That EOnline article has a Captain America poll and the results are:
Quote:
![]() Well, if Marvel is really monitoring the internet for reaction to these candidates as Twitter guy claims, then it looks like we have our Cap! ![]() And no, this SHH poll doesn't count, it doesn't catch enough different demographics.

f***ing teeny bopper demographic. what a bunch of idiots...holy hell. The name of the poll should be changed to "who do you think looks hotter." It clearly has no bearing on who is more fit to play Cap.

Wait, why is John Krasinski there, if he's been eliminated?

^He is on there because EOnline doesn't have the slightest clue of what's going on. JK and CC have been eliminated but both are on there. Evans and Vogel should be on there with Hedlund(as they claim he screen tested from a THR article that mentions no such thing
).I only posted that for the lulz, don't take anything away from that. |

Wow! That is really disheartening. If there is any truth to the fact that Marvel bowed to public opinion with regards to JK, then I see Tatum landing this role. I am bracing myself for bad news. |

^Yea , that info was posted here a few days ago. Most likely he is being looked at for Bucky and EW got their info mixed. Feige has gone on record saying an American will be cast in the role and he is from Romania.

I'm rapidly losing 100% interest in my favorite Marvel character.
How We Can FIX This (will cause epic delay in film release): fire Joe Johnson and the script writers -Hire Ed Brubaker to write the script for Captain America, seeing how his current run for Captain America (pre-death) is not only brilliant and award winning, but he's also understands the character enough that he could pen a completely believable script that both the fans and general audience can appeal to. -Hire someone else, anyone else! At least someone that likes comic books. Spread the AGE LIMIT -This makes sure that while Channing Tatum is even a "contender" for the role, Matt Damon, Aaron Eckhart, Mark Valley, Leo Dicaprio all have chances to make Tatum realize he'd never bet a decent Cap.

Well if they want to attract girls, Tatum is not a bad choice. Wasn't there a research saying that girls is a steady movie market, instead of guys who get distracted on games, sports or other entertainment outlets?

I still feel that some surprise option is going to pop up or some dropped actor is going to make a comeback so I'm not that worried.
![]() The official announcement is what I care about. I won't start freaking out until then.

I know that this is an origin film, so logically it would seem like we'd need a really young Cap. But if this guy is going to be eventually sharing the screen with RDJ and giving him orders, I have a little trouble seeing even a really strong young actor doing that. It's tough to imagine cocky Tony Stark, who is supposed to be in his mid 30's at the youngest, listening to a guy who looks like he just graduated college. But someone like Eckhart? Hell, yeah. As a matter of fact, I think that Eckhart is the best possible choice around, period. He can be uber-charasmatic (Thank You For Smoking) strong-willed and heroic (The Dark Knight) and completely vicious (In the Company of Men). And I know he's in his early 40's, but he doesn't look it. The guy has a presence, and he LOOKS like Steve Rogers, at least to me. Add on another 10-20 lbs of muscle and he'd be perfect. |

Though I have a bad feeling about Tatum, there is part of me that senses that Cap will actually be someone we haven't heard about or at least someone who hasn't been heavily discussed.

Simply making a cash-in movie would not be a smart move.

As much as I like Eckhart, DiCaprio, or Valley, changing the character to fit the actor is usually not the best move. Rogers is relatively young when WW2 begins so I don't think the actor should be older than 33-34 years old. The use of makeup can help de-age an actor by 3-5 years, but asking an actor who is about 10-15 years older than the character is just a little too much.
