Re: Transformers 3 merchandise
looks like the smaller prime with the trailer mainly cause of the truck's front wheels on the arms in robot mode like the smaller fig.

I've decided that outside of the new bots... I won't be buying "new version" of the ones I already have. I still think RotF Leader Prime is the best Prime outside of the 25th Anniversary Prime I have. Bumblebee (from RotF), Ironhide and Ratchet (from TF1) also seem good enough to keep on my shelf without the "upgrade."

One of the new Bumblebees looks like it might be an improvement on the ROTF HA version though -- the one with the retractable hand-to-gun feature? I haven't seen it out of the box, so I'm not sure. If I get anything from the Dark of the Moon release, it's going to be a leader-class Shockwave, assuming there will be one. |

The Leaders tend to be awesome... but I'm SUCH a stickler for "correct scale" that I doubt I ever pick up any other Leader outside of the Leaders I have. I MAY upgrade to DotM Leader Megs once the price drops. I picked up Leader Megs from TF1 for like 15 bucks a few months after the movie came out on BluRay.
I'll probably just get Delux Shockwave. As for the Bumblebee "arm to gun" model... if it is indeed an improvement I may very well pick it up. |

yep! i'm the same way...only exception i'll make is if the toy/character sports a new look in this (i.e. Megatron)...only ROTF figures i got so far are : Deluxe: Laserbeak,Crankcase,Roadbuster,Topspin, and Skids.. Voyager: Shockwave, Skyhammer, Megatron Leader: Sentinel Prime ...saved WAY more money this time than i did last time....i perfectly fine with Ironhide,Ratchet, and Barricade from TF1, and Bumblebee,Starscream,Jolt,Sideswipe, and Optimus from TF2.... |

I've just about had it with all the Bumblebee variants. I wish I'd gotten Cliffjumper but that's the only one I'd consider buying.

I have been a fan of Transformers for a few years now, but have just recently ventured into collecting. I wanted to ask which of the line of figures produced for DOTM is really worth picking up -- I am heading into Walmart tomorrow, before work, and would like to pick one up, but I have no experience in the matter, and want to pick up the best of current line, and then pick up the rest from the other film lines. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Hey! Welcome to the collector's circle :P
Personally i bought all the main characters From TF1. Delux Bumblebee (the classic and the upgraded with the mask over his face) Jazz Barricade Bonecrusher Voyager Rachet Iron Hide (imho, better then Rotf and dotm) Starscream (this is another figure you may be happier with the 2nd movie ver. but i wont upgrade.) Leader Megatron Optimus though since you have a choice, go with RotF for both, unless you want teh plane Megatron. Megatron is the only one i upgraded. Brawl (lets face it.. hes a huge tank.. it works for him) Revenge of the Fallen Deluxe Sideswipe (unless you want the DotM convertible... however i dont like the cheap plastic they used for the 3rd movie) soundwave (but they may come out with version to match DotM) Ravage (i only bought him recently and thats because i got laserbeak too... but hes not size accurate) Rampage Skidz Mudflap Voyager Demolisher Long Haul Mixmaster Fallen Leader Megatron (he looks screen accurate, and this is his tank form.) Jetfire Dark of the Moon Deluxe Crankcase Topspin Roadbuster Laserbeak Voyager Shockwave Leader Sentinal Prime In my opinion... Grab Iron Hide and Rachet from the first movie, and get who ever you can from Revenge of the Fallen. The plastic from the 3rd movie is different, the figures seem smaller, and they have these new weapons that really aren't needed. |

As i stated a couple post before, id go with the first movie. The positioning od the canons were funny in RotF in vehicle mode. The DotM figure is a bit more screen accurate... but the quality seems absent.

Don't bother with the Wreckers in deluxe class, as they are getting Human Alliance molds. While they run $30, they are way better. If you come across any Reveal the Shield figures you like, grab them fast, as they are hard to find. Same goes for Generations figures. Also, if you have a Marshall's or TJ Maxx, head on over. You can score some sweet deals there.

This really isn't related to the movie... but my old boss (whom I can not stand) found about 200 G1 Transformer toys at a yard sell... she bought ALL of them for 20 bucks.
She's now trying to whore them out for money (she even has a bloody Metroplex!) but according to one of my friends they're "ok" but obviously played with. Drives me nuts! Mainly because whenever I go yard selling I don't find a thing outside of dinner jackets from the 1970's..... Last edited by Benstamania; 07-03-2011 at 03:17 PM. |

Idk squat about painting figures. It wouldn't be hard to do the actual painting but I'd like to match the color and texture of his upper body

If you want to repainted him, I can give you tips. Hell, I could even do it for you. The easiest way would be to just repainted the robot parts, and leave the vehicle parts alone.

Yeah, that'd be my plan. Unless some parts of him were still terribly blue in vehicle mode
