I was just going to say that I think this is a bad idea, but in light of seeing the full post I have to add 2 things.
1. The fact the Eli Roth isn't attached actually makes me a little curious 2. Apatow mother of god! Your taste in entertainment sucks. Seriously!

Now,I don't love the Hostel movies, nor do I hate them. But,at least,Apatow realizes that his taste in movies may be put under scrutiny by others here from time to time. And also,at least,he doesn't pretend to be smarter for enjoying and not liking the movies that he has seen. I know you can defend yourself Apatow, but I really really felt like defending you this time.

The first Hostel had some tense and ridiculous kills, and lots of boobs. Call me low-brow, but sometimes that's all I need in a movie.

And like I need to justify myself for liking certain movies. If you don't like it, that's just to damn bad! Sorry i'm not wetting my pants over certain movies like alot of other people are on here most of the time. |

I am not pretending to be smarter. I thought about not saying anything. But I have watched him defend Karate Kid Remake, Nightmare Remake, A-Team, Now This. I fellt like voicing my opinion. Apatow - I am not asking you to defend it. I was just voicing my opinion. Since Eli is producing it. I am out. This man is a joke & hate that he has even gained any credibility in the horror scene.

I actually enjoy the Hostel series more than the Saw series. I'll probably catch this when it's on cable.

These movies are a bit hard going to watch at times, stating the obvious, but, it's a kick to see the protagonist escape, and I got some thrills out of that, so the movies worked for me. I also like movies where you get to see into some evil secret society or whatever, like Rosemary's baby and the like. I'm not sure why so many people hate the films.
Anyway, I would watch another, and I don't really see the problem with the direction in the first two, they pretty much did what they set out to do. |

I enjoyed the 1st movie. The 2nd? Not so much. I'm curious to see how the Vegas setting changes the aesthetics of the series. One of the best aspects of the previous films was the fact the characters were in a different country.

As far as i'm concerned, a good portion of the people who absolutely hate these films are the ones that jumpd on the "Torture Porn" term bandwagon. It's so ignorant considering hardcore horror fans like myself know that just like most things in life, this is another revolution. A return of exploitation films from the '70s. People out of nowhere around the early to mid 2000s came up with the stupid term "torture porn" because they thought it was a new thing in horror cinema. ![]() As for this sequel i'll probably give it a one time watch on home video like the first two. I am kind of burnt on these types of horror movies since they seem to make up a large percentage of horror released this past decade. I know it's easier said then done but people need to try harder to come up with more original ideas. |

Yeah, I am kind of the same I think, I borrowed the dvds and enjoyed watching them, but can't really imagine a time when I would choose to watch them again.
and yeah, i remember that controversy period, as you say, these kind of things have existed before, i am no big horror fan, but even i know that. |

As of right now, it's going straight to dvd, so far as I know. Did I mention that?'
