Default The Daily Bugle Really Went Down Hill...

Look at the words under GNUCCI FAMILY HIRE NELSON AND MURDOCK l A BUGLE EXCLUSIVE BY KEN ELLIS

I noticed that while reading Welcome Back Frank and thought it was quite funny

Someone should tell Ken Ellis that writing random letters does not give very good information

I dunno if Marvel generally does that. If so then I have not noticed till now

Most of the companies do that. Sometimes they'll actually write part of the actual article, but most of the time they put in gibberish. The important things are the headlines.

Back in ye olden days, artists would just draw in scribbles that very vaguely looked like lines of text.

They should use Lorum Ipsum.

They do occasionally. There's some writers who will actually write an entire article, or the first few paragraphs.

Are lawyer hirings really headline worthy in a large metropolitan newspaper?

You know, 24 hour news cycle.

I would rather read a piece from the Latverian correspondent or an essay on monster attack prevention.
It's the Marvel Universe and this is the most exciting news the Bugle can print?

Keep in mind the prejudice of the EIC. If it glorifies masked heroes, odds are Jonah's probably not gonna want to draw too much attention to it. Plus, I always got the impression that the Bugle's a tabloid more than a respected newspaper.

Yea, the Bugle was never a Daily Planet quality paper.

You could kind of get that impression from the fact that they hire random high school students off the street as photographers.

Yet, Jameson and co are the sharper bunch. Peter has to wear full face mask to fool them. (And Robertson still figured it out.)

The Planet has the more ethically admirable staff, but they're a little bit on the slow side.

I dunno if I would read the Bugle or the Planet. It's hard to choose between the dimwitted nice guys and the sharp bastards. This is why I don't vote.

Shouldn't both of these go out of business soon anyway? (Or at least go digital?)

But is this a recent screen cap? Because Matt is not currently a lawyer.

I hope that doesn't spoil anything for anybody, but is pretty far from being a lawyer right now.

Pretty sure this is from an issue of the latest Spider-Girl series.

I thought the whole Daily Bugle as a New York Post-esque tabloid was a recent development.

Explicitly, I think so. But when you consider that Jameson's been using pretty much every page of it as his own personal editorial on how superheroes are the downfall of modern civilization, the tabloid idea makes sense throughout its history...

No one really cares what's happening in Spider-Man's comics right now.

They're not really publishing Spider-Man's comics now.

I really wish they'd wrap things up with this alt-universe weirdo and start doing that again.

When they start publishing Spider-Man comics again this alt-U guy can be his Nate Grey. The real Peter Parker can help him repair his brain damage and teach him about things like responsibility and not selling your wife to the devil and how to avoid being fallen on by fat Latino men.
