A lot of really good quotes in here.
When Goodman said that about Pacino was he talking **** or joking in a friendly manner? I couldn't tell hahaha. This quote may not be as great as a number of the ones you all listed but when I read it a number of years ago I was in full agreement. "There was a time (they called it the '70's) when the "auteur director" was king and made all the final creative decisions" - David Hayter |

^Pretty good quote from Busey actually.
It sounds a bit like: " Never get caught acting" by the late, great Lilian Gish. Busey and Gish have more in common than I thought .- "Never confuse the size of your paycheck with the size of your talent." Marlon Brando.

“what is drama, after all, but life with the dull bits cut out…” Alfred Hitchcock Can't remember if either of those were already posted. |

All from Steven Spielberg
"I dream for a living." I like this one a lot. "I never felt comfortable with myself, because I was never part of the majority. I always felt awkward and shy and on the outside of the momentum of my friends' lives." Coming from a director like Spielberg who I grew up watching his work, this hits me pretty hard. This sums me up big time. "People have forgotten how to tell a story. Stories don't have a middle or an end any more. They usually have a beginning that never stops beginning." When I grow up, I still want to be a director. This is a good one, I like his attitude. "There is a fine line between censorship and good taste and moral responsibility." This last one I posted because I think it's a damn shame he said this yet produced TF and TF2 which had some pretty tasteless jokes. |

Not really.
Only somewhat bad films of his in my opinion are The Lost World and War of the Worlds. You have to take into account just like all artists(especially in film and even more so in the world of music)the older they get the more will change with their work. It may not be for the better to a number of people but I still think Spielberg is still good. |

"If you think you're going to be up for an Oscar, you schedule your moviemaking."-Micheal Caine
"An Oscar means a lot of things because it's like the ultimate award for a filmmaker so it feels great. But I think you have to consider awards with some distance and not get obsessed with it. [QUOTE=danoyse;18054771]Yeah. I'm a huge Marx Brothers fan too. And I love Groucho's books as well. Also Harpo's autobiography ("Harpo Speaks") is really awesome too.

_ " I don't care what they say about me, as long as they spell my name right." P.T Barnum.
More Show Business oriented than strictly movies per se, but I think it's a response to critics that can apply to any form of artistic expression, and also I like it.
