I hope he gets that rumored role in The Hobbit, most likely Bard.

He did! Especially in that bar scene, the bank scene, hell almost every scene.

Great performance.

It's just a shame Magneto inexplicably became Oyrish in the last 14 minutes of the film. Director should have reshot them.

He was my favourite part of the movie - and that is saying a LOT.

What did everyone think of his classic costume at the end?

Not 100 per cent sold on the final costume, but you can see they tried hard to replicate the comic books.

I like the fact the comics one is chainmail and he pulls it on to himself magnetically. Dunno whether they'd ever go that far in the films. In my view, a darker red might work better for the film world rather than that flamboyant colour scheme....

Haha, yes! LOVED that scene, one of the best in the movie.

Can't say I was really feeling the suit. It looked like he wasn't comfortable in it.

The costume at the end felt really goofy to me. I would replace the purple with black or some darker color. A chainmail costume would work a lot better in giving him the more regal look that he has in the comics.

Yeah McKellen's outfit was undobtedly better, but props to Vaughn for giving us a taste of the classic costume. I kind of dug the helmet more than the old one though.

Ummm, I dunno. I've recently just seen the first and third X-Men movies and Magneto's outfit in them wasn't that much better..

Oh, I never heard this mentioned, but who's decision was it for Fassbender to pretty much talk in his natural tongue in most of the movie? In Inglourious Basterds, his accent felt more hat of a straightforward Englishman, but in this, it was a tad bit distracting, but whatevs.

I didn't like the Magneto outfit that much in the previous X-Men films either (I thought he looked a lot less intimidating with the helmet on, it made his head look small). I like First Class' attempt at faithfulness and I do like the helmet design. I just think they need better material and a better color palette.

Well, I give them credit. I remember all of the crap people were giving the original movies about not being colorful enough.

I was a little taken back at how colorful Magento's outfit was at the very end of the movie, but at the same time, they had some serious balls in adapting pretty much a really faithful look at Magneto's original color pallette and outfit design from his first appearance in the comics..

I loved the helmet at the end. I would just like to see maybe a little sleaker more streamlined costume a little closer to the comic in the next film. Really hope this gets a sequel. Also I loved the classic comic color scheme. I agree that took guts on their part. Along with the awesome X-Men Blue and yellow costumes.

Nit picking fanboys.

It's a movie not your reward for following a comic for 30 years. These film makers owe us nothing but a good movie.

And this was not a good movie... A GREAT movie, IMO.

Fassbender was amazing. I can't praise his role enough in this. Every scene he was in was the best ones, IMO. Great actor, he did Magneto perfect.

I want a sequel with him in it. It's got to happen!

Magneto's sense of humor surprised me. He always came off as completely serious in the trailers.

No, they're just discussing the movie. I suggest you knock off the attitude.

I thought he was brilliant. Even knowing the stuff he goes on to do, your heart broke for him.

I prefer the McKellen helmet, specifically the one in X3. I don't think the bucket helmet translates as well.

I could not disagree more about the helmet. I hated the helmets in the previous films and loved the First Class helmet. Especially at the end of the film where it is pretty much 100% comic accurate.

I loved Fassbender as Magneto, and yeah the satellite scene with Charles was absolutely brilliant. If I may be a nitpicking fanboi, that smile of his at the end of moving it, was a leeeeetle over the top for me

That Argentina scene was incredible, I wonder if he suggested the part where they sit around the table; similar to his scene in Inglorious Basterds - it was brilliant.

Must say, when he levitated out of the sub, he looked pretty funny, like he was being held up by his hips, just looked funny. And while I'm a big fan of comic book accuracy, I just didn't like his outfit at the end. Applaud them for trying though.

Overall though, I thought he was bloody awesome, and my favourite character in the film.
