Woo buddy, chill out. Im sure they're trying to fix it considering it is one of the biggest message boards out there. It's probably their main concern to fix it so users dont leave.

Back in Dec 2008 when the Hype had that malware problem the symptoms were slow forums, garbage being shown after the URL addresses and Adobe Acrobat being accessed (do a search and you'll find that thread -- I'm too lazy).

We're seeing two of the three symptoms again and considering that most of us have two years of Adobe software upgrades, maybe there are people with the older Adobe software that are seeing all three symptoms? Anyhow my advice to Malice would be for a virus check and to disable current ads just to be sure.

Well, now that your study time can go more efficiently without the distractions on here, you'll be done more quickly and have more free time!

There's a lot you can do by yourself...watch a movie or tv, read a book, magazine, or comics, play videogames, write, do something musical, do something artistic, or learn new hobbies. The world is your oyster.

Or, you can go outside and do things.

WTF is going on with Hype? I can barely manage to post anything through my BlackBerry anymore. When I do it takes about 20 minutes to load. More than half the time I get a message saying "Connection Timed Out". Now when I try posting through an actual computer at the VPL, damn near every time I try to post anything I get a "Lost Connection" message. Even when I don't, it's at least a 10 minute wait for anything to upload.

Hey Hype! WTF are you people doing? Why can't you fix this lag on your system? There's always been a bit of a lag on this site, but it's never been this bad before.

Here's an idea for you, and I'll try to use small words to be sure you can understand. Send out a mass email to all Hype members telling them that on July 29th and 30th, the site will be shut down for maintenance. Then you bring in some tech people and have them work for 48 hours to FIX THE F**KING LAG! Then reboot the system again on August 1st MINUS THE LAG. This way, no one complains that they can't get on during the 48 hours that the problem is being fixed. And after the problem is fixed no one complains that the site lags too much. Simple enough for you?

at this point, it's apparent they're not doing a damn thing to fix this, as they would have done so by now

it doesn't take a couple weeks + to fix a damn website, if you really gave half a ****, you'd get on it ASAP, they would have shut it down by now, had those tech guys come in and we wouldn't be having this convo

Trying to be a wiseass isn't going to make anything happen any faster, do you really think if doing what you suggested was the key it wouldn't be getting done? your idea has been done before and it was a short term fix, right now a permanent fix is in the works but it takes time, this lag is no fun for anyone but getting snarky isn't going to help.
