Most likely, I'm still sticking with my completely unfounded mild mannered prison guard theory.

Agreed. Holder is fantastic.

Not to mention that he's Swedish. That makes his acting doubly impressive.

True, it never even crosses my mind that he's not an American when I watch the show.

Just saw last weeks ep, either they are going to extreme lengths to make the pastor a decoy or he's guilty and maybe working in tandem.

I think the Pastor is somebody who tries to do the right thing no matter what the laws say. I don't think he's directly involved in the murders but maybe somebody close to him is.

I felt the cliffhanger last week was a little cheesy for this show. He's waiting in the car with a knife? Come on.

OK, they go from what I thought was a pretty hammy ending to what may have been the best episode of the season. Nice job, writers.

It was a great episode from the Pastors and and Linden to Seward and the guard, to Holder and Bullet, plus Holder and Linden in the aftermath. I think the guard is looking more and more like a viable suspect though that scene with Seward threw me through a loop.

Powerful episode. Really good acting by everyone especially Mireille.

Pretty gut-wrenching confrontation between Holder and Bullet. Dude was really pissed at her to say those things, but it was understandable.

Knowing who Bullet's character is based on, I wouldnt be surprised if she ends up dying in the end of the season.

That cuckold prison guard is shady as hell. He could be the killer.

Great episode, the tension in the car between Linden and the Pastor was palpable and so was Hodler's anxiety as he listened in. Fantastic acting all round.

The aftermath scenes with Holder and Linden were great, especially her little smile when he showed up with take-out, there's is an unusual TV cop partnership, a lot of it is very subtle.

Seward's sudden desperation and complete loss of his bravado is pretty interesting and I imagine more true to life than any of us ever hope to find out for someone who suddenly really knows the exact date of their death is upon them.

The Holder and Bullet scene was intense and sadly I think for both it will end in tragedy, now Bullet knows who the killer is I fear she will turn up dead leaving Holder feeling responsible because he never picked up his phone.

I still suspect the quiet guard!

I just caught up with the last episode. Damn! Really, really great episode. It's a shame the show can't be that good all the time.

Has it been stated explicitly that the killer is a man?

The victim that escaped, Angie, talked about his eyes watching her through the mirror, so unless that's a deliberate lie then the killer is a man. I was also just thinking that it's the ring finger that he cuts off and that guard's wife is stepping out on him......

So much in this weeks ep, I couldn't figure out at first why Linden was so desperate for Holder not to open the trunk, I was thinking "This isn't 24, the car isn't gonna blow up" and then it dawned on me, poor Bullet.

The way Holder dealt with it and the scene between him and Linden was so well played, without any dialogue you felt exactly what was going on, great scene. I'm glad Holder has found out he wasn't fully to blame for Bullet's death as I was worried the guilt might push him back to drugs and the character has come too far to take such a big step backwards.

The preacher prisoner turning on Seward was weird, it came out of nowhere and I wasn't sure what the purpose of it was.

The guards son shooting his Mom's latest conquest I think happened to draw the cops to him, I have this sneaky feeling he is Mills brother as there is no way Mills is completely innocent but I don't think he's the killer, however he has to be connected otherwise they have went way overboard with him as a red herring.

The guard has seen his wife make a mockery of their marriage and him which is why he cuts off the ring finger IMO, Mills probably sets the girls up for him after he shoots his little porno's with them, and maybe helps him dispose of the bodies.

It was nice that Twitch and Lyric got a happy ending, or at least I hope it was as there's not really any reason for them to come back into it.

I think Lyric isn't happy with the apartment. The overhead shot of her twirling ended without her smiling.

I think the dynamic with the prisoner could be setting something else up, maybe? Or it could just be to play into Seward's original cynicism about religion, hope and faith. Seward is extremely vulnerable, and I think they've set him up as a character whose been through so much crap that it's why he was cynical about hope. His arc has been probably the most dramatic, because he came in basically a completely different man. And little by little, with things like the suicide, seeing his father, speaking to Linden, he's been breaking down. I think the prisoner with glasses could just represent that part of Seward that has always told him not to believe, not to have hope, that in the end he is all alone, etc. That part of him that maybe allowed himself to believe and then had that faith or hope betrayed.

And yeah, I did like how the episode prior ended...but I also expected a run-of-the mill, she gets caught then chased, then escapes sequence. I really didn't expect it to lead to what was really dark and sad scene. I thought it was so powerful not seeing her body, they show her wrist just to confirm it's her to the viewers. But, really looking at Holder (Kinnaman's starting to tear up as he's staring at us, into the trunk) was more emotional than if we had seen a bloodied corpse in the trunk instead.

I'm really thinking this is turning out to be the best season of The Killing. It doesn't only feel tighter, but I really like all the characters arcs. The prison guard's arc, for example, took an interesting turn last episode. It was interesting too, thinking about how they always panned the camera to her son whenever she seemed to hint at her affairs, or try and connect with Gabe. Everytime she seemed to do that with Gabe, he'd glance at her son and we could tell he was fully aware of it all. They kinda set up without being overly obvious, if you think about it. So far I've been really happy with the season. It could go up in smoke with the ending, which is what I remember bothering me about season one. But, if they pull it off...could be great.

Agreed. I didn't buy the first two seasons, but I am certainly buying this one. It's been great since the season opener, though I am very disappointed about Bullet who I thought was so well played. I hope that actress goes on to do more great things.
