Let's take a break from the news and speculate: The female Angel character in the comics also was under the codename Tempest, which is a word synonymous with that of the word "storm". Hmmm! This is interesting considering we've been similarly misguided just recently with the character castings of Mystique and Banshee (who were previously known to be Willow and Howler, respectively - Willow was a comic character with a power very similar to that of Mystique's and Howler, well, duh.)

Back to the facts! Variety just recently updated their spill, stating that Kravitz' "closed a deal to star" but any mention of the name "Angel" was removed. I say "Hmmm" again!

UPDATE! Variety updated their article, claiming that Kravitz will be playing Angel Salvadore. But nothing's official-official yet!

Can't wait for her to be confirmed as Storm! I'd love the casting... and, besides, it's rumored she's playing Angel, who also, in the comics, had the codename Tempest which is synonymous with the word "storm". And, considering the misdirection that we've had with Mystique (who was said to be Willow, who shared similar powers in the comics) and Banshee (who was said to be Howler... uh, self-explanatory,) I'd say we have ourselves Ms. Munroe.

Here's some trivia for those who are not familiar with Zoe Kravitz:

1. Her dad is Lenny Kravitz, who in my opinion, is Jimi Hendrix reincarnated.

2. Her mom (Lisa Bonet of "The Cosby Show")'s boyfriend, Jason Momoa, is the new Conan.

3. She'll also appear in the upcoming Mad Max film, "Fury Road", playing one of the five wives.

I'm assuming you're judging simply on appearance Lightning?

For all we know they could give her a mohawk and have Storm be a teen rebel. I think we should wait and see before jumping to assumptions.

Now you KNOW Storm is my girl. And I do tend to agree with your sentiments. However the more I think about it, the more I could get into this idea. Zoe really has an exotic look. Though she doesn't really exude "African Goddess" to me, I think she may be a fine actress, and she kinda fits the part, sans her better likeness to the comic character's appearance.

Nevertheless, this is still simply a rumor, so we'll wait and see. I could get into it though. Imma need them to throw sista girl in a tanning bed for a few weeks though. #justsayin

I think we can forget Storm being an ''African Goddess" in these movies anyways, unless they are completely rebooting.

I could so get behind this casting, bar if Zoe can act. The fact she's the daughter of Lenny Kravitz makes me worried though. Celebrity children rarely can act well, with a few noteworthy exceptions.

I think he's referring to her look, which I do kind of agree. Halle and Zoe have sweet facial features. Storm has never been on the soft side looks wise. Looks wise she had've more of a strong bone structure like Jada Pinkett Smith or someone in that range.
