These last ten years have been nothing like I expected. I had been hoping for a nice and quiet, but not too boring, stint on Deep Space Nine to end my career. It was also a last chance to reunite with Prynn and hopefully work out our issues.

Well, it certainly hasn't been boring. Anything but. And my relationship with Prynn has never been closer. I've never felt so...satisfied with my life. For the first time in decades I wake up each morning looking forward to what may come. It's a long way from the contemplations of ending it all after I lost Ruriko.

And in three days, the Defiant launches back through the wormhole. I will captain the ship as we escort the Federation delegation that will meet with Odo and the other Founders. And I'm excited at the prospect. I've seen far too many years of war. The chance to make peace instead is one I look forward to.

The computer terminal on my desk bleeps about an incoming message. "End log," I say to it as I take a seat.

I type in a command, and the message pops up. I smile as I see who it's from...but my face quickly drops as I read on. I've barely finished reading when I march out the door, angry, and feeling like I could bite through a bulkhead.

"Ent-"

I barge into the Colonel's office, barley giving the computer time to signal my presence, or her the time to give me permission to enter.

"Command-"

"What the hell is this about?!" I say, slamming the padd onto her desk.

Glancing at the padd, she picks up the baseball that sits on the desktop and tosses it between her hands. "I just found out about it myself. I was going to tell you personally..."

"Well, apparently, he didn't feel like waiting for you to do that."

"I've been trying to contact him to clear this all up, but he's not taking any calls."

"Don't worry about that. I'll get through to him."

"Commander, don't do anything you'll regret."

Character Name: Carter McCoy

Race (Human, Ferengi, Klingon, Romulan, Bajoran, etc): Human

Rank and Position (First Officer, Doctor, Security Chief, Bartender, etc): Medical Officer

Brief Back Story on Your Character: Born to Joanna McCoy-Peters and Joseph Peters, Carter Leonard Peters grew up on Earth with both parents until his mother and father divorced when Carter was 10. His mother had both of their names changed back to her maiden name of McCoy. He spent the summers with his grandfather, Leonard "Bones" McCoy. Hearing his grandfathers fantastic tales of adventures in space made Carter realize his career path early on. When Carter was 12, Bones passed away at the ripe age of 145. Carter went on to attend medical school and graduate Summa Cum Laude from UCLA Med, specializing in Xeno-Astrobiology. Three days after his graduation, Carter enlisted in Starfleet and graduated with the rank of Medical Officer.

Up until his reassignment, Carter was serving on the starship USS Californa as one of the ship's resident doctors.

Character Personality (list a brief description of their traits, morals, etc): Carter shares many of his grand father's traits, his compassion for life and his desire to help people. Although he does not wear his heart on his sleeve, Carter does indeed have the McCoy temper deep inside of him and can occasionally let it out. Since he grew up in a different time, his attitude towards aliens are a bit more mellow. While the original McCoy did not like space travel, Carter enjoys the travels and adventures of space.

Description of Your Character's Appearance (or simply post a picture if you're able): DeForest Kelly is McCoy, so it should be fitting that his grandson look like Karl Urban

Color and Font of Your Character's Speech: Navy, Franklin Gothic Medium, and Bold

What Can You Bring To This Game: I'm a doctor, not a bringer!

How Often Do You Plan on Posting in a Week For This Game: Much as needed

Sample Post (Must be at least 4 paragraphs long and contain two lines of dialogue from your character):

USS California
Beta Quadrant

"Okay, Ensign. What's your problem?" I casually ask the crewman sitting on my medical examination table.

"Well, Doctor...I have this strange burning sensation...." I nod as I keep writing down information on his chart.

"Okay. Where exactly do you feel this burning at?"

"Well, sir...it's uh....below the waist."

I stop with my notes and look the young man in the eyes.

"How long have you been having this feeling?"

"For about a week now."

"Yes, and we were at port two weeks ago. Did you happen to visit any women when we were at port?"

His face turns red, telling me all that I need to know.

"Well, then. I have some medicine here that can clean it right up."

"But, doctor. She wasn't a human, she was an Orion!"

I do a double take and look at the young man sternly.

"Oh, well then. I'll have to prep you for surgery. The body fluids of Orion's contain acid highly damaging to all humans, your....member, could be rotten and have gangrene. I'm afraid it will have to come off."

"NO!" The ensign cries out, holding on to his crotch for dear life.

I chuckle and hand the young man a piece of paper.

"Joking.......go see the nurse down the hall, she'll give you a shot and fix you right up."

"Thank you, doctor," he says with a nervous laugh.

"No, problem. And son, remember this: flies spread disease....so keep your's closed."

He gratefully nods and waddles off towards the nurse's station.

I smile to myself as I watch him go.

"Doctor," the communications officer appears on the screen inside the examination room.

"I have a transmission from Earth, requesting to speak to you."

"Is it my mother?"

"No. It's from Starfleet. Code Alpha-1."

I feel my stomach go cold. That code is designated for only one man.

"Doctor McCoy," I go a bit pale at the image of Admiral Picard appearing on the screen. Mother of God, what have I done?

"Admiral.....what-what can I help you with?"

"Relax, Doctor. I would like you to report to Starfleet on Earth for reassignment."

"For what?"

"All in good time," he says with a glint in his eye and disappears from the screen.

What in the hell have I done?

Character Name: Bellatrix

Race (Human, Ferengi, Klingon, Romulan, Bajoran, etc): Romulan

Rank and Position (First Officer, Doctor, Security Chief, Bartender, etc): Chief Security/Tactical Officer. Has been involved with Covert Ops while serving the Romulan Empire

Brief Back Story on Your Character: Born in the capital city of Romulus to an upper class family, Bellatrix since birth was ruthless and cunning in every endeavor. From the start she was groomed by her mother to use her natural beauty to seduce her enemies into submission and when the time came, stab them in the heart. She joined the military at a young age and rose through the ranks thanks in part to her tactical mind.

Her greatest achievement came during the Reman uprising of 2379. While Praetor Shinzon was away ion the Scimitar taking part in the “Battle of the Bassen Rift”. Bellatrix led a small group of Romulan Commandoes dubbed ‘Cleaning Crew’ (In Romulan) who stealthily slaughtered several Reman soldiers and subsequently helped the re-instigation of the Senate.

She would later have the honor of meeting Captain William Riker of the USS Titan during the peace negotiations between the Federation and the Romulans. She described him as a consummate flirt and a womanizer but still held him in high regard because in her words, “One of the few Human’s I have met who is more of a fighter and less of a talker. I like that.”

She, along with all remaining Romulans would receive the biggest shock of their lives in 2387 when a star near Romulus went supernova and reduced the home planet of the star empire to dust. Her entire family was killed and since then she holds an increasing animosity for Vulcans who in her words are liars and traitors, claiming to want to improve relations but during the time of need they did nothing. The emotionally and mental trauma may actually have had a positive effect because she is now less reckless and more controlled. Perhaps even a little colder.

Also, despite being a supporter of the new Federation-Romulan Alliance, she feels that the Star Empire is still strong enough to pick itself up without help. She supports the Alliance from the perspective that her newly earned knowledge and experience will turn her into a smarter and more dangerous fighter

Most recently, she spent some time on earth, honing her already near perfect marksman skills and has gained an interest in the so called ‘martial arts’ which impressed her though she is not willing to admit it. In her words, “I never thought that these mousy humans would actually at one time have developed ways to turn their own bodies into killing machines. I thought that was a Klingon thing”

Character Personality (list a brief description of their traits, morals, etc): A violent upbringing is not uncommon amongst the proud people of Romulus who even after making an uneasy peace with the Federation consider themselves better than the rest.

Despite being given the opportunity of having a comfortable life as member of the Senate, Bellatrix decided to join the military. The battlefield became her home away from home. Though unlike the Klingons she does not believe in pride and honor, she considers them frivolous window dressing and sees war for the brutal, chaotic mayhem it is.

She is cold, cunning and ruthless. Not exactly your cliché action girl either. She shows her quick wit to those whom she fancies and spits poison for those she despises. Despite all this, she is probably one of the more polite members of the crew. She is a wolf, ever watchful.

Description of Your Character's Appearance (or simply post a picture if you're able): Think Romulan, Summer Glau. Martial Arts & Guns? River Tam from Firefly!!

Color and Font of Your Character's Speech: Lucida Console. Blue.

What Can You Bring To This Game: TOS/DS9 style spice to your TNG style white collar proceedings. Maybe some Mass Effect (game). Maybe even Firefly.

How Often Do You Plan on Posting in a Week For This Game: As long as possible.

Sample Post:

Bellatrix sat in her quarters going through a performance report of the security crew. Suddenly, the door chimed. "Come in" she replied. The doors wooshed open to reveal Ensign Mathers, one of the many red shirts on her team but someone she had her eye on.

"Permission to speak freely maam?" he asked with a nervous voice.

"Go ahead" she replied, her sharp eyes still focussed on the report.

"I think you are being too harsh on the crew. I know you were inspired by Commander Tuvok's stories of the legendary USS Voyager Hazard Team (Star Trek: Elite Force game) but your obsessing too much over trivial things."

She takes a breath, the ensign expects to be shouted at but it's the same cold, calculating voice. It was worse, "
You know our responsibilities ensign. We can't afford to slack off. When push comes to shove, we will be the first and only line of defense. The sooner you understand the better. Someday, your'll thank me for it."

Before the ensign can offer a rebuttal, a shock wave shakes the entire ship. A buzzing sound is heard, a blue light appears in the middle of the room and two Klingon's suddenly appear.

In the blink of an eye, something shoots out of Bellatrix's hand hitting and she pounces on the other, disarming him and twisting his neck to breaking point. She stands up, dusting her hands and glances at the other Klingon, a special Romluan knife sticking out his forehead.

She cracks her knuckles.
"Klingons. Pfft! All talk!"

Suddenly, the communicator chimes, "This is the captain <pew pew> We are under attack!<pew pew> Security team head to Cargo Bay 2 and Deck 3."

Bellatrix gleefully picks up her Romulan disruptor (The captain allowed her to keep it despite regulations) and holsters both it and the blade. Time for work. She leaves, with the Ensign not far behind, impressed once more. It felt safe having a killing machine on board the ship.

Character Name: Puk

Race (Human, Ferengi, Klingon, Romulan, Bajoran, etc): Changeling

Rank and Position (First Officer, Doctor, Security Chief, Bartender, etc): Ensign. Science Division. Blue Uniform.

Brief Back Story on Your Character:

In 2371 Puk was discovered as a gelatinous liquid in San Marcos, Texas near the San Marcos River. Trapped in the container sent to Earth in 2298 by the Founders, Puk's matrix was kept on the mantle of the woman who discovered it, Courtney Frazier, for 5 years. In 2376 the container became too small for Puk and she began to emerge from her birthing matrix. Mrs. Frazier was startled at first but after using her daughters old tricorder she discovered that the goo was a sentient lifeform. After taking Puk to the Johnson Space Center in Houston she discovered that this young lifeform was indeed a Changeling. Having lost her daughter to the Borg at the Battle of Wolf 359, Mrs. Frazier became attached to Puk and adopted the Changeling as her own daughter.

Puk grew rapidly and even received visits from Doctor Mora Pol, the Bajoran scientist who was the leading authority on Changelings and their development. Puk and her mother visited Ambassador Odo at Deep Space Nine in 2380 and Odo remarked how advanced Puk had become. With Doctor Mora and Odo's tutelage Puk became much more fluent in her shapechanging abilities and even mimicked humanoid forms with much greater skills.

In 2381 it was determined in a Federation Court of Law that Puk was indeed a citizen of the Federation. Puk's emergence from her birthing matrix was considered her birthdate and she was granted all the rights and privileges of an inhabitant of Earth.

In 2386 Puk was admitted into Starfleet Academy under the letters of recommendation from Captain Chakotay, Colonel Kira Nerys, and Ambassador Odo. Although the last two weren't members of Starfleet, their recommendations carried tremendous weight with the Admittance Board.

In January of 2389 Puk graduated second in her class with the highest marks in Quantum Theory and Temporal Mechanics. With her promotion to Ensign she became the first Changeling in Starfleet. She now awaits her first assignment.

Character Personality (list a brief description of their traits, morals, etc): Puk gets most of her personality from her mother. She's a Texas Lady and you'd best not underestimate her. She has an explorers heart and she's ready to learn more about the Galaxy. Because of her accelerated maturity she has a bit of innocent naivete but that only makes her more attractive to every person she's ever met. She's an optimist and she never met a person she didn't like. Her grasp of science is second to none. Dr. Mora even observed that her shapechanging ability has even emerged in her brain anatomy. She's taken on the neural patterns of Vulcans as well as her natural state of Terran. It's been hypothesized that she could even mimic a positronic pattern.

Description of Your Character's Appearance (or simply post a picture if you're able):

She still has a little trouble with ears.

Color and Font of Your Character's Speech: Blue Verdana

What Can You Bring To This Game: Ops. Science Officer. And the occasional techno babble.

How Often Do You Plan on Posting in a Week For This Game: 3 or 4. More during encounters.

Sample Post (Must be at least 4 paragraphs long and contain two lines of dialogue from your character):

"Now ya got a little smidge right there. Lemme get that..."

"Momma! I'm in uniform. Ya just cain't go whipin' spit on me like that."

"I'll do what I damn well want too. It's not every day my baby graduates from Starfleet. I remember how proud I was when Ri..."

"Oh momma. It's ok. Now don't go cryin', you'll get me started. You know very well that Uncle Chakotay said Riley was just fine and homesteadin' in the Delta Quadrant. Now let's get to my quarters and pick up your picnic basket. I don't plan on getting my assignment before I have one more mess of your peach cobbler."

The two ladies enter the barracks and re-emerge a few minutes later. Puk is carrying a basket and Mrs. Frazier is carrying a blanket with Starfleet Academy logos all over it. They pass through the grounds on their way to the Bay. As they walk by a strange old man with a wide straw hat stops Mrs. Frazier and hands her a dozen blue flowers.

"For you young lady."

"Young lady? Why you old charmer. Bluebonnets? How'd ya know?"

"I'd know a Texan by the pride in their step. But the smell of peach cobbler gave you away."

"Why thank you very kindly, Mr... uh??"

"Boothby. And leave the Mr. out of it. Can't abide by formality."

"Well thank you, Boothby. This is my daughter, Pu..."

"Puk Frazier. Class of 89. Graduated second in your class"

"That's right, sir... uh Boothby. How'd ya know that?"

"Tut tut. Can't give away all my secrets now, can I? Now you'd better hurry, Captain Chakotay is waiting for you down by the Bay."

"Uncle Chakotay? But how'd he know we were...?"

"No time for dilly dally now. You'd best hurry along. He'll have information about your new ship."

"Ship? My new ship? Well thank you, sir. And thanks again for the flowers. Come on, Momma!"

"Oh and Puk."

"Yes sir?"

"When you get to your ship, you treat her like a lady and she'll always bring you home."

"I will, sir. And thank you."

The two women hurry off. Boothby chuckles and returns to watering a hedge.

I wonder if it would be possible for this RPG to be done in episodic format.
With every two pages comprising one episode.

We must have:
1. Mirror Universe episode
2. Episode with time travel
3. Episode where everyone is naked
4. Episode that is a 1hr comedy reel
5. Episode where all seems lost but the crew are saved by a Deus Ex Machina
6. Finally, an "Arena" type episode with the captain fighting a Gorn in the corniest way possible

EDIT:

I would love to have the following two thing make an appearance here.
1. http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Section_31
2. http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/USS_...ometheus_class)

Well. Elias is aware of Section 31.

And I was wondering if the Enterprise would have multi-vector assault mode.

I didn't until I looked it up. Would never have remembered her name.

But I did name the name Puk, as in the trickster (once voiced by Brent Spinner)?

4. Episode that is a 1hr comedy reel
5. Episode where all seems lost but the crew are saved by a Deus Ex Machina
6. Finally, an "Arena" type episode with the captain fighting a Gorn in the corniest way possible

EDIT:

I would love to have the following two thing make an appearance here.
1. http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Section_31
2. http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/USS_...ometheus_class)
The Gorn incident would be resolved by me sniping things. All problems will be solved by sniping. Sniping is pure. The gun is good.

Star Trek needs a Mass Effect style shotgun. We got pistols and rifles covered with the Type II Phaser being both automatic and sniper.

Let's call it the Type III. Perfect for close quarters combat, like say the corridors of the Enterprise. I loved the HANDHELD PHOTON & QUANTUM TORPEDO LAUNCHERS in Elite Force. There was also a mini-gun but it was of Hirogen make.

I can imagine the convo:

Rourke: YOU WANT A WHAT?!?!
Bellatrix: Handheld Photon Torpedo launchers.

Rourke: WHYY?
Bellatrix: The security team arsenal is woefully incomplete

Rourke: We explore the galaxy!! Not blow it to kingdom come!!!
Bellatrix: Couldn't hurt. What if we encounter a Klingon Armada?

Rourke: And I presume you will be standing on top of the Enterprise, launcher in hand, firing away at the ships and blowing them up while laughing manically?
Bellatrix: <ORGASM!!> Oh Captain... you really know how to make love to a woman.

With every two pages comprising one episode.

We must have:
1. Mirror Universe episode
2. Episode with time travel
3. Episode where everyone is naked
4. Episode that is a 1hr comedy reel
5. Episode where all seems lost but the crew are saved by a Deus Ex Machina
6. Finally, an "Arena" type episode with the captain fighting a Gorn in the corniest way possible

Yes, I was planning on setting it up akin to episodes. As for how long each one lasts all depends on how the game flows. Definitely be more than two pages though.
And I'm sure we can work all of those into Episodes, whether it be this season, or future seasons.

Sure, why not? multi-vector assault mode it is. Hell, since the new Enterprise is the first Federation ship to use a legal cloaking device, why not make all three sections able to go to cloak as well when they are separated.
Just have to figure out how the ship could split up into threes before using it. Obviously, the saucer section would be one part, but how would the rest split is the question?

And I'm putting the finishing touches on an opening arc to start things off. After that, if anybody has any ideas for a story, let me know, and I'll take them into consideration.

Well, the Enterprise doesn't have to split into three (Prometheus had six nacelles, after all). Seeing the Prometheus link just made me think of it.

Multi-Vector Assault mode sounds like something out of Power Rangers!

Admiral Picard: Data! Get me an Enterprise crew with ATTITUDE!!!
Data: AI-YAI-AI-YAI-YAI!

<music plays>
