both helmet and armor are dark purple. It almost doesnt look as a colour at all, since its pretty close to black

Could be. The purple/red material looks the same to me, but it's hard to say with the way the material is cut. It doesn't look quite cape like.

If I had to guess I'd say it probably is though. They both look "costume"-y, and I doubt Erik will sport two different looks (of what I assume is his own design) in one film.

if its the same costume in both the pictures then it does look red to me, just not a very strong red, matches with singers dark colors thing

as i said singers doesn't seem fond of striking colors

I don't understand the concerns over what is a low-quality, low-contrast scan of a magazine page.

The color will be more vibrant in the film.

Nice. i think this is the ideal base costume and like Thors it just needs tweaking to get it to a perfect adaption.

Hopefully it keeps for future movies and they add/remove elements and tweak the colours so it goes but almost there (Thor) to a teensy bit better (Avengers Thor) to almost perfect (Dark world Thor)

I think combining two different colours would be the route to go, just using darker tones.

In fact, thats the best route to addapt X-Men costumes, since each one of them use a different colour.

The less intense they are, the better. But the designs has to be complex and with many different pieces, to make them look really badass and expensive.

So we probably aren't going to get X-uniforms this time? They've been out of the game for 10 years and isn't a real team to form.

If Beast is the only X-man then the final battle is going to be very small even if it does have some kind of proto-Sentinel.

I think it's going to depend on the lighting. That sort of material -- based on the close up pic -- appears to have a texture that shifts in color based on the light/shadow. It could be played up or down.

this latest still is more than likely from the final battle in the 70s

and Im sure the X-Men will have uniforms too. This is a big movie, so Singer will put them all together with their uniforms, just like First Class

Beast, Wolverine, maybe Havok (in case Singer made him go back to USA for one final battle) and we still dont know if the 70's will have a few surprises on final battle.

Singer said recently that there will be more mutants on the movie, unannounced yet, so it doesnt have to be only for the future portion

yeah, but Singer has been terrible with adding mutants for short-term reasons. Nightcrawler's WH attack was the height of his character visually and in the story.

Rogue, ShadowCat, Colossus, and Iceman all got brief action shots that didn't do much.

If these other X-men were about something, I don't want them to be "Darwined" lol. Giving them uniforms would be an insult.

I get your point.

But at least for me, just to see 5 mutants working together as 'x-men' at least for one battle on the 70's would be really appreaciated.

They can leave at the end and part ways, as long as they arent A-list x-men, its fine to me.

The armored torso look reminds me a lot of X-Men Evolution Magneto.

Only thing I really wish about the costume was that he had boots. The "slacks with shoes" appearance doesn't mesh well with the rest of the suit.

I think he does have high boots on, and is just wearing the pants over them. I'm just basing that on the way the shadows are falling though. (and I suppose the effect is still the same as if he had on shoes.)
