Probably so. I agree that it should carry some dramatic weight. I can imagine the last scene being Xavier in his office in the mansion teaching a group of students, or something along those lines. Something that conveys a sense of hope.

yes, that's how I envision it too. We see him in his wheelchair, with that Patrick Stewart-like smile on his face. Maybe looking out the window or something.

i would think the last scene of the movie would be xavier using cerebro and the doors shut then credits. he will be searching for his team, now that his and magnetos first attempt at it failed.

they probably will show it being built by magneto and xavier. i mean you saw him in x2 moving the metal plates around in it. so you know he knows what he is doin in there, not to mention how easily mystique f'd it up in the first one by messing with the liquid. magneto obviously was with xavier moving the metal around while xavier was messing with the controls. so im sure we will see them build it.

I really want a lot of drama between Xavier and Mags - as if maybe Erik is somehow (indirectly) responsible for putting Charles on a wheelchair.
With quality, dramatic actors like James and Fassbender, it'll be an amazing thing to see.

Probably will be.... anything else would be too complicated for casual viewers from Fox's standpoint. Nah, but I am sure the fall out will be beyond that. The girl will probably be way down the list.

Since we're hearing that Moira will be Charles' love interest, I think that the Emma/Charles/Erik triangle was scrubbed for the final draft.

I wonder if Emma will still be Xavier's lover in this story since Singer wanted her to be an ex-lover in X3 and a lot of his plans for Emma in that movie seem to be carried over to this film.

I'd say that it would just lay the initial seeds of the rift, with something a whole lot bigger actually causing the rift to occur.

And I don't want the rift to have anything to do with some chick. It should be about their conflicting ideologies. Magneto thinks mankind and mutants will have to go to war while Xavier thinks they can live together. Magneto will want to take measures to protect his kind and Xavier will try to get in his way to protect human beings. Irreconcilable differences in their ideologies. Simple as that.

I don't really see the connection. The Hellfire Club is being used for this film, so I think it's obvious to include Emma. Where as, In Singer's X3 it was just Emma he was introducing and she was going to be an old love of Xaviers (and an empath). Other than the age, I don't yet see the connection.

I don't quite see the worry as everything you just mentioned we know is the reason for their split. This film is just giving it more detail, not changing it to a romantic rivalry.
