Who would want a Dr Who video game?

I've recently just gotten into Dr Who in a big way, and I've been thinking more and more how much fun a Dr Who game could be. I'm picturing elements from Mass Effect in terms of exploration (and plot. Just replace reapers with Daleks lol), a customisable Doctor (presumably it could start with his regeneration), and you could choose a style remeniscent of your favourite Doctor.

I just think theres alot of potential for a great video game there. What do you guys think?

There's potential, and I think someone has the license. It'd just really only sell well in certain countries. I doubt it'd even be released over here in America.

With a budget like Mass Effect gets, a Dr. Who game would be amazing.

With the budget the publishers would give... it would be terrible.

Well Torchwood just got picked up by the US, and that series will come out soon, so who knows... might create Who hysteria lol

He means the American Torchwood that RTD and Julie Gardner are prepping for Fox. The UK series is aired on BBC America though.

This article talks about the possibility of the US Torchwood spin off having the same cast as the british one, and a possible american Doctor Who reboot. As much as the idea of an American Doctor Who hurts my brain, if they kept it in continuity, as a regenerated Doctor, i'd be alright with that I guess...

Also, if they're gonna reboot the series, i'd rather they do it in movie form, like the Star Trek Movie... then that would greatly increase odds of a video game.

Last I heard, last month I think, is that there's a Doctor Who game getting brainstormed.

I don't know if it's happening, but the post I read made it sound like we could get a Tenth Doctor and Eleventh Doctor game, separately.

There is a game in development. A team over on Gallifrey Base (One of the most active Doctor Who forums), including a guy that worked on the Battlefront series, is working on it, and they're hoping for a publisher to pick it up soon.

I'm curious to see how it'd work out. Atleast, from a gameplay standpoint.

I'd be down to play as either the 9th or 10th Doctor. Cool black leather jacket or deranged madman with a long brown coat. Either one would be awesome.
