Chevelle needs to be even more popular.

lol, dude you may not have liked the guy's records, but that's harsh! anyway, 'grunge', if you want to call it that, would have died as a fashoin statement anyway, regardless, and Cobian was getting tired of Nirvana's formula, he was looking to do more things like the acoustic MTV album.

ok, some more....

Leonard Cohen is not depressing to listen to.

I love Pink Floyd, but Syd Barrett's 2 solo albums are better than their entire output.

Sinatra is boring.

Chris Cornell's 'You know my name' is quite possibly the best Bond theme tune, the mix on the opening credits anyway, it needs those violins in the background to be truly the best Bond theme.

The Screaming Tree's 'Dust' is the best album to come out of the 'grunge' explosion.

I don't see the big deal about Eric Clapton, I've never heard anything on his records that have made me sit up and take note of the guitar playing particularly, not in any way over anyone else who has made similar records.

Those all seemed pretty non-unpopular, so I figured I'd just throw my two cents in.

Sinatra, I have not got into, I don't know what it is, a friend said she wanted me to listen to more, but when she would put him on we would be talking etc, so i never had a proper listen. I would have to sit down with the records to properly evaluate, because right now, I always find him a bit of a turn off, maybe he is an aquired taste, or i have to drop all pre-concpetions, forget about the 'legend' etc, and just listen to the records.

another....

I love Hendrix, but his sometime friend and musical partner Arthur Lee, along with his band Love, their first three albums are better than the 3 Hendrix made in his lifetime.

The Stones got better after Brian Jones was ousted and they got Mick Taylor in.

As the Rolling Stones are my most favorite band of all time, I whole-heartedly and 100% agree to this. Its a shame that the Stones couldn't keep Taylor longer. I will also say the Stones started to go downhill after he left (even though they're not bad, they just hadn't reached the heights they had after Mick Taylor left).

Why care people always so harsh towards Cobain? Its pretty f**ked up how many harsh things I hear about Cobain and his death. He's a man who just wanted to make music. He could've cared less about fame and fortune and he said himself he wasn't that good a guitarist so why are people always trashing Cobain?

Definitely do that with Sinatra. His work at Capitol from 1953-1962 (and through Reprise up to 1965) is outstanding. In the Wee Small Hours, Songs for Swingin' Lovers, Close to You, Where Are You, and Only the Lonely - to name a few - are simply outstanding in their artistic merit. Sinatra is often credited with being the first artist to consciously utilize the idea of an album being an effective series of songs meant to convey a singular theme, story or emotion, as opposed to a hapzard collection of hit singles. In other words, the idea of a concept album is often attributed to him.

I also have to agree about The Rolling Stones and Mick Taylor. In addition to the fact that he was a significant part of three of their greatest albums - Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, and Exile on Main Street - the band was never better live. I have some recordings from the 1972 and 1973 tours - the tightness and ferocity of their playing then is incredible, and Taylor is the driving force behind so much of it.

Aside from "Pet Cemetery", the Ramones sucked.
Soundtrack can make or break a movie.
Glam Metal is better than Black Metal. As far as the music itself is concerned.

No song has ever benefitted-quality wise-from a guest rapper.

You realize you could have taken away the double negative and just said popular, right?

Not even Black Or White. I especially hate when the rap has nothing to do with the rest of the song.

Katy Perry & Miley Cyrus need to just go away.
Chrisette Michele is the greatest musical find of the 21st Century.
Lalah Hathaway is every bit the vocalist her father was, and then some.

But the rap in Black or White did have to do with the rest of the song.

Invincible is my favorite Michael Jackson album.

I have no idea why Jay-Z is always promoted as this larger than life icon. I can't even name 2 songs by the guy. Sir Mix A lot is bigger to me than Jay Z is.

Miley Cyrus doesn't bug me because if I truly dislike something or someone, I just don't think about them and just don't care.

Muse is overrated as all hell. I always heard how "amazing" and "incredible" they were live and in general. All there songs are the same to me. It's the end! We must rise! rinse and repeat. Blah.

I know, you do have a point there. This is done to promote smaller artists on their own songs. One example Kevin Rudolf's Let it Rock and Lil Wayne makes a special guest rapper appearance in order to increase single sales.

Also, its the worst offender because his rap part is so terrible I downloaded a version from youtube that cuts out his part. I would say that Lil Wayne sucks, but thats actually popular opinion. So I'll just say this:

If Tupac and Biggie were still alive, Lil Wayne would be working at McDonalds.

I a few Muse songs like Hysteria and Knights of Cydonia but some of their other songs do sound the same.

90% of the rap on the airwaves I can truly do without.
Eminem hasn't done anything good since "The Eminem Show".
I can't stand Fantasia.
Beatles' songs are immensely better when covered by other artists.
