Which do you think was the better reboot-origin story? Two films following well established series that had mixed to very poor receptions the last time around. Both of them establishing a new origin story for the character.

Begins; however if we look at Spider-Man 1 vs The Amazing Spider-Man, I would say TASM.

Batman Begins, by far.
ASM is awful. Begins was a huge step forward in the right direction after the atrocious Batman and Robin movie 7 years earlier. ASM? Not really. It's just as lame as Spider-Man 3 in my opinion and isn't an improvement over the first Spider-Man or Spider-Man 2, my favorite Spider-Man films. |

I don't feel much for either one. I guess I could keep myself glued to the screen for Begins.

I guess I'm the first to vote for spider-man.
While begins is probably a superior film. . . I found Spider-man more entertaining. I wasn't all that into begins, and Spider-man is just more my speed. |

Batman Begins. For sure. TASM could've been much more, but we'd already seen it all before, didn't give us anything new. BB was a huge breath of fresh air.

Begins. Besides the fact that it's just an all-around better film, it provided us with Batman's origin, which had not been seen in a live action film before. TASM was decent, but mainly for the acting. The plot was nothing special, and in the end it was really nothing that we haven't seen before. The only thing that TASM bested Begins in was the love interest. Emma Stone is WAY better than Katie Holmes.
However, IMO, both films were effective in making you leave the theater saying, "Yeah, this was good, but the next one is what I'm REALLY looking forward to." The Dark Knight fulfilled that desire above and beyond. Let's hope TASM2 does the same.

Batman Begins. I like both though but Batman Begins is the best origin film to date IMO with Iron Man in second place.

Amazing Spider-Man had good things but was lame otherwise. Quite embarrassing as a Spidey fan.
Batman Begins all the way.

The funniest thing about that is I feel like TAS-M 2 is trying to make up for all the wrongs and missteps the first film made. Sequels hardly have to do this.

TASM somehow managed to do both, and I can't imagine what sort of backlash the studio & crew will receive if the dropped plot points and inconsistencies don't get addressed. |

TASM isn't even fit to wipe Batman's boots. Batman Begins had a case for being the best superhero movie ever at the time it came out. It has since been surpassed by its sequel, but it is still a huge step above TASM. Batman 89 is far better than TASM too for that matter.

Noted, but comparing the two, I think it's safe to say that TASM is the definitively lesser film, either as an origin or otherwise.

No one is saying BB doesn't have its flaws, but at least even with its flaws, they're not as cringe-worthy as TAS-M.
I guarantee Dr. Ratha will be nowhere in the sequel and that will hurt the series as a whole.

I really enjoyed TASM.
But I think Batman Begins is a better and more interesting movie. TASM was entertaining, but was nothing special imo.

I wonder how the poll will look if the question was asking which was better between the 2002 Spider-Man film and Batman Begins.
