Thats kinda depressing that pc version didn't even break 100 thousand units.
The sales in general seem pretty low. I'v seen small indie games with basically no marketting sell more. Very odd. Perhaps the numbers are wrong or it doesn't include digital. But when you look at that, no wonder games pander to the lowest common denominator. Sad. Sad. Sad.

I hope the numbers will be better. I definitely want to see a sequel. Perhaps maybe even a remake of the first game, since I never played it.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind a remake of the original either. I played it AGES ago, but sadly it's dated pretty badly now.

I'd take a lower budget, less risk game with substance than a AAA budget game pandering to Call Of Duty droogs any day of the week. If this was the case with Dragon Age I think we wouldn't have ended up with Dragon Age 2: Electric Boogaloo. Torchlight has a tiny budget with a small team, great solid game, made quite abit of money.

Considering that the last game came out 8 years ago and was widely panned I don't think 656K is that low.

Also consider that Portal 2 sold less than that in twice as many days, but went on to sell 3 million by June. I've had several people on Xbox Live ask me about Deus Ex, so I'm hoping positive word of mouth will carry it to a similar number.

I think a part of the problem is people seemed confused about what Deus Ex was exactly. I had multiple people, from my friends to the teller at the Gamestop ask me to explain the game to them.

I don't really want to see a remake of the original. There's still some room to do another prequel if they wish, or they could even set DE4 in another part of the world or something. I wouldn't mind seeing parts of Europe through the Deus Ex lens.

So, finally finished it. It was fun. I might even start a second playthrough right away.

What weapons did you guys prefer and what were some of the abilities you didn't waste any Paxis points on? I mainly used the combat rifle, 10-mm and stun gun. Occasionally the sniper and things like the heavy rifle and rocket launcher only if I had to.

Skipped stealth, because IMO being silent on your feet and whizzing by people like a Ninja, was almost as good as not being able to be seen. Didn't get any of the recoil and aim abilities, because I was already a good shot. I didn't even upgrade the Typhoon at all.

Stun Gun, Combat Rifle, Grenade Launcher, Sniper Rifle was my final loadout.

I was rolling with my 10 milli, shotgun, and stun gun mostly. I also carried around a silent sniper rifle for the whole game that I rarely used, but I figured it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

There were a lot of things I didn't spend any Praxis points on, but I finished the game with 12 PP just sitting there unused. :[

I think I had 3 unused. Did anyone kill any of the "Zombies"? I tried not to harm anyone at the end, because they weren't in control. But when I saw that room filled with Belltower Guards, I turned on the robot.

I think the game started to go downhill once they introduced the zombies. All strategy was thrown out the window. You can just run past them and theyll maybe hit you once.

I tried not to kill them at first, but... they were standing in my way. Plus, the ending I chose... yeah. Not too many of them coming away unscathed from that.

I didn't kill any of them.

I think what they could have done was have the zombies still use their weapons and such and patrol but just more erratically and faster paced in addition to the regular old charge and wail on Adam variant.

I still tried to sneak around them. Only when the only other option would have been lethal force, I decided to just run through them.

I hadn't been going for the non-lethal playthrough and I STILL didn't kill any of them, I mean, they were just people man! Wondering why Sarif didn't turn into a zombie though.

Just used heaps of energy bars and did a whole heap of double non-lethal takedowns. I felt like Cyborg Jason Bourne :P

I'm guessing Sarif didn't buy TYM's biochip which makes a good deal of sense really.

I didn't have that many energy bars on me. Rarely bought any. Used them all up at the end, to bust through walls and take out the Belltower guards that were coming at me. Then put a couple of bullets into Zhao's face.

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
How does the game continue, if you have the chip? Does it end right there? Does someone save your ass?

@Nathan,

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
When you fight namir, your chip gets activated and you have to do the hardest fight scene in the game. You're glitching out, can't use any abilities or see properly, no regen health and you go down almost instantly. Really frustrating, and at the time of the chip thing I KNEW I shouldn't take it, but I was in the zone of completing every quest. Then when you see Reed, she fixes it up for you so you're fine in that end bit

I alternated between the stun gun and 9mm fully upgraded depending on how merciful I was feeling towards whoever I was up against. I saved the heavy MG for bosses.

To save Malik I had to pull out the silenced sniper rifle lol, that was intense.

I'm going through again on the hardest difficulty trying to get the pacifist achievement in the process and the tranq rifle is amazing... but I hate how sometimes it winds up killing whoever you knock out with it.

Im noticing the same thing at work. We didn't have many preorders, but we've sold quite a few since it has come out. Hell, i didn't pay any attention to the game until the Wednesday after it came out and that was because everyone at work was talking about it. I wasn't even planning on getting it at all, let alone the week it dropped. Glad i did though.

This might be interesting for anyone who has the PC version. I think I'll use the Mod to give me the required Praxis points, to unlock all Augmentations. Just to mess around a bit.

Maybe a very extensive 1-3 hour demo (with the ability to continue saves on when you buy the retail version) would have helped out. Like the old freeware days.
