What makes this so different from the Thor casting?

The excitement and anticipation has really died among us fans... I feel like we are all just frustrated and tired of this. I know that a month ago, I was pretty excited about casting news...now, i'm just exhausted.

No one is doing manips/photoshop anymore either... This cap movie is totally just Meh now.

This has been the most long and drawn out casting decision that I can recall. Every week they release a completely different list of the "Final 5" candidates. I'm over it.

The Captain America casting is like the Green Lantern casting. At first,Some of us will be angry,sad,depressed,etc,etc. Eve1ntually....We'll all be happy with it

LOL.....Casting one of worst actors going today in Tatum as Cap would seal the doomed films fate.

I predict it will do horribly internationally and probably will fall below expectations here in the US.

Channing Tatum...are you freaking kidding me?!?!? has it really come to this? The guy just has "dumb" written all over his face and has the emotional range of a 2x4. I saw him lift his eyebrows once...but it was only for a second and then he looked fatigued.

He even has "douche-bag" and "jock" written all over his face. a real contender we have here!

Of all the names I've seen bandied about the past few weeks, Chris Evans sets best with me. He can act, he has the right look and oozes charisma. No more FF for him, so he won't be juggling superhero roles. Let's do it Marvel!!!

They should just cast Evans and get it over with. At least the film will have a chance at being decent and successfull with him as Caps.

The rest of the clowns being rumoured (especially Tatum) would be EPIC FAIL casting at it's finest. LOL

I am coming around to the idea that they should just give the role to Alexander Skarsgard. Sure, he's Swedish, but who really gives a s--t anymore. He plays a better American on True Blood then most Americans. Plus, he looks the part. He got screwed on being Thor, so give him this.

.........btw, I think we can put to bed this idea that Marvel, JJ, and the casting crew are some hard to impress geniuses if they're bringing in a guy like Channing Tatum. I mean do they really need an audition to know how atrocious of an actor he is? His work precedes him. So when a guy like McPartlin didn't make final cuts, I'm not buying the only reason as acting.

If they are actually considering Channing Tatum...they must really be having some SERIOUS casting problems. At this point I'm actually pretty worried about the movie. This seems like it's taking a long time to cast...and the original deadline per Johnson was the 1st of this month.

I just hope that, if it comes down to it, they push the movie back instead of rushing it and possibly completely messing it up just to meet a deadline.

Can't say I disagree with him, except the part when he wants to think "outside the box" and cast a non-Caucasian actor for the role. He did confessed of not being a comic books guy, though.

I mentioned in the other thread that Tatum's emergence as a candidate has almost convinced me that the auditions so far have been a collective failure. It may not be quite as glum and doom as that sounds but where there's smoke, there's fire. And Channing Tatum is thick, suffocating smoke.
