I agree. It IS called TEEN Wolf afterall. One could argue the quality of a presented romance, but not the fact that there IS a romance in the first place. Every story, be it literature, film, stage, or tv, is a love story. No matter the genre.
I happen to like (and can relate to) the romance quite well. The high school stereotypes really don't apply in this show.

Ill admit I wasnt digging the show at first, but I stuck with it because well I like werewolves and I need something to watch in the summer.
I think that episode 5 was actually pretty good. THe scorre got better, the tension got better. The parent teacher confrences edited together with what the teens were doing was cool (like when Scott's eyes flashed as the car's passed) as well as the scene where it was revealed that the hunters didnt kill Derek's sister. And the whole parking lot animal scene was good too I actually dont mind the IDEA of the romance but like True Blood, Vampire Diaries, and Twilight the romance feels forced between uninteresting character with mediocre chemistry.

I feel the show is currently rather bare-boned. At the moment, it only has the bare essentials - consisting of the main romance, the need of keeping his identity secret and the dilemma with the Big Bad (the alpha wolf). What the show needs is to add more layers to help it stand out; much like how True Blood has the 'vampires as gays' metaphor or how The Vampire Diaries has the constantly shifting alliances and the Cain-and-Abel dynamic between its male leads. Sure, you could argue Twilight gets away without any of that but that's because it ramped up the escapist fantasy to a ridiculous level; which the show doesn't (and probably shouldn't aspire to).

While I have my doubts, I certainly hope so. It would definitely up the stakes. Plus, I found his character boring and predictable (specifically with regards to the direction he would have evolved in). Speaking of death, did anyone catch on when the Scott mentioned something smelled like 'rotting or dying' in reference to the jock guy (think his name is Jackson)? Could vampires be in the horizon?

Ironic. The guy who plays Jackson played a werewolf on The Gates last summer on ABC (RIP THE GATES). As for..Derek..the guy playing him...wsa up for the main vamp dude in Twilight. He has that Twilight vibe to him...

I'm so surprised by how much I immediately like this show.
I mean, with vampire diaries it took a while for me to be able to see past the romantic cheesy boring stuff and elana's insessant sorrow. But I got through it. Same sort of thing here in a way, but for some reason I don't find it boring at all. It's just fun. Good teen tv fun. |

Styles is my favorite character on the show. The actor that plays him is really funny and great to watch him with his 'ticks' and voice changes.

I pegged the science teacher being the alpha werewolf for pretty much the whole season but they did a good job of keeping the real alpha a secret up til this point, question is if they kill the alpha off & Scott goes back to normal what is the point of a season 2? Could it be possible that Derick's uncle wasn't the alpha who bit Scott & there is a second one still on the loose?

I always thought the Alpha was Scott's dad to be honest. I thought scratching him was his way of getting back into his boys life but ohh well I was wrong.

Just watched episode 8 where Derek tells Scott that killing the Alpha will stop him being a werewolf and I was thinking. Assuming they kill off the Alpha at the end of the season they need a way to keep Scott the titular "teen wolf".
So, what if... Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:

Isn't there going to be a second part to the season finale next week or was last night the last episode of the season?
