Thank GOD I could get back into my old account, albeit after a password reset. Wow, I can't believe it's been 7 years now since I first joined, and I had actually been a lurker some time before then! Glad to be back, and yes, it's all thanks to my now re-invigorated excitement for the X-Men franchise!Lightning Strykez, I definitely recognize your username, and see that you have been quite busy around these parts over the last few years, and have risen in the ranks quite nicely! Great to see an old username on here. Glad to be back, and let's see if I can't get my post count up some over the next couple years while we wait for this next piece of comic film history! |

^ YAY, I'm remembered!?!? Awesome! I'm so excited to be back!
I was wondering... does anyone else remember the original treatments Singer wanted to include of Storm and Cyclops in X-Men, similar to how he told Magneto's story in the opening scene? I remember reading, many years back, about the original X-Men script (which I have saved on a hard drive somewhere around here), that included a Cyclops scene at his high school prom, when all a sudden his eyes started burning, so he runs to the bathroom, and into a stall. A friend comes in to check on him, asks if he's okay, and he replies, "it's my eyes... they feel like they're on fire," or something to that effect. All of a sudden he loses control, and blows a hole clear through his school's gymnasium. Then there was the Storm arc, where she was a little white-haired girl out in Africa during a staunch heat wave. A ring of children are running around her, taunting and chanting horrible things to her. Storm begins to get overwhelmed, loses control, and we see the first use of her powers manifest as a snow storm in the middle of the African desert. Does anybody else remember these treatments he had written? I remember reading an article where he said these scenes would have just been way too expensive for what the studio wanted to do, at the time. He had one to choose, so he picked the Magneto scene. I think for that film, that that was was the best choice for sure. However, I can't help but wonder how powerful that Scott scene could be in a First Class film, or even the Ororo one, given her appearance in the movie. Thoughts??? I'm going to try to find that copy of the script I have somewhere... |

Yes, I remember. I hope those are included in this film.
I have that script in some folder somewhere.

I'm really rooting for Tim Pocock (Cyclops) and Tahyna Tozzi (Emma) to reclaim their roles as played in WOLVERINE! I have no idea who should play the other roles, though. I do like the idea of Shanae Grimes (90210) playing Jean.
Welcome back, illest urban!!!

WOW, Ant!!! Some of you guys really are hardcore Hype-ers lol! So glad to see you're still here! And loving how far you've taken the X-Men Films site... you've come a long way, sir! I remember when you first started it! Kudos! Glad to be back!
I'm really upset at finding out Zoe Saldana is already 31 (she doesn't look it!), because I had TOTALLY co-signed on her casting as Storm (perrrrfect!). Though I completely agree with Keke Palmer as a young Ororo, girl can ACT (and sing too!). Just check her out in Akeelah and the Bee! (co-starring other Storm casting fan-fave of days past, Angela Basset). |

Welcome back Illest Urban.
And I agree with you JP: it would be glorious if Pejo could return to the ranks as well.

It was mentioned years ago, but I haven't seen it recently. I like the idea of James Marsters as young Charles Xavier.

James Marsters as Xavier? That could definitely work. Just hope he has the right egg head for the role. LOL
And Stephen Lang IS Cable in the flesh. That would be inspired casting.

Lang as Cable is perfect, but it's doubtful he'll pop up in the films at any point soon.
I also think Marsters would be a good young Xavier, but he is kind of too old for the age they're going for in this film.

I think Jean and Emma should have like the same age, more or less...

I would take him as Mags, over Xavier
(though, him playing the villain, may seem like a bit of a type cast, but, Mags isn't your traditional villain, an at this point in the movies, wouldn't really be "the villain" of the story) ![]()

I also think that the assumption that Xavier and Magneto will be 20 something when they form the X-men is not correct at all. How can they be 20 something if Cyclops is the first student? Cyclops' powers will manifest around high school and then he'll be taken in. For the age difference to stay consistent between him and Xavier, Xavier will have to be 25-30 years older than Scott. Assuming Charles is in his late 50's/early 60s in X-Men then he'd have to be in his early 40's in First Class when the team is formed.....could there be flashbacks to he and Magneto as younger men, yes. But does it make sense for the school to be formed when they are that young....no. -R
