Default Best MCU villain this year? (2017)

Since Thor: Ragnarok has opened overseas and is set to open this weekend in the US, thought I'd ask. Who do you think the best MCU villain this year was? Feel free to say why but please TAG SPOILERS and only vote after you've seen all 3 movies

Vulture was good. I liked Ego even more though, and Hela was the best.

I bet you'll never guess who I voted for...

Hela. Powerful, badass, funny, ruthless, beautiful, vampy. How she struts around so gloriously and is so wickedly in love with her own carnage and destruction is a sight to behold. Yes, she needs more screen time but that doesn't make her a bad villain. The fact that Cate Blanchett managed to do so much with the screen time that she was given is a testament to her skill and charisma as an actress.

Vulture would be second, Michael Keaton was one of the highlights of Homecoming. Ego third, and I really like Ego so me placing him last proves how Marvel are upping their villain game, IMO.

Same. Haven't seen RAGNAROK yet but Vulture, Alexander Pierce, and Zemo are kickass.

How is it fair that people are voting even though they haven't actually seen Ragnarok yet? I thought it was the stipulation in the first post that you have actually seen all three movies before voting?

It really isn't. Guess I should've waited to make the thread or open the poll. It is what it is though

I'm not moaning really, just an observation. Ragnarok opens in the US in a couple of days anyway so most will have a chance to see it soon.

It makes sense though. Have to see all 3 to really know and make up your mind

Just about 24 hours to go for me. Can't wait!

I think since GotGV2, Marvel Studios are trying to make an effort to not make throwaway villains. It's a tough feat considering they're making 20 films. Not every villain can be that compelling. But Ego was a step in the right direction. Vulture is the best. Hela looks like a throwaway villain but we'll see. Y'all are hyping her up haha.

Hela is the best by far. Vulture was ok and Ego was dissappointing -- Russell had a couple good moments but he's mostly an exposition machine.

Ego was the best for me. I liked Vulture a lot but compared to some past Spidey villains he wasnt as good. Hela was great but was a but under written and we needed to spend more time with her.

I said it in my review I would have cut Sludge completely and given that screen time to Hela.

Agree with ya here. Seeing Thor tonight but it looks like they've really stepped up there game in regards to the villains. Hopefully it continues with Kilmonger and Ghost next year.

Thanos we already know will be BA

Hela was pretty underwhelming to me... vampy fun, but underwhelming.

Keaton/Vulture all the way.

Ghost is Ant-Man's villain?

HOPEFULLY Thanos is BA. He needs to be. He's definitely gonna kill some people. But does that make him BA?

I believe so, at least one of them.

They keep talking him up, but I have high hopes (fingers crossed)

Man, had to go with Hela. I really liked Vulture and Ego was a step in the right direction but Hela was great, if only underused.

Hela's scenes just stood out more for me and had better action scenes.

I'd have to give it to Hela. She was far more threatening than either Ego or Vulture, but they were all pretty good.

It's out of Ego and Hela, may have to give the edge to Hela since she's more threatening.

Hela, no doubt

I'm just love to see a badass and terrifying female villain especially if Cate Blamchett plays it.

Seeing Thor tonight, so right now I'll have to go with Vulture. I am very much hoping that Blanchett lives up to my expectations though.

Ego is a mixed bag for me. For the most part, I didn't really care for him. However, when it was revealed that he had killed thousands of his own children and thrown them all in a giant pile as if they were nothing but trash, that was perhaps one of the single most villainous acts we've seen in the MCU. Very striking image. Not to mention the fact that he killed Peter's mother, and couldn't have been more nonchalant about mentioning it to him.

Marvel really stepped it up with the villains this yr.

Please post after you see Thor and say whether or not your opinion changes
