This show has so many good things going for it. One thing I've noticed is that so far I don't have a favorite character yet. They all seem to have their own contributions and flaws that make them all likable. The only person that gets more screen time than the others is Rosen because he's the head guy and the connection between them all. This reminds me of why I love DS9 so much. Outside of Sisko I loved all the characters the same because they all brought something big to the table. In Alphas the characters feel like real people...except for Gary. He's funny as hell though, so he's cool in my book.

LOL Gary is hilarious. I remember in the last episode he weighing the difference between a unnecessary and necessary risk.

It was "28days lateresque". Good stuff.

****! I saw Summer Glau in an ad for the show recently. This show is officially doomed. She's got bad luck. Even on good shows like 4400. Enjoy it while you can.

I'm really enjoying this show so far, i hope it lasts, but i should go at least a few seasons, SyFY seems pretty competent with its shows unlike other stations ::cough::fox::cough::

Is that a Warehouse 13 crossover I see next week ? I guess that means Warehouse 13, Eureka and Alphas run in the same universe. Lindsay Wagner is playing the same role, Dr. Vanessa Calder, next week.

That would be an odd crossover. WH13 and Eureka are both lighthearted and funny and Alpha is more serious and down to earth ( not sure if it is the proper saying ).
I don't see it mixing with WH13/Eureka universe but if Lindsay Wagner plays the same role in both series chances are that I am wrong.

It can work in the sense that when the crossover character from WH13 or Eureka shows up in Alphas, they can play serious, and when anyone from Alphas shows up in either of the other two shows, they can show their lighter side.

I also mentioned earlier in this thread that there are Alphas in the other shows as well:

I read in another forum a discussion that has me thinking:

Warehouse 13 currently has TWO confirmed "Alphas": One that has the ability to sense lies, and another that has "spidey sense" like abilities. Not sure if it counts, but Myka has been confirmed to have photographic memory. Then there's Eureka's Jack Carter who *might* be an Alpha with his preternatural situational awareness and ability to always choose a correct path no matter how absurd it seems and how complicated the situation is, even to the scientists.

I see a crossover in the future.

I was talking more about the universe WH13/Eureka is set in than how characters act.
I see it as putting Nolan Batman in the 60' TV show, it would not fit.
I don't think Myka, Pete or the new guy in WH are Alphas, photographic memory is not that uncommon, Pete has cop guts and the new guy....well I don't know
We shall see.

Well, although Alphas is serious, even with the short run the series has had, there have been some light moments, but of course their main focus is the gritty stuff.

Eureka and WH13 has had its share of very serious moments.

They're "Alphas" in the sense that they have abilities beyond normal human abilities. Even photographic memory (though I'm hesitant to define it as an "Alpha ability") is not a normal human condition.

Also, from the very beginning, Pete's ability to sense abnormalities and danger has been touted as an actual ability unique to him (so far), and not some extreme gut instinct. As a matter of fact, it's what got him his job at the Warehouse. Ms. Frederic even mentioned his ability outright.

Sheriff Carter is the only one that's iffy with having an actual ability, though you have to admit they can easily plug luck or similar abilities into his character without changing a thing about the show.

I don't remember that about Pete and Ms Frederick, anyway it works either way. Pete having guts cop power or 6th senses.
For Carter, he is the common sense guy in Eureka term, he can see what the smart people can't, and luck, without luck he would not be as funny .

One thing, the Alpha ability comes with a price and none of the characters in WH and Eureka seems to have a disability.

Anyway, that doesn't exclude the possibility of a cross over.

I think only a few Alphas have some sort of disability as a result of their powers. Anna is one of them I think and so is Gary.

Bill suffer drawbacks as a result of accessing his ability that debilitate him for awhile afer prolonged use.

But I have a feeling Nina might not have any drawbacks whatsoever at least not in the sense that she suffers any physical trauma after using her ability.

Ninas drawback comes from her personal life of people doubting her at times due to her power.

This show is just plain good. I love how everything is semi-real. I think that this is gonna be what heroes never could be.

I figured that her drawback was that she could only use her powers for about 5 minutes. I remember her saying that she couldn't use her powers for a long time without getting a headache.

I wholeheartedly disagree, the two show are totally different. Heroes was a superhero show with "real" super powers, Alpha is not, no flying, no TP etc.
Heroes post season 1 could have been better yes.

I dont see why she would even need to use her powers for over 5 minutes since it doesnt take her that long to influence someone.
