Moon Night? Good lord, let's stick with marquee characters if at all possible.

Anyone see Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker?
In the first 10 minutes (I think it was 10) of the film Terry fought the Jokerz.
VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

The intro is only about 6 min long.
I could see them doing something along these lines.
A very short scene that introduces a character, like Luke Cage and Iron Fist.
Title says something like "Marvel Showcase Presents: Luke Cage and Iron Fist" Heroes for Hire."
We see a fight scene in New York, as we get closer we get introduced to first Luke Cage (as he punches a bad guy and says something) then we see Iron Fist (as he kicks a bad guy and says something in response).
The bad guys begin to look like they are getting the upper hand, until they open fire on Luke first and we see he is bullet proof while Iron Fist uses this moment to use his Iron Fist to destroy their weapons and knock them down (or something).
Then, while the cops are showing up, Luke and Iron Fist start taliking about dinner. "You want Subway?" "Not again!" (some sort of dialogue so we see they are good buddies and not just heroes teaming up, and probably something to show that they are heroes for hire, and get paid for this.)

If I was to do it I would play up the pulp aspects of the character. I would play up crazy aspect of it where you wouldnt know if he really was the fist of Khonshu or just really messed up in the head. I like in the original comics how he'd switch between his various identities "why you calling my Jake..i'm Marc".
The costume would be based on the original designs...not all white....jet and silver.

Id go with the silvery whitish, it looks like actual moonlight look....I like what Marc says about it in the recent relaunch " I want you to see me coming"

They have pretty much been done.

And no character should be off limits anyway.

actually (and this just came to me) I would change up his costume like the phases of the moon. If the moon is more white than black I'd go with a costume more white than black, then a costume for more black than white and then the all white costume for full/new moons...or is that too corny

Are we talking animated characters? In that case, they have covered many of the main people. I thought this was about live action shorts.

I posted the Batman Beyond 10 min intro from Return of the Joker. Its actually 6 min long. So it gives a good idea how much could be packed into that much time.

I would go with animated shorts at the beginning of their super movies.
That way when they go to make a live action 2 hr movie based on the character, they could cement all the details like casting. Fans wouldn't worry that the character was recast because one was animated and the other is a real person. So no problem there.
Or they could see how audiences didn't respond well enough to the Moon Knight intro so they could decide to not make that movie and since they didn't sign anyone there is no problem.

nice idea but doesnt animation take longer than live action???
For someone like MK in a live action setting no need to cast a actor just get someone who can flip around and look good in costume

Who I consider the marquee characters of Marvel:
Spiderman
X-Men
Thor
Captain America
Hulk
Iron Man
Dardevil
Fantastic Four

All of whom already have had movies made with the last 10 years (and many not owned by marvel) so why would they make 10 minute shorts of them.

they are talking about doing shorts in front of their movies to test interest...no need to test interest in Iron Man and Hulk

Marquee is a poor word choice. I was looking at from a fanboy perspective, not general audience. I assumed these would be characters to appear in the Avengers, or future Avengers movies.

No...Marvel is doing it to generate interest, see what characters might be possible for film adaptations

nothing to do with the Avengers

Even then I wouldnt i have 10 min shorts for Thor, Cap, Ant-Man and Nick Fury considering their movies are already slated.

Obviously. OTHER Avengers characters. The typical studio M.O. would be spin offs. More likely from a feature film, rather than a 10 minute short.

You don't think they'd like to know which of the characters would garner the most interest for a future Avengers movie?
