It would be so, so, so, so, so stupid if Coulson ends up being an LMD. It would be a stupid and unnecessary twist. Coulson died a heroic death and it should remain that way or it will cheapen the whole film.
You should use spoiler tags on your post for the people who still haven't seen the movie.

I really hope we get a S.H.I.E.L.D. movie someday in the future, would love to see more of Coulson, and yes Hawkeye too for that matter.

I posted this in the Loki thread but I'll repeat it here,
Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
the only reason Loki got the jump on Coulson was because he wasn't wielding his Megaphone of Doom from Thor.

Not showing the part where he closes his eyes and you see him dead but fatally wounded and the audience assuming he was dead. I felt that was a climax of the film and what better way to leave it on a cliff hanger ..that could of left the option for Marvel to bring back if they so choose to

Anyone else cry?

It just seemed to strike home to me for every single reason. What Couslon said about the kind of hero the world needs now - he, Whedon is right. Cynicism, pessimism, eh - optimism, inspirational is where true magic is at. And Coulson knew that. He is the heart of the Avengers and of the film.

Agreed. To quote Nick Fury, 'They needed a push.' And
Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
That push being the death of a character who has showed up in almost all Avengers films and even had an obsessive connection to the one he wasn't in was a very big push indeed.

Coulson is great because he weaves through all of them then tightens the laces and gives them a push. And an emotional connection is what makes a great team. Heck, the Avengersaren't just avenging the world, they're avenging the Son of Coul!

I'm seriously sad. Loved Coulson from minute one. Gregg is a terrific actor, and I really, really, really hope we see hiim again in flashbacks. I dunno if I can deal with the MCU without the Coul.

According to Whedon...

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
It was Marvel's idea. And he basically told them, "You know everyone is going to blame me for this, right?"

They should just title this movie:

AVENGERS: SON OF COUL
it was really a tearful moment when coulson is dead and u can see the tear rolling down his eye, hoping avengers can save the world

it was not cool for marvel's part cuz i read an interview in which whedon stated that he does not want and WILL NOT kill of Coulson, even clark gregg confirmed that he would not want to die and wants to return to IM3

Yeah, this took the movie to the next level for me. When Coulson got stabbed, it really did cement things for everyone. You don't do that to Coulson. I really wanted Hawkeye to put an arrow in his eye at the end. Which means the story worked.

Coulson was no slouch either, I remember him from the short films. He knew his stuff, he just got outclassed, and even then, he knew that his death was what the avengers needed to become heroes. It was great.

I'm sure someone's mentioned this, but I loved that Coulson, who appeared to be the biggest cynic in previous films, ended up being the one with the most hope for The Avengers. I do wish they'd done a bit more with the hero worship/ordinary men and women of SHIELD VS superheroes angle, but his portrayal was very good,
Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
and his death sequence was fantastic.

"They were always going to need something to..." I'd like to think he was going to say "avenge".

You knew what he was going to say. Poetic. Beautiful.

I hope to see him again, maybe in a SHIELD prequel with Black Widow, Hawkeye and Fury.

Why introduce Coulson to the 616 continuity and kill him off in his universe of origin. A little strange to me.

I mentioned this elsewhere, but bring it up here because it's relevant.

I

loved the scene where Coulson tells Thor that they sent Jane to safety as soon as Loki compromised Selvig.

One of the highlights of Thor for me was the way that the relationship between Coulson and Thor softened and changed over the course of the film, and the above-mentioned spoiler moment was a great way to cement and follow up on the camaradarie that the Thor movie started to build between the two men.

True. If it's a 100% certainty, they probably would've done that in the last few minutes of the movie.
Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
If that's true it would cheapen his death. I'm a bit torn on that. I want to see him in future movies, but to what end? It would almost make him inspiring the team to come together
