I always thought it was to distinguish Mystique's real appearance from the cameo of Rebecca Romijn without the makeup and prosthetics in X2. If they kept the blonde hair, it might imply that what she turned into in the bar in X2 was what she would look like without the blue-ness, but the Mystique of the original trilogy would probably never want anyone to see that form. Just my guess.

I know that Halle started requesting a bigger role in shaping her character (storm) following her oscar win (to the chagrin of singer i believe), now she seems like a much different actress but do any of you see lawrence wanting more control over her character at this point?

With her much bigger acting clout now.

No and she did more things in FC than Halle Berry in X1. It wasn't like her character didn't receive much development.

I get that it's to distinguish her real appearance but other than the length and hair color (long and blonde vs. bobcut and black) she's still Rebecca Romijn. She's not very bright if she thinks no one will recognize her just by changing hair "real" hair to blonde.

The article that I posted where the pic is from said it's for Hunger Games sequel. Are they still filming that?

question is Why Ravel looked so young, when she is suppposed to be older than the rest

That whole quick transformation of the cure in Mystique and Beast hand on X3 were two ridicoulous and unrealistic moments to me.

Medicine and genetic changes take time. So the cure should have taken a longer time too. It was a fantasy take, instead of a realistic/sci-fi take, like how the franchise is supposed to be and the Singer's universe.

Thats one of the things where you realize the writers and Brett Ratner lack intelligence and talent.

For some reason, I have doubts Singer would have done exactly like them

Yeah it's real stupid. Mystique was born with blue skin. She's blue...not white! It's like...sticking Darwin with a cure needle and having him turn white too. Is it just a white person making gun?

Something that bugs me, too, but I'm not about to use it as a knock against Ratner. Artistic license is artistic license. If I let something like that really matter to me, I wouldn't be enjoying the absurdity of any of the mutants' powers.

mutant powers or powers in general are just a concept the audience accepts since day 1.

But if a director wants to do a smart and realistic/sci-fi take, some things have to be adressed realistically and based on science, not like a fantasy movie for kids.

Thats the difference between Great directors and mediocre directors.

Because the blue skin is part of her mutation, Darwin's black skin is not.

I think the change of color was just to show that she's no longer a mutant. Sure, in real life it would take time and not just seconds to show that cure/medicine really works but its a fiction.

It was explained by Beast in FC that Raven *could* age slower than everyone else. Same as the comics. I thought that was clear Which is why I think people didn't complain (until now) about Rebecca essentially playing herself (albeit naked and a brunette) in her "cured" form.

I'm certainly not one of TLS apologists as I didn't like that movie either but that's just nit-picky. Afterall, before the movie the comics depicted Wolverine's healing factor as occurring at a much slower pace. But you don't see people complaining about that. For a time after that movie came out they've depicted his healing factor in the comics a la how it's depicted in the movie, ie. instantaneous healing.

Medicine and genetic changes take time. So the cure should have taken a longer time too. It was a fantasy take, instead of a realistic/sci-fi take, like how the franchise is supposed to be and the Singer's universe.

Thats one of the things where you realize the writers and Brett Ratner lack intelligence and talent.

Maybe they could've depicted it more crudely and not so clean in it's healing via the cure, leave some scabs and such But I certainly didn't find fault in the speed of the healing itself.
