The basic transformers mythology in this series is tainted by bays bubble gum pop approach.

James Cameron doing transformers would have been incredible.

They have no where to go but up. They hit rock bottom with Bayformers 2.

I'm skeptical at any genuine attempts at bringing back the "core mythology". So far the movies have been a complete mockery of any established mythology.

Personally, I'm cautiously optimistic at the moment. They aren't going to have to deal with a writers' strike and while Bay may not care personally, "worst reviewed out of the highest grossing movies ever" cant be a label Hasbro and Dreamworks/Paramounts are proud of.

I found a script, I think it's a leaked TF3, it seems to check out. Correct writer, confirms with what we've already seen. When it says core mythology

While I love both Transformers movies (yeah I did like TFROTF) when it comes to bringing back the "core mythology" for Bay probably means adding more fart and pee jokes.

Who is Bay kidding? he's not exactly known for human or robot drama, listen up Michael Bay just do what you do best and let other directors handle drama.

Aren't childhood memories something to be embarrassed at, disgusted at and forgotten as quickly as possible especially in today's decadent society? Transformers:ROTF,The Matrix of leadership,Energon

If you're saying what I think you are,all of that stuff was established in those movies. They honored it,but with you,it's just your hate over the movies or movie that's talking when you said there were was no core mythology in the movies to begin with,suggested. It's not like they took say Cybertron for example,and made it into a god damn planet that looks literally like a cake.

There is plenty of G1 core mythology to dabble with, Unicron, The Ark, not to mention a huge cast of unused Autobots and Decepticons all with back stories that can be incorporated. My problem would be if he butchered the core mythology much like he did with the Primes, the Matrix, and Jetfire .

The Primes and The Matrix are salvagable IMO, but obviously Jetfire isnt as he's dead, cant believe 2 of my favourite autobots are dead already!
