I like the sound of it so far, very in tune to the universe that Baum created and it's awesome that Emerald City's look is influenced by art deco.

I'm curious about Raimi's plans for this. You would never think you'd see the dude that made Evil Dead on a Wizard of Oz film, but it's actually genius when you think about it.

I can't wait for this. Spider man 3 not withstanding, i really love Raimi as a director.

Sam Raimi has amazing talent to be able to do all types of films. From Evil Dead to Simple Plan, Spider-Man, etc.

I'm really liking the sound of this. I'm looking forward to seeing footage just to get a feel of it all. A new Oz film under Raimi's direction is so odd, but interesting.

Raimi royally ****ed up with 3. But thankfully, he bounced back so quickly with Drag Me to Hell that I totally forgave him. So he's awesome again.

I'm still a bit uncomfortable with Raimi as the director, since this is indeed an ambitious project. But I will take my hat off to him, if he pulled it off.

I liked the idea of Downey playing Oz better, but I'll give Franco a chance.

sorry no news or pics.

i was googling for 1 hour now. the only leaked pic that we have is a big monkey from the set. it looks like they didnt shoot on location . i am scared scared. watching Spiderman 2 and 3 you can see that Sam Raimi doesnt have the eye for greenscreen lighting on set. he is using small spotlight's that make the finished shot look like it was filmed on a stage. if the whole movie is filmed with greenscreen and small sets this could look very fake.

i also couldnt find any pic from actors smoking on breaks. so we have no idea how they look. maybe a teaser trailer in summer? the movie comes out in march.

So is this more like the books, or the original movie? Or a combo?

Very cool. Burton-esque but no doubt Raimi will be doign his own thing. I can't wait to see his quirky style combined with the world of Oz.

In pure Raimi movie fashion, do you see the little item up there in the upper part of the poster next to the balloon?

You can see Venom reflected in the buildings of Emerald City.

Oooooo, very nice! Since there's a panel at Comic-Con next week, surely including some footage, hopefully there's something online around the same time.
