Roger Ebert tried watching a movie right after seeing The Grey. He lasted 30 minutes. He said wouldn't have been fair to the 2nd film.

I know how he felt.

I really want to watch this.

The Grey and Chronicle seem excellent from what I've been hearing so I'll try catching both.

Fantastic movie. I can't remember the last time I saw a movie this intense. Its incredibly gripping from beginning to end. As great as all the wolf/survival scenes are, I think my favorite are definitely the quieter moments with the group. It has phenomenal acting across the board. My only complaint is that every time its a fake wolf on screen, you can tell right away. I don't think it takes you out of the movie but it doesn't help keep you in it. I'd say this movie is a must see. 8/10

I feel like going to see this again. This movie was very good and I see it only getting better with repeat viewings, especially with a better understanding of it's symbolism and themes.

Let me say that I didn't expect this movie to take me in the way it did, but this is seriously one of the best movies I've seen in this current decade.

As a survival film, it is flat out intense and I was on edge the entire damn movie. All of the characters, all of them...you felt for them. It was so damn heartbreaking to watch this movie, especially towards the end. And despite what happens by the end, the main moral and theme is strong.

I really just can't believe how amazing that was. The acting was great, the action was intense, everything about this movie was phenomenal.

Those wolves were ******* scary man! Once you were sucked into the atmosphere, every little sign of harm and danger scared the crap out of you and it terrified you.

Wow. 9/10

As for anyone who has seen the small horror/thriller movie 'Frozen' a couple of years back. How were the wolves in this movie compared to the ones in that? I'm guessing the ones in here are a lot more intense from everything I've been reading.

Anyone remember the poem from the end of the film? word for word?

I was thinking about frozen while watching this, i thought they were similar. But the ones here were more ruthless. Reminded me almost of american werewolf in london the way they attacked.

A word of warning though this movie is definitely not what the trailers make it out to be for the better. Sure there is the survival but most of it is quiet and a pretty deep look at death and how different men react to facing it.

This movie..was incredible. I saw it last night and I'm still processing it. I loved every moment too, from the quiet reflective scenes to the high intensity survival ones. It just kept your engrossed throughout.

This movie should've had the subtitle: Damn Nature, You Scary. Cause damn, those wolves had me jumping and uneasy the whole time.

Forgot to say this felt like a legitimate horror movie.

I was so terrified of the nature and the wolves. Constantly thought about those wolves even when they weren't in the scene. Like it felt like they could come out of nowhere.

The scene with Hernandez? when he's outside taking a pee....yeah...

Got a feeling this will be one of my top 10 by the end of the year.

Mainly because I'm still shocked by how impactful and emotional it was...but also because it was placed in January of all months. So damn great it was.

Yeah that was bad but when Davis was attacked is what scared me the most. I mean damn they had a fire going and everything, I thought they were safe.

Definitely. The trailers make it look like an Action/Horror film, but it's really not, even though it has some elements of both sprinkled here and there.

Holy....f***. This film exceeded my expectations by a mile, Liam Neeson and the cast pulled off a utterly fantastic performance. They added emotion and depth to the characters so when you see someone die off you actually care for them. I have never seen wolves to menacing in all of film, they did a great job on the horror aspect. The last time I saw a film that brings in fear and and team trying to survive was John Carpenter's The Thing. With the ending, I know many people will either hate it or love it but I loved it. Also the fact that they used Jamin Winans's Ink soundtrack for the two emotional scenes made me mark out. This is easily on my top 10 for 2012 and my hope is that Liam Neeson gets a nod for next years Oscars, this man deserves another.
9.5/10

I thought the movie was great. I loved it. Honestly, other than Schindler's List this was my favorite movie that Liam Neeson was the lead. The acting was great, the action was tense, and the ending

I actually wouldve given Neeson an Oscar nod for this (if I had my way)

8-8.5/10

PS: I heard Bradley Cooper was the lead before he dropped out. I like him but I could not see him doing justice like Neeson did
