X1 had the best music. Not when you hear the soundtrack alone but when you hear it with the film. It compliments the film much better than the other 2 films.
Also I like the new guy they've chosen. His stardust theme is pretty awesome.

THANK YOU!
X1 probably wasn't the most "heroic" in its music, but it felt so much more heavy, dramatic, futuristic, and romantic than the other films and it just felt right.

I think the movies all had good music - Nightcrawler's attack on the white house wouldn't be nearly as good without Mozart's requiem. And the musical cues for the Deathstrike fight or Jean's monologue at the end were great.

X1 was fantastic. But X2 didn't stray too far away. It took what was in X1 and expanded upon it. It also helped the film feel so large in scope.

*sigh*
It IS glorious. However, I may be in the minority here but...I thought the score to X-Men 3 was fantastic too. Especially the Dark Phoenix theme...arguably the most dramatic and emotional score I've heard in a Marvel film to date.

Yeah, there were times when I had the X3 soundtrack on a loop.
It has some really nice moments..

X3 is great at times. Dark Phoenix Tragedy being a great moment. But, while brilliant at some moments, it was really really bad bad at others.
You could tell that Ottman was heavily influenced by Kamen's previous score, but I don't think Powell listened to anything from the first two movies. Even Mystique's signature strings were gone. |

Yeah...I hope they bring back the strings and maybe a little of that techno/electronic sound from the first movie...

You know for some unknown morbid curiosity i would love to hear what Danny Elman would do if he made an x-men score...
It would be totally unfitting just trying to picture weird noises and alot of Lalalalalalala all over the place.

What kind of weird noises? Lalalalalala?
You think Danny Elfman is a one-trick pony? I think most times, people don't even realize the different kinds of scores Elfman has done over the years. He's becoming quite the diverse composer and he's probably one of the few composers that could replicate Kamen's style from the first movie...

I've just checked IMDB and apparently Henry Jackman is the composer now. He worked with Vaughn on Kick-Ass and is doing the score for Gulliver's Travels for Fox, so it would make sense. He also scored Monsters vs Aliens.
Here is his Kick-Ass stuff: |

Yep, it's confirmed on Film Music Reporter that Jackman will be scoring X-Men: First Class.
Jackman scored Monsters vs. Aliens (which had some good moments musically) and of course Kick-Ass. I'm disappointed Eshkeri isn't scoring it, but oh well.

Yeah, seems more like he's not coming cheap. He's just someone Vaughan trusts.

This may get me stoned but...I really liked Inception's theme. Hans Zimmer anyone?

Why would that get you stoned?
![]() Anyway, this is my favorite track from Kick-Ass, scored by Jackman. I love the theme he creates, and how he uses it throughout the entire film. |

Zimmer would be awesome. I'd love to see what he could with the X-Men.
What I love about the score that JP posted is the faint similarities of Donner's Superman theme in there. Really fits with the world of Kick-Ass. |

I'd love for Superhero Hype to post a news story confirming Jackman's involvement with X-Men: First Class. The only thing is that you'd have to click on the story to find out they're talking about Henry Jackman.

If it was the other Jackman I would groan. I'm so sick of Hugh's Wolverine.

I mean, he doesn't have a whole lot of experience. So, he probably didn't cost much to employ. I'm just saying it could've also complimented the fact that he's worked with Vaughn before.
