Anton Yelchin is still my favorite.
Him or Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Or Michael Cera. They are my top choices. |

I'd like Anton Yelchin but I get the feeling he'd be too big for that role.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt would be wasted as Olsen and Michael Cera would be good but I think he may be too big of a star for that role aswell.

Yeah, Cera would be wrong. I also cant stand him and I imagine he would just do his typical geek-stuff.
Guess that also rules out Jesse Eisenberg. |

For what its worth Sam Huntington's been my favourite of the Jimmy Olsen's shame he won't be coming back.

Never liked Huntington or what he did with Jimmy. Too goofy and "soft"-looking.
Anton Yelchin on the other hand has much more range in looks alone. He looks nerdy, geeky, cheeky, punky and also very daring and driven. Sort of like a mix between Marc McClure and the Corey Feldman from the 80s. |

I wish Adam Brody was, like, ten years younger. He'd be perfect.

Jimmy is a hard one to cast because in the end, it's a meaningful but also a thankless role. No disrespect towards the character but you can't just hired dudes like Joseph Gordon Levitt, Anton Yelchin, Michael Cera or even Jaimie Bell because it would be a waste of talent. Especially for Leviitt, who is too big for a role like this. Hell, he would be a great hero on his own one day.
I'd say it's a great role for an unknown or a guy who's an up-and-commer for sure.

That's why I recommended Bo Burnham. He wanted to get into movies, he's even written a script for Judd Apatow that he plans to star in and he was in Funny People. The only problem I see is that he's 6'5", same as Hammer. But Nathan Fillion and Neil Patrick Harris were the same height, Neil may even be taller, but they still managed to make Captain Hammer tower over Doctor Horrible. He's 20 years old, but not very known outside of Youtube surfers.

I don't think it would be a waste of talent at all actually to hire JGL or Yelchin as Jimmy Olsen. Getting a solid supporting cast and ensemble would be a plus for the Superman film. JGL would probably add some much needed umph to the Olsen role, and I have no doubt he would be the best Jimmy Olsen we would have seen onscreen ever! Imagine Anne Hathaway as Lois Lane, Gordon-Levitt as Jimmy Olsen and Armie Hammer as Clark Kent/Superman? Kick ass and FTW! |

Aaron Paul is 30, which is probably too old, but I think he could have been a really good Jimmy Olsen.

Levitt is on the road to become the (unlikely) leading man type so no to a role like this. Jimmy's an enduring character but in movie land, but in the end he's just a bit part. Get an a new commer to do Olsen. If he gets a lotta of attention, this could be the role that makes his career.

Doesn't have the traditional look, but Chris Marquette is my choice.
