Yup. Aside from the 3 Jimi Hendrix Experience albums, the only stuff worth getting is Band of Gypsys and Live at Woodstock.

Rap is not music...reciting over a beat or a borrowed sample has nothing musical to it.

Slayer's Reign In Blood is 28 minutes of tasteless soloing, ear numbing screaming and atonal speedy for the sake of speedy riffs....just like the rest of Slayer's catalog.

Nevermind is a mediocre album fortunate enough to have SLTS on it...In Utero is better written and better executed.

Lady Gaga,Kanye,etc are performers,not musicians....Prince is a musician,Kanye is not.

Stone Roses' self titled album is the best British album...ever.

The Black Album was the right path for Metallica...it promoted metal to an unimaginable status and millions of kids in turn were able to discover their real masterpieces like Master of Puppets and Ride The Lighting which they otherwise wouldn't have been able to.Just little stat to further prove my point...from 1986 till the release of the Black album,Master sold 2 million copies...since then 4,5 million copies.

ACDC have remade the same 3 songs 50 times.

Robert Plant sounds like a strangling cat.

Kurt Cobain's voice is annoying.
Rage Against the Machine was the best band of the 90's.
Nas is the most overrated rapper of all-time.
A Tribe Called Quest > Wu Tang Clan.
A Tale of Two Andres (Mac Dre & Andre Nickatina) is the best hip-hop album of all-time.

Borrowed from Lalah Hathaway: (the text, not the sentiment)
"'What's The 411?' happened 17 years ago. Singing over hip-hop is no longer impressive. Write a ****ing song!"

I liked some of the stuff on the 'Cry of Love' album, but some of it was rubbish, too. 'Angel' is a classic, and I thought 'Freedom', 'Drifting' and 'Ezy Rider' were pretty good.

Chris Brown hasn't been given a second chance. (Not saying he should or shouldn't have yet).

A lot of the artists today who people say are just copying past artists don't have a lack of creativity. There's just not much left to be made new or really reinvent, at least in this time period. (I could be swayed on this one if anyone wants to object).

I agree somewhat. There are still some acts that are original, but there isn't much public support for innovation that there were in previous decades. Those bands aren't really as popular.

My bad. I meant, Live at the Fillmore East since that's basically an extended version of the Band of Gypsys album.

I think hip-hop has infected R & B. Not just through sampling and the guest rappers. Stupid catch phrases and hooks are rapidly taking the place of inspired lyrics. Gone are the days when we had the likes of Berry Gordy & Quincy Jones (my 17-year-old stepson talks about wanting to be a producer but doesn't know who either of these people are!) who took every step of the creative process seriously, trying to bring in the best musicians and create the best sound possible. Now it's all about the remix.

It's funny how this seems to be unpopular, but Nickelback isn't as bad as people say they are. Am I a fan? Hell no, but I don't think they're singularly responsible for ruining music like some people say they are.

Nickelback's cool. If anyone's responsible for ruining music it's Punk Rock. That Blink 182, Simple Plan, Good Charlotte crap.

Nickleback and their multitude of disgraceful copycats are the most uninspired, boring "rock bands" making music today.

And Great Pretender, that is not punk rock. Like, at all.

Kelis' Wanderland is the best R&B/Pop album of the 2000's

You mean bands that haven't been relevant in damn near a decade? Yeah, they're the one responsible for music in 2010.

Rap is not music. Never has been. Never will be.

Sebastian Bach is a better singer than Axl Rose.

The best album of the 90's is not Nirvana's 'Nevermind'. It's Jeff Buckley's 'Grace'.

I'm not a huge fan, but I like a couple of their songs. They're 100 times better than Creed, though.

It's cool and all if you don't like rap, but to degrade it by saying it isn't music just because you don't listen to it is pretty ****ing ignorant. I loathe heavy metal and country, but I'm not going to be an ass and say they aren't really music. You probably have never listened to real rap anyway. It's cool, though.
