Can't link the trailer here since it's a bit NSFW but the trailer looks good, as usual with Von Trier he has put some wonderful visuals but also some weird ones, he manages to round up a great cast as well. I'm absolutely excited for this.

^ Really? It got like one quick shot of what seems to be a naked Dunst from far far away, and we cant link to it? Prude much? :P
Anyways, it looks really cool! Not at all what I expectid it to look thou, I didnt know it was going to take place entirely at a party... Or will it be more? and the trailer only showed the beginning?

Imo, the trailer wasn't much, but I see anything by Von Trier, so I don't need trailers to sell his films for me.

This looks amazing and with the apocalyptic premise and the all-star cast, I'm definitely interested to watch this.

I love the scenery in the trailer, Von Trier really uses some great locations in Trollhättan.

Lars Von Trier is a genius...I can't believe that his films arent more widely heralded as the masterpieces they are.

That's great news. It's now the third time the leading actress in an Von Trier film won the Best Actress in Cannes. As for an Oscar nomination I hope so since I'd this looks like the most accessible film that Von Trier made that audience can enjoy so fingers crossed.

After Lar's work on Antichrist, yeah, I confess I'll HAVE TO see this film. It also touches on a subject that has a lot of fear for me. It'll be interesting.

It came out in August here, it's a great film.
The opening with slow-motion eerie visuals that look more like paintings than images is both beautiful and hypnotic. The movies goes on to depict the family relations around this newly-wed couple in a very intimistic yet emotional way, and all the actors are great in it. It's a no-brainer, but I'll say it anyway to all those unfamiliar with Von Trier's work, don't just read the pitch and go in there expecting The Day After Tomorrow 2 - Wedding Gone Wrong. It's a well-crafted piece of visual poetry put on screen. |

I thought Antichrist was a really good movie, though I'd never see it again for obvious reasons.
Saw Melancholia last night and at first I didn't think much of it other than the good performances and great cinematography. But as the minutes passed by the more and more the movie was stuck in my head. I loved it. I'm rooting for Kirsten Dunst to garner an Oscar-nomination, but she wasn't even nominated in the Spirt Awards which surprised me.

I saw this a week ago. I thought it was intriguing in concept and did a really good job of terrifying the audience with its overbearing since of doom and nihilism. But I found its cynicism, and shallow worldview off-putting. I didn't see Dunst's arc as one of enlightenment, but one of continual selfishness. Still the visuals, acting and use of Wagner was hypnotic for the most part.
