im pretty sure that was the point of the Ultimate Iron Man armor. it was supposed to look less sophisticated cus it was. the suits changed a lot tho and now it almost looks just like 616 Iron Man. but the only Ultimate style costume id be cool with is Hawkeyes. never liked the 616 costume.

Maybe an amagalm of Hawkeye's 616 costume and his Ultimate costume could work?

There is a perfectly good 616-style Hawkeye costume in the manips thread.

I know that's what they were going with in Ultimate Iron Man, I'm just saying that it wouldn't make sense in the Avengers movie for that exact reason: Technologically, it looks like a step back from what we've already seen.

I agree on Hawkeye, though, he's the only one who I could justify it for.

True, I'm inclined to believe that they can as well.

Iron Man doesn't need the suit, not only because it's ugly as hell, but also because he and the other Avengers will be a help for Thor (like he needed it).

Actually, if the writing is smart, it won't fall for this nonsensical narrative. Hulk is strong, but Thor is enough to manage him.

And here is hope that Captain America comes completely refurbished for the Avengers movie.

'Completely refurbished' probably meaning a different actor too, eh Mercurious?

I wouldn't go that far. Evans is not convincing for me, but that kind of judgement must wait for the movie.

An actor is an actor, and we know how Ledger simply surprised everybody with what is, now, simply the definitive Joker.

So, let's see.

PS: but with the costume is a different matter. I've seen more than enough of that. Get rid of it NOW.

I like Cap's costume from what I've seen. Obviously it should, and almost certainly will, be updated to something more modern for the Avengers movie, but for a WW2 movie, it's a great mix of soldier and symbol.

No? That's about the only way IM would stand a chance physically with the Hulk.

The Hulkbuster armor in the Avengers would be great, especially if it's those designs that Galactus123 posted.

Exactly, it would make more sense for Thor to come in to engage Hulk, while Iron Man & Cap try to figure out what's causing him to attack them or they could help get civillans to safety.

It makes more sense than the usual "let's all fight Hulk even though Thor can go toe to toe with him".

A very good design, and I just hope Marvel makes something along these lines.

Yeah, that's the one I was talking about. I don't see how that would be an less believable than the Captain America suit.

That design is great and believable but I would do something to that mask.

You would? Damn - I did the mask on the head to the right. Thought it was a semi-realistic interpretation

I guess the materials look really thin and flimsy on his mask.

I really like that, mask included, but I'm betting they'll go for something closer to Ultimate with him.

On a side note, really glad he wasn't depicted with a compound bow there. I've seen a few manips where he has one, and I just don't think it really suits Hawkeye. I feel like he'd consider it 'cheating.'
