"Go west, young man!"
- John Soule, 1851

America slowly rebuilds six years after civil war ripped the country in two, dividing families and pitting brother against brother. As the Union Army begins the long process of reconstruction in the South, America looks towards the West. People tired of their huddled urban lives seek the wide open spaces and freedom of the frontier.

Manifest Destiny runs rampant as the United States seek to extend their country from sea to shining sea. As the country struggles to reunite and reclaim their identity, a new phenomenon springs up across the frontier of the country. Heroes and tall tales of the Wild West spread across the continent and the world. Whether these figures do indeed exist, or are indeed the stuff of legends remains to be seen. True or not, their tales and stories inspire the country and slowly heal the fractured nation.

Gamemasters

Rules

* You may choose any character appearing in the DC Universe. Any character appearing outside of DC, such as Marvel or Image characters, will not be applicable. You are allowed a maximum of two characters. Though it is advised that you stick to one, especially at first, you will be allowed a second if you believe you can handle the responsibility.

* In the beginning, each and every character will be up for grabs. Multiple players will be allowed to apply for the same character, leaving the best application to be judged and approved by the Gamemasters. In order to be eligible, you must post your application within 24 hours after the first was submitted.

* You must post at least once every two weeks, though it is preferred you post more, or your character will be up-for-grabs. Failure to post after a month will result in removal from the roster.

* PC's are not to be killed without permission. Nameless NPC's are fine, but PC's or important NPC's will require authorization. Don't do anything random, such as destroying the universe, either. Such behavior is frowned upon.

* Several storylines can be going on at once, in order to interact with other players. If a player's character does not want to be involved in another's storyline, they do not have to. Consultation and communication are the keys to a good PC-to-PC interaction.

* Legacy characters (IE: Sidekicks) will be required to be permitted by the player orchestrating the mentor's role in the RPG. For instance, if you want to play Robin or Nightwing, your acceptance will hinder on the player playing Batman, and their thoughts.

* You can travel anywhere on Earth or off-planet, provided it is within your character's means. Time-travel is forbidden, unless it is specifically required of your character choice.

You are your character, so act like them. Create or portray their mannerisms, powers, and ideals to how they have been established in the game. BE the character - do not, under any circumstances, play yourself as the character.

* Respect the Gamemasters. If they make a request of you regarding the game, listen to them. Failure to adhere to GM, AGM, and Hype! Moderator requests will result in expulsion from the game.

* Be creative, and do not be afraid to try new and exciting things with old concepts. This is a new continuity - the laws of the regular DC Universe are not set in stone.

* All regular Hype rules apply. And finally, the most important rule of all: Have fun. Never take the game too seriously, or you will have lost the point. Heated arguments between players can result in probations or infractions - do not ruin it for other players. It's only a game, people.

DC: 1870 Character Application

Character You Would Like to Play: Sheriff James Gordon

Basic Backstory of Character: Jim Gordon was the son of an Irish immigrant, Michael Gordon, who came to America to work on the newly budding rail lines during the 1830s. It was here that Jim’s father met and married Anne, and two years later Jim was born to a loving, but poor, house hold in Maryland. His father instilled in him a strong sense of what’s right and wrong in the world, and Jim never forgot it.

When Jim became of age, he followed his father into the railroad business, that is until the great Civil War erupted. Jim was conscripted into the Union Army.

Gordon proved to be a great leader of men, and quickly rose to the rank of lieutenant. He led his men into battles such as Gettysburg, and ended his career a distinguished soldier.

But Jim was also alone in the world at the end of the war. His mother and father had both passed due to disease, and he had not married yet. He decided to move and try to make a new life in the still wild west.

He ended up settling in the growing city of Los Gothamos in California, where he quickly gained the respect of its citizens as a lawman. In a few short years, he was elected as the towns sheriff, but all was not well. Los Gothamos started to attract the seedier types as Western cities often did, and crime started to run amock. But there were two beams of light in this dark time. One was the good Sheriff, and the other was a mysterious figure known only as “The Bat”.

Character's Speech Font: Century Gothic Bold

Sample Post: (Between three to five paragraphs with dialogue)

Sheriff,” my deputy says pushing open the door to the jailhouse, “trouble up at Cobblepott’s place.

I sigh to myself, taking my bifocals off and rubbing my face with dusty hands. It’s been three years since I was elected sheriff of Los Gothamos, and the third year the town’s crime has gone up. Some days it feels like the town gets worse by the minute, and today’s one of those days.

If they can’t keep that damn brothel in line I’m gone have the mayor shut it down,” I say standing from my desk and placing my hat on my head. “That fat, little man is more trouble than he seems, as well. Mark my words.

That's right. Gordon looks like Clint Eastwood.

Character You Would Like to Play: Barry Allen/The Flash

Basic Backstory and Powers of Character:
Born in Keystone City, Kansas in 1850, Barry Allen was just a boy when the bloody border war between Kanas and Missouri took place. Barry was just 14 when the Confederacy surrendered to the Union. Although that didn't end the border war in the midwest. At the age of seventeen, Barry signed up as a deputy of Central City Sheriff Jason "Jay" Garrick. As the youngest deputy, Barry was charged with taking care of prisoners in the Keystone City jail.

Six months ago, Barry was charged with transporting a prisoner from Arizona back to Kansas. The trip with Ed Thawne proved to be life chaning for Barry. In New Mexico, Ed disarmed Barry, shot him, and left him for dead. Dying in the New Mexico mountains, a mysterious Indian The man known only as Windrunner, performed an ancient spell on Barry and conjured the power of the lightning itself to save the young deputies life and helped hm return home to Kansas. The ritual that revived Barry soon proved to have strange side effects. Riding the horse that the Indian gave him, Barry learned that he and the horse could outrun a speeding train. Barry also is able to move and react in at superhuman speeds. Keeping these abilities a secret, he fights the outlaws of Kansas and Missouri as the masked speedster Flash, The Fastest Man in The West.

Character's Speech Font: Georgia and Red

Sample Post: (Between three to five paragraphs with dialogue)

Keystone City, Kansas

The horse underneath me neighs slightly as I guide him down the trail.

"Easy, Max."

Max is a strange horse....well, stranger that just being able to outrun anything that moves. It sometimes feels like he can read my thoughts and emotions. Even now it seems like he's nervous because I'm nervous. I'm riding out the West's ranch. I'm going to ask Mr. and Mrs. West for Iris' hand in marriage.

Just then, the bells from the city's church go off and shatter the quiet Sunday morning. That's the signal that trouble's going down. I pat Max and turn him around.

"Let's go, boy."

I squeeze my legs around his waist and we take off down the trail so fast I hold on to my hat to keep it from blowing off.

"Everyone needs to chill!"

Lenny Snart. Former bounty hunter turned outlaw. Only he would be dumb enough to rob the bank on a Sunday morning. He's dashing through the town's dirt streets with his gun held high.

Max and I appear in the middle of town. The scarlet bandana wrapped around my face to disguise my identity.

"Howdy, Len!"

He flinches as Max raises up before him. I leap off the horse and go to work. Before Snart can get a shot off, his Colt lies on the ground in pieces.

"Might be hard to fire that thing."

I pull my gun out and level it at Snart.

"I believe Sheriff Garrick might want to have some words with you."

I hear Jay's horse clodding down the street. Before he even gets a chance to see me, I'm gone and already back on the path towards the West's Ranch.

Right now, I'd rather take on ten Len Snart's than face Iris' parents.

APPLICATION FOR DC: 1870
Character:
Nighthawk (Hannibal Hawkes)
Backstory: Nighthawk's tale does not begin in the American West. No, it starts many hundreds of years earlier, in ancient Egypt, when Prince Khufu - and his beloved Chay-Ara - are murdered by the evil priest Hath-Set. Had Hath-Set not used an enchanted blade, the story would've ended there. Instead, the royal couple were cursed to be reincarnated again and again, fated each time to die at the hand of their killer, to be reborn as well.

After those days in Egypt, Khufu comes back to life as, among others, a knight in fifth century Britain and a blacksmith in Germany in the thirteenth century. In 1839, his soul returns in the newborn Hannibal Hawkes, the son of merchant John Hawkes, an Englishman travelling the country with his wife Celia. He has no recollection of his past lives.

Hannibal grows up learning his father's trade, becoming particularly adept at repairs. John also teaches his son how to use firearms, primarily the six-shooter, a necessary defense against the criminals that plague the travelling family. A ten-year old Hannibal finds he has a natural talent for violence in a fight with a pair of teenage bullies.

In 1856, John Hawkes dies trying to ease an argument in a saloon. Six months later, Hannibal buries his mother too. Already struggling with disease, the loss of her husband is too much to bear for Celia. Hannibal, now seventeen years old, is left to travel the West on his own. His only possessions are his father's wagon home/workshop and trusty black stallion Nightwind.

Three years later, Hannibal has earned a reputation as the "Fix-It-Man", being capable of repairing anything. He settles momentarily at Slaughter Swamp, around which a small settlement has grown. However, Hannibal discovers, the town is being ruled over by the criminal brothers Ryan and Cyrus Gold. An attempt to rally the townspeople against the duo fails.

Determined to see justice done, Hannibal dons the guise of Nighthawk for the first time. So, the second confrontation with the criminal brothers ends with Hannibal - now wearing a mask, dressed in black and with a white hawk emblazoned on his chest - killing Cyrus Gold. The body is left to rot in Slaughter Swamp, while brother Ryan flees. Nighthawk is hailed as a hero.

Hannibal leaves Slaughter Swamp shortly thereafter. For the next two years, Nighthawk makes sporadic appearances and he becomes something of a legend. Shortly before the start of the American Civil War, Hannibal saves Jim Peyton, an eleven-year old orphan, from death at the hands of a group of outlaws. Hannibal takes the boy under his wing. The youth proves helpful in a number of Nighthawk's adventures.

1861. Civil war erupts. Hannibal enlists in the Union army, fighting in most of the bigger battles. During this time, he meets Katherine Manser, the bounty hunter known as Cinnamon. They fall in love. The war ends in 1865 and Hannibal returns to his work as a repairman, Katherine and Jim at his side. When trouble is afoot, the crime-fighting duo of Nighthawk and Cinnamon is there to meet it.

Six years later, 1870. The Nighthawk identity has all but retired, coming into action only in the rarest - or the most dire - of circumstances. Jim Peyton, twenty years old, has left Hannibal's care and now lives in Los Gothamos, becoming a sheriff's deputy. Hannibal, his wife Cinnamon and five year old son Hector have settled in St. Roch, Louisiana. For now, at least, life is good.

How he talks: Hannibal Hawkes, mild-mannered repairman, will have his speech defined by Trebuchet MS. When he is the vigilante Nighthawk, his speech will be bolded.

Sample:
Quote:

It was still soft to the touch. Hannibal Hawkes' fingers ran along the black cotton shirt, up to the white hawk emblazoned on its front. The domino mask, partially ripped below the right eye, lay on top of it. Hawkes studied the outfit, smiling faintly to himself. He was sitting on his wagon, which doubled both as a home and a workshop. His tools were beside him, the wooden box carrying the costume rested in his lap.

"Honey?" Hannibal froze at the sound of his wife's voice, coming from the other side of the wagon. He jumped off the wagon, dove under it and hid the costume in a small space inbetween the vehicle's front wheels.
Katherine turned the corner, setting down a bag of supplies beside she. She shook her head as her husband rolled out from underneath the cart. Hannibal lay there, looking up at her with a wide grin. He took a handkerchief from his pocket and wiped the sweat from his forehead.
"Hey Cinnamon", he cooed. "Just working on those wheels. I thought they were a little rickety on the way over here."
The redheaded woman folded her arms across her chest. While she attempted to look stern, she couldn't resist her lips creeping into a little smile. "You're supposed to be working on Mrs. Clay's clock", she replied.

Hannibal got up, putting the handkerchief back in one of his overall's pockets. He had a worker's tan and his hair was greasy. His hands, like his face, were covered in sand and dirt. They closed around her waist. For a moment, she considered feigning disgust with his appearance, but he pulled her in, his hands reaching up to hold her face, their lips locking.

"Mrs. Clay can wait", he said as he took her hand and led her into the wagon.

Oh, I don't have anything planned. I just thought I was required to play Jay in all games.

I've actually got two characters in mind, but no ideas yet. And I refuse to pick up a character without ideas ready to go. I've seen that go badly for too many players.

I'd say see what the player who applies for Superman has got going on. I know there was someone who expressed interest in him, but I don't know if they'll go through with it.

Character You Would Like to Play: Diana Prince

Basic Backstory and Powers of Character: Diana grew up a life of luxury and as close to royalty as one could get in America. Her father was a cattle rancher in Montana when a U-S Marshall by the name of Steve Trevor enlisted the aid of Diana's father to help him bust up a cattle rustling ring. He agreed to over his wife's protests because he felt it was the right thing to do. Diana not only fell in love with Steve but she always had a yearning to escape her upbringing and to do what was right like Steve. Her mother forbade her to do it, but Diana swore one day she would. The night Steve and Diana's father were to arrest those involved with the Rustling ring Diana snuck off to watch. Tragically Steve's contact betrayed him and in the ensuing gun fight Diana's father was killed and Steve was wounded taking a bullet to defend Diana. Diana swore vengenace but that wasn't good enough for her mother who disowned Diana and demanded that Steve leave the Montana territory and if he ever returned she would have him arrested somehow someway. While accompaning Steve out of Montana Steve saw something in Diana she had a gift and drive to carry out justice he taught her everything he knew, but he knew someone else who could teach her more. He knew she would do more good out in the frontier than behind a desk so he convinced her Bounty Hunting was for her. He left her in the care of a Shaman who taught her things about the human body that no one could ever imagine possible. How to "dodge" a bullet but telling when a person was going to shoot by the way they held a gun and how their fingers would react just before the trigger was pulled, use a rope, how to press her body beyond normal endurance in terms of will and strength, and where on the human body pressure could be applied to make anyone tell her anything.

Character's Speech Font: This will work (Arial/Blue)

Sample Post: (Between three to five paragraphs with dialogue)

Diana sat in the corner of the saloon waiting for Hank Wilkerson to arrive.

The minute she saw him she nodded to the barkeep. He nodded back to her and he motioned for to another person and quickly everyone backed away from him.

Hank drew his gun and fired. Diana dodged the buillet and in a flash was across the room and nailed him with a right cross.

She said, "Hello Hank remember me from Dodge City, did you really think I would forget you and Snake? You two robbed a bank and shot three innocent people. You two will answer for that!"

Hank tried to get up but Diana threw her rope around him and hog-tied him.

She asked, "Where is Snake Hank? We can do this the nice way or the you really pissed me off way."

Hank said, "Go to hell!"

Diana replied, "You first you son of a b****! I tried to be nice but you decided to be an idiot. Wrong move!." She then applied pressure on his stomach and twisted.

She says, "Now where is Snake?"

Hank stared into space and said almost in a trance, "The abandonned mine 3 miles south of here. 200 feet down."

Diana smirked. She said to the barkeep, "Go get the Sheriff."

Gah, I tried to resist doing this, but screw it. No one else seems too interested.

Character You Would Like to Play: Sir Bruce Wayne, "The Bat"

Basic Backstory and Powers of Character: On a winter's night in 1849, the Wayne family's carriage was stopped by a masked bandit demanding their valuables. Though Thomas Wayne agreed to let him have whatever he wanted in exchange for his family's safety, the bandit grew agitated and shot him dead as he escaped. The trauma of the incident forced Thomas' wife into cardiac arrest, killing her aswell and leaving their young son Bruce an orphan. Forever changed by the incident, young Bruce was taken into the care of the family aide known only as Pennyworth, an immigrant from Europe. But as he matured into a young man, the boy showed no emotion towards anyone he came into contact with - a mind clouded by revenge driving him every step of the way. One night, when a fifteen year old Bruce witnessed a gang riding into his native home of Gotham City, he followed them on horseback and was nearly killed when spotted. But rather than become a victim, he was saved by a mysterious stranger belonging to an ancient cult of vigilants calling themselves The Order.

Inspired to take action when he read up on The Order's exploits, Bruce set off for shores abroad to hone his body into the peak of physical endurance. But realizing that he also needed to understand science and the basic principles of criminal psychology, Wayne first made his way to England to study with an eccentric professor named Abraham Van Helsing. Though the man was clearly mad, Bruce found himself fascinated by Van Helsing's study of Nosferatu and the living dead, both of which the professor had claimed to encounter before. Seeing the glint of terror in the professor's eyes as he spoke of them, Bruce finally picked up on what else he needed in order to fight against the outlaws of Gotham - the ability to strike terror into their hearts.

Heading to Scotland Yard, Bruce studied the methods of a common police inspector while taking in nightly lessons from Buddhist monks on how to master the silent arts. His exploits eventually saw him in Japan, learning firsthand of the methods from ancient samurai warriors. By the time Bruce had turned 24, he was a master of martial arts and a brilliant detective. But it was the fearsome images from Van Helsing's werewolf and vampire studies that stuck with him the most - that look of a black and terrible creature of the night. Realizing that his destiny lied within those fantastic mythologies, Bruce returned to Gotham City to enact his vigilante crusade against the lawless. Taking solace in the caverns beneath the Wayne Ranch, Bruce crafted an alter-ego to fit his idealism and his bizarre taste for the darkest corners of the world - that of the mysterious Bat-Man.

Character's Speech Font: Franklin Gothic Bold for Bats, Century Gothic Bold for Bruce

Sample Post: (Between three to five paragraphs with dialogue)

"Quickly, Pennyworth... mustn't be room for any error."

Pennyworth grimaced through the darkness as he followed the light of his master's lantern, watching as they both descended from the spoils of the Wayne Ranch to the darkened stone of the caverns beneath. He couldn't imagine how any sane man would want to spend his time down here - but then again, he wasn't quite sure that his master was the definition of sanity. But despite the cold and dampened corners of the caves, Bruce Wayne took to them immediately. For the first time in very many years, he almost felt at home within them.

"Quite the hurry we're in, Master Bruce. Any chance you might feel the need to enlighten me on tonight's escapades?"

Wayne placed the lantern on the wooden table in the corner, as his horse began to neigh with life. He had been keeping an ear out all over Gotham for Boss Grissom's next move on the Mayor's ranch, and tonight was when they planned to attack. Luckily the Mayor had been arranged to be moved to the sanction of Father Lucius Fox's mission, thanks to an urgent telegram placed by Pennyworth earlier. All was coming to plan - all that was left was for Wayne to take care of Grissom's boys himself.

But first, that would require a bit of change in dressing.

"Certainly. Once the Grissom boys reach the outside of Kane Canyon, I'm gonna set up a trap that's sure to work. Just gotta time it right."

As Wayne began to shed his wool suit and replace it with dark leather trappings, Pennyworth lit the tip of his pipe. "And let us say you don't manage to do so. What then, sir?"

"Then The Mayor will be dead by dawn."

Bruce threw the weighted cloak across his shoulders, as he fastened the pouched belt across his torso. Pennyworth had seen it a million times over, but he still hadn't gotten used to the sight of his master's disguise. It was quite inhuman looking, on the verge of fantastic. Even the way Wayne moved about within it was strangely fitting to this character he had began to find himself portraying night after night. But as Wayne would constantly assure him, "Practice makes perfect."

"Well, we can't have that, can we?"

"'Reckon not, Pennyworth. But I don't think he or Gotham has to worry tonight. After all,"

Lastly, he applied the horned mask and hood, tying it tightly in the back and fastening the chinstrap. Instantly, his voice became a low growl - as if he were speaking from the planes of hell itself.

"When am I ever not prepared?"

Seriously, awesome app there, MB. I look forward to working with you.

Love that you threw in Van Helsing. I plan on using some fictional/historical figures as well.

EDIT: I just realized how dumb it is to say I'll be incorporating fictional characters...No crap. I meant literary/folk characters.

Character Application

DC: 1870

Character You Would Like to Play: Oliver Queen. Tózi Wahin Kpe / The Green Arrow

Basic Backstory and Powers of Character: Lieutenant Oliver Queen was a willing recruit into Union forces at the start of the American Civil war. In 1863 he was assigned to one of the unions furthest outposts out on the frontier. It was during this time that whilst out on patrol Lieutenant Queen happened upon a group of native men dragging a young woman into the undergrowth. Following them, Queen made no hesitation in trying to stop what turned out to be an assault on the woman. Queen battled valiantly and killed the men, but he was gravely wounded during the confrontation. The young woman kneeling over him was the last thing he saw before his world went black.

When Oliver finally awoke he found himself in a tent, being tended to by the natives. Weak and still at risk, the Chief of the tribe, Rain-In-The-Face, invited Queen to stay until his wounds were healed, as a thank you for saving his daughter. Queen agreed to stay and lived amongst the people in peace, learning their ways and bearing witness to their culture.

After a few weeks Queen was almost well enough to return to his own people. As he was making his preparations, the camp was attacked in the night by a rival tribe. During the chaos, Queen lost his gun in the confrontation. He managed to find himself a bow and quiver of arrows and reentered the intense fray. The men of the camp managed to turn back their attackers, with Queen firing the arrow that took out the enemy leader. After this act of selflessness and bravery the Lakota people welcomed Oliver Queen into their tribe, granting him the name Tózi Wahin Kpe. Green Arrow.

Character's Speech Font: Georgia. Green

Sample Post: (Between three to five paragraphs with dialogue) Rain battered the plains relentlessly as the four men crouched in the long grasses. Night had fallen just over an hour ago and the plains had been transformed into a endless black swathe. In the distance, firelight highlighted the silouhette of the camp. Pawnee thieves sat nestled amongst the ponies they had stolen from the Lakota. The trail had been easily followed and within a day, the four men had arrived upon their quarry.

The biggest of the men turned and crouched lower, regarding his companions. "So what now?" he asked, resting his steely glare on his fellow warriors.

"We wait until dawn, then steal the ponies back. We are outnumbered here. There can be no fight". Replied a short stocky man, his eyes masked by the black paint that covered them. The slender warrior that crouched next to him grunted in approval.

"No" came the firm response from the last man in the group. His skin was white, unlike the darker skin of his fellows and even behind the paint he wore upon his face, his eyes shone a brilliant blue. "We do it tonight. They've rode hard with our ponies. They will be tired and out of sorts. We skirt the perimeter of their camp and take out any sentries. Then we use the dark to panic the ponies. In the melee we enter the camp, one from each side. We get in there, kill them all and take back out animals".

Each of the three other Lakota warriors looked at each other for input, their faces dark. Finally the big man spoke up again. "It will be suicide Tózi. We did not come here to simply walk into their arrows. We must find another way".

Oliver Queen gazed at each of the three men around him. "So what will you tell our people when you get home Iron Crow?" His gaze penetrated the big Lakotas own icy glare. "Will you tell them that a few Pawnee left you cowering in the dark?" He swung upon the other two. "And what about you two? Spotted Tail and Yellow Bear, will you gain the honour and respect as warriors that you are so eager to gain?" Queen rested back on his heels and sighed. "Look, I am not of your peoples blood and maybe I never will be fully understand all of your ways but when I look upon that camp their I see nothing but thieves, beggars and scoundrels. They are coyotes, nothing more than yelping pups and we are the wolves. You are of Lakota blood and they have our property. So tonight, we go in there and we take it back and let the earth take back those whimpering thieves!"

The air went silent as the three men nodded their grim approval. Queen smiled as he held his bow and his knife out in front of him. "Well then, I'll see you on the other side!" And with that, he melted into the dark grasses and out of sight.

Harl is approved for Nighthawk

And nice GA app, Op. Always loved Dances With Wolves.

I'll be applying for my second character, since we need some villains in this mug.

DC: 1870

Character You Would Like to Play: Slade Wilson/Deathstroke

Basic Backstory and Powers of Character:

Born in 1825 around Independence, Missouri, Slade Wilson spent the first part of his life as a farmer. At the outbreak of the Civil War, Wilson signed up and joined up with Confederate Commander William Quantrill and his band of soldiers. Quantrill's Raiders cut a path of destruction and mayhem across the midwest during the Civil War and

In 1863, Wilson was wounded by a stray round that struck his head. He survived, but he was blinded in his right eye. In late 1864 with the war winding down, Slade and a group of soldiers from the Raiders broke out and became outlaws. Wilson was the leader, followed by British outlaw Nathan "Wintergree" Green. Included in the group were two sets of brothers. Cole, Jim, and Bob Younger and Frank and Jesse James. The seven men beacme the most fearsome outlaws in the midwest. After constantly butting heads with Jesse James, Slade and Wintergreen left the group in 1867 and handed control of the gang over to the James Brothers.

Slade changed his name, became a hog farmer, and moved to Nebraska with his wife and two children, Joseph and Rose. In 1869, Slade's wife was killed by Scarlet Fever. Just ten months after her death, the once fearsome outlaw lives in peace with his two children.....until a young man comes to visit him.

Character's Speech Font: Franklin Gothic Medium and Orange

Sample Post: (Between three to five paragraphs with dialogue)

"Ain't this a sad sight?"

The gray haired man looks up from the hogpen at the young man sitting on a chesnut horse. The young man smiles at the older man with cocky assurance.

"Here I come to find me a killer and all I found was a broken down pig farmer."

"I don't know what you're talking about."

The gray haired man turns away from the younger man, shielding his eyepatch covered eye.

"You're name's Slade WIlson, ain't it? The meanest damn killer the midwest has ever seen."

"I don't know what you're talking about. My name's Wilson Grant."

The farmer turns away from the man on the horse, stepping over the hogs.

"You rode with my uncle John Lawton during the war. He said you were one cold-hearted son of a *****."

"I ain't like that no more," the man says as he climbs over the hog pen.

"What's your name anyway?"

"My name's Floyd Lawton. You can call me Deadshot, though. I'm a cold blood killer like you, except I ain't had time to catch up. I only killed five men so far."

"What do you want?" Wilson asks.

"I need your help with something. Down in Texas is a man who's got a pretty price on his head. A thousand dollars to kill him. Think about that money. You could buy some more land, buy your wife a new dress."

"My wife's passed."

"I apologize for that."

"What did thiis fella do, anyway?"

"Cut a whore. Cut her nose off, cut her eyes out, cut her teets off, even cut off her cunny. This son of a ***** has got it coming."

Wilson turns and looks at Lawton, the sight of his black eyepatch causes Lawton to flinch.

"We all got it coming, kid."

Thanks Byrd. I love Dances... too. Unfortunately, been an ignorant Brit, I don't know very much about the time period other than "Yee Haw! Wild West!" other than from books, movies and Wiki. So yeah, I took a lot of inspiration from that one movie for that app :P

Speaking of apps. This does sorely need some villains up in this mother. Batman/MB... Hit me up on MSN when we're on for I must discuss something with thee.

Unforgiven is my favorite western of all time, bar none. I think it's Eastwood's best movie in all the ones he's done.

*Sigh*

To apply for another character, or not to apply for another character. That is the question.
