Enchanted basically stole the thunder for most live action possibilities for any of their cartoons, but if its played straight, could be interesting.

Honestly I'd prefer Fincher tackle a project like this over 20,000 Leagues. I would love to see a serious, live-action version of The Little Mermaid with the true ending, where Ariel dies.

There had better be a unique twist to this movie, because I am really tired of the Cinderella story being retold and re-explored all the damn time. Give us another fairy tale, Disney.

Hopefully it turns out better than the original Disney movie. It was SO BORING! It's the one Disney classic I have never enjoyed at all. Well, except for the mice, I guess.

Snow White was a lot more boring than Cinderella. At least Cindy has a personality. Snow just sorta sat there the whole time, watching the Dwarfs carry her own movie for her until she bites on the apple and dies.

If you want grit in a Cinderella movie, you just need the more Grimm-ized version of the tale where her step-sisters cut off their own toes and heels to fit into her slipper.

They already did a live action one in like 1996.

I wonder if they'll incorporate the Mother tree or if they would consider that too much in Pocahontas' story.

A live action Beauty and the Beast, with Ashley Greene as Belle.
A live action-ish Lion King would kick ass, maybe something entirely CGI, like the lion from Narnia. They could still talk that way... just no singing. Scar would look so damn badass.

I'd kind of like to see a live action remake of Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I know there have been more than a few live action adaptations of that story, but I'd like to see that musical version, not Disneyfied, minus wacky gargoyle sidekicks, and allowed to go to those mature places that a "Disney animated classic" can't.
Cinderella? Meh.

I could definitely see a CG Lion King, but they should model it after the original story, "Jungle Emperor" or Kimba The White Lion. I could easily see Scar as a dark version of Aslan with the red-glowing eyes and dark gray fur as opposed to gold.

I could see a live action of Treasure Planet or Sleeping Beauty finally making reality.

I like the idea of Disney doing live-action films of films they have already done animated. Can someone say Tim Burton!

Disney already remade "101 Dalmations" in live action, so this isn't really something new for them. My issue with this is, if they want to do another live action version of one of their old cartoons, they should pick different one besides Cinderella.
"Ever After" with Drew Barrymore was really good. I don't see what Disney can do to improve the tale enough to get me into a theater to see the story of Cinderella unfold again. The idea of CGI talking mice doesn't really make it seem any more appealing to me. Last edited by Mr.LethalWeapon; 05-18-2010 at 12:41 PM. |

Hercules! Hercules!
You know what's funny? DesPite being 13 years older, and a cartoon, that Hydra scene was WAY more badass than the Kraken scene in Clash of the Titans.

There is a french Beauty and the Beast (La Belle et la Bete ) . It's really old but interesting. After seeing that I've always wanted them to do a live action version but for it to be less like the cartoon. |
