I had not been sold on Hayley or Peggy Carter as a character (as she is only an afterthought mentioned in flashbacks from what I understand in the comics) but I loved seeing her in the most recent trailer. The "Nobodys perfect" line at the end was great. I think it summarized the fun/action tone of the movie just right. My only regret is that she's been getting far more screen time than Hugo in all the advertising, which I hope is not the case in the actual film.

Oh yeah I'm all for his backstory being somewhat mysterious, though if you look at trailers for other marvel films and even DC films like the recent Green Lantern (what a fiasco that was) the villains have been much more prevalent in the trailer at least with a close up shot or dialogue or something like that. We've been treated to the same shot of him whipping his mask off in just about every trailer or spot so far and now 2 takes of the "what makes you so special line" as well as him getting kicked across the platform by cap.
One of the things I loved about the newest trailer was how his reputation preceeded him and they went on that line about how he thinks he's god. |

That's pretty true, as we certainly saw a lot of Whiplash/Vanko in the IM2 marketing. But I do think we saw more of Loki than we are seeing of Red Skull...and certainly more of the ancillary characters in Wolverine Origins.

@Poni_Boy ...thanks again for another lovely one
Can't wait to see her fighting alongside Cap or at least towards the same goal. I hope the trailer isn't misleading, when in reality she barely does anything; though hard to see how that's possible since she's in so many scenes. |

Those Esquire pics are smashing!
I've said it before, I have a feeling that they're emphasizing Haley in the trailers and spots for Captain America because she (and to a degree, skinny Steve) will appeal to females. She's beautiful, smart, funny, and actually gets a chance to kick Nazi-Hydra butt. I loved that in the latest trailer you got to hear Peggy a lot, especially about the Red Skull. She's as integral to the plot as she is to Steve's heart. I'm excited for Captain America, but the more I see of Atwell and read her interviews, the more I think her Peggy will be something special. |

Why would skinny Steve appeal to women?

I just hope it isn't like in the GL trailer where they stress a much loved aspect of the mythos and then it only shows up that many times in the film.

Well, for me and a few of my girlfriends (and several on other non-comic chatboards and LJ), seeing skinny Steve acting tough, but looking vulnerable while talking to Peggy and struggling through basic training and jumping on grenades and taking on a bully is all sorts of adorable, endearing, and kinda cute.
I can't help but want to take care of him! Even if he would never accept it. Yes, it's probably a mite silly. |

I really love the emphasis on showing Hayley in the latest trailer, and gives us a glimpse on how integral she was during WWII fighting alongside Steve Rogers. And I went from some skepticism about her to hotly anticipating her performance in the movie. Oh, and those Esquire photos are simply amazing.

I hope my comment didn't come across like that! I was talking mostly about myself and my little crush on skinny Steve.
I don't know if it's universal across the board, but some of my girl friends, who like action/comic book movies, love how skinny Steve's shown in the trailers. Anywho... back to Haley Atwell, who is completely awesome. Ad-libbing groping Chris's new man boobs, LOL!! I totally love her! |
