I'm actually quite impressed with the direction of this series now the schism has happened. While I didn't really see where Logan's book was going (seriously, why does the school need to be so insane with all the floating buildings and things - no avengers or FF headquarters EVER, and that included Avengers mansion has been so ridiculous in what it contains and can do), what with the very mutant related curriculum (hardly integrating them with human society if their main learning is how mutants changed fashion/history etc). The two titles kind of feel like WATXM is the new Generation X book, and X-Men is what it was circa Onslaught, with going on missions to protect both mutants AND humanity. The turn they made in recent years to only looking out for mutants and leaving behind the "protect everyone from mutants who would use their powers to terrorise everyone or to promote mutant supremacy over integration", was starting to bug me. If Scott could be accused of anything, it would be that. But now, hopefully by these few pages, it's a sign of times a changing.

Logan: Teach how to control their powers, fit in with the rest of the world and live normal lives. Then send those who want to go to Scott to work as superheroes to protect the world with their powers. That way they WILL be adults when they start fighting battles and wars. Then there'd be no disagreement.

I wouldn't be shocked if that's the direction the stories take prior to them all coming back together in a few years.

Particularly following Scott's comment in the last issue of Uncanny - feels like he's finally graduated.

Is Gischler gonna be writing this book post-Schism? (After this arc ends)

Don't you know the vampires are the new Spiderman, Wolverine cash cows that have to be in every comic under the sun.

Not even a little bit. This'll make X-book #2 that I'm not reading, along with Gen Hope. Scott's team FTL

Did anybody read this last issue? The reviewer at IGN said something about losing a team member, I was just curious who it was and how. I can't bring myself to pick up this book to find out myself...

It was Jubilee, but she wasn't really "lost" as in hurt or killed or anything like that. During the fight with the Sentinels, the one she was on crashed, but she got off in time and was fine, but she was approached by The Forgiven, a group of rogue vampires recently introduced during Fear, Itself, and disappeared with them since the others couldn't find her after the fight was over. It looks like that is leading into and will be the main story in the next arc.
