The Phoenix FORCE returns!!! ....but no Jean?? Why are the Avengers getting in on the action though?

This must coincide with the return of Jean. Theyve been building her return for years with the Phoenix collecting all of its peices.

It seems silly to just throw that out and have it return with no host.

The USA Today article where this was also announced says that the likely new host is going to be Hope, and the X-Men and the Avengers disagree about what to do with her. The X-Men want to protect and prepare her for its coming, while the Avengers want her handed over to them so they can try and figure out what to do.

i hope it IS Hope and that it burns her away into ashes..which in turn are spread throughout the atmosphere, re-powering all that were de-powered...

Janet is likely to return soon as well.

I find it funny that the Jean question was once again diverted to Hope. If she isn't in this just say no Jean Grey in this, too easy. It would save her fans time and esp money (but that's probably what they want).

And from what we've heard so far, it seems that the Scarlet Witch will also play some role from the Avengers side of the equation. How does the event fold the questions hanging around her since "House of M" into the story of the Phoenix?

Alonso: Well, what I can say is Wanda is a key player in this story. She has a lot to atone for. Will this offer her a shot at redemption?

That was my first reaction too when I saw Emma VS Hulk, all I see is her getting Hulk smashed in diamond form. But thinking about it besides the physical size it could actually be a good fight. Emmas pretty powerful now, if Prof X could get in Hulks head easily, Emma can too.I dont know of many instances cause I dont read Hulk Comics but how does he usually do against Omega Telepaths?

theres no way Emma could stand toe to toe with Hulk. She cant use her telepathy if she's in diamond form and she needs to be in diamond form if he is close to her and even then we've seen it smashed in the past.

Some of these are just for promo ie Archangel. Some of the confirms are Magneto vs Ironman and Namor vs Thing. The main story will probably heavily involve Captain America vs Cyclops.
