Sounds generic like most of Silvestri's work from the best 10 years...

Generic...and I won't kill myself.

They should've gotten Craig Armstrong. That's still their best score, followed far far behind by Thor.

I like it well enough. It's certainly serviceable. There are a couple of really nice tracks, and a bit of filler. Unfortunately, most of the good music seems to be at the beginning of the film.

I'm also a little disappointed that they didn't work in the main character themes in there. Unless I missed them somewhere. And they will apparently be "assembling" rather quickly.

No sure I'd consider this "old school". Its not terribly subtle. It's largely the same modern, somewhat generic, Williamsesque "action movie" music we've seen for the last decade.

Not impressed with track 18.

You've only heard like 30 seconds of each track so far.

Yeah and even then the soundtrack doesn't always have ALL the music that is in the movie.

I mean what I've heard sounds good but I need to hear more. I hope Silvestri did put some Cap music in there.

Was I the only one that felt the Cap score was incredibly self-conscious of itself and very cheesy? Like I felt awkward at times...

Helicarrier sounds similar to the score in First Class where Mags lifts the sub.

I thought the score was okay nothing too great I am not much of a fan of Silvestri he always has a lot of brass instruments playing playing in his scores and for me it takes away from the music i Like hearing the Strings section more

Having each hero's theme would not mesh at all and be horribly messy. Don't understand why people would even suggest such. The movie's its own beast, and calls for a score that is as well.

Its great. And I'm sure the full tracks will be better. You cannot judge a whole song on 30 seconds. Imagine hearing the first four minutes of Free Bird alone. lol

Haven't heard samples yet. Will wait to see the film first. I hope this won't be in the same vein as Tomb raider 2, GIJOE, or A-team. My main problem is it looks like it's going to be a digital release. Hopefully there will a physical copy of this down the road.

They released a CD soundtrack for Silvestri's score of TFA, but CD's are a dead industry anyway.

Intrada specializes in CD-only releases, and they inked a co-production deal with Disney a year or so ago. Their deal revolves around getting film scores that didn't get a previous CD release out for collectors... and they did release CDs for Toy Story 3 and Up, two Disney movies that previously had download-only releases. And they've also done several CD releases for live-action Disney films, like Baby: Secret of the Lost Legend, Something Wicked This Way Comes, Journey of Natty Gann and recently White Fang.

I say if Disney doesn't do a CD release within a few months of The Avengers, Intrada will get the okay to do so. They've released Silvestri's Back to the Future, two releases of Predator and CHIPS.

Don't think it's a dead industry yet, it is on a decline however. People still buy CDs for their cars and **** like that.

I know I do.

Or you can download the music and just put it onto a cd

Pressed CDs last a lot longer than CD-Rs, provided you keep proper care of them.

There's nothing like the authenticity of a real soundtrack.

I'm a proud owner of Wasting Light the album. Foo Fighters deserve every dime they get.
