Default Hilariously awful DVD covers, or the Steven Seagal thread!

Didn't see a topic on this but with so many crappy photoshopped looking DVD art that differ from the actual movie poster I figured why not start one? any other region DVD covers are welcome too.

They made a live action Beavis and Butthead movie?

An early Tom Hanks movie released on DVD in 2005 with a new cover. Here's the old VHS cover.

I gotta tip my hat to whoever sat down to make the cover for the Mazes and Monsters DVD and actually made it look like a movie that someone might watch.

I like how they made an anti-Dungeons and Dragons propaganda film look like a second-rate Da Vinci Code.

I just red the Wikipedia article about it. It's actually pretty hilarious how reactionary the media was to a new pastime. It reminds me an awful lot of how some dumbsacks react to video games nowadays...

Not to mention how some people in the past reacted to rock and roll, to comic books, etc.

way too cluttered with lettering just awful

how did this skip theaters with big names like Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey, and when did Spacey steal Christopher Walken's hair?

i would say in a decades time, most of these dvds' awful artwork will be redone.

I mean, photoshop is being taught in high school now and I really think the public is getting more sophisicated with the program. It's to the point where a kid now can do a better job than the guy who did the Delta Force artwork.

here's the awsome retro DVD art. it's beautiful:

Now here's the so-so blu-ray art:

Seriously, why waste the time and effort to make a new cover like this? In theory, it's not bad looking but it's totally misleading (as if it's a newer movie).

well, the original History of Violence poster isn't the most striking poster, but I liked the minimalism. I just don't see how the ugly DVD art is suppose to be more 'marketable' than the poster art.
