Millennium Actress, Kino's Journey, Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Revolutionary Girl Utena are among some of my favorites.
Honorable Mention/What may others would probably consider a guilty pleasure: Sailor Moon

TV Series:
.hack//SIGNS, first and foremost .hack//Roots Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Naruto, classic and Shippuden Inuyasha, classic Cowboy Bebop Paranoia Agent (R.I.P. Satoshi Kon) Ghost in the Shell Full Metal Alchemist, classic and Brotherhood Gatchaman (the original, not the edits, not even Battle of the Planets). EDIT: Forgot to add Monster and the great Death Note. Movies: Spirited Away -- the best animated film of any kind ever made, IMO Princess Mononoke Castle in the Sky Castle of Cagliostro Grave of the Fireflies Paprika Howl's Moving Castle

i would say my guilty pleasure was the monster rancher cartoon. was silly but i loved the game, putting in disc and getting random monsters was a cool idea.

Is the American version edited from the Japanese?

yes, it is. there is blood and you will see a hole getting blown in someone rather than a puff of smoke or a cutaway shot in the japanese version. they just sort of clean it up for tv in the US.

Yeah, DBZ was one of the shows that got massively edited for American television during the Toonami years.

Cowboy Bebop
Evangelion Samurai Champloo Monster (the manga) Rurouni Kenshin (the manga) Macross Plus all of Miyazaki's movies Perfect Blue Ghost in the Shell I haven't watched them that much, but Trigun, Outlaw Star, and Black Lagoon could become favorites as well. Darker Than Black and Death Note aren't quite favorites, but they get honorable mentions. |

DBZ is really the only anime I have watched and loved. Ever. Watching the first Dragon Ball series right now, and saw a few episodes of GT(which really sucks).

There's to much to list so what I am going to put up here is Fatal Fury and Guyver. These two animes are the reason I am into anime today. They both blow my mind when i watched them as a child.

i think if i would have seen cowboy bebop first then outlaw star might not have been a show i liked. seeing outlaw star first i was able to appreciate it more. i guess the cartoony stuff in outlaw star would have put me off if i had seen it after cowboy bebop, since cowboy bebop is more serious. rurrouni kenshin and samurai champloo on the other hand are similar in their cartoony ways, so seeing them in a certain order wouldnt be a problem for me. by cartoony ways i mean like eyes bulging or silly scenes like a character being fat one second after eating alot then going back to normal size in the next scene. or faces turning red and steaming shooting out of their eyes.

I guess ninja scroll was the one that impressed me. I bought whatever anime I could find after that. I just looked at the cover and read the back and bought it on VHS at the time.

Heya,
I really haven't been up keeping with anime as of late, since about 95% of it sucks. Just like Hollywood. Hahaha. At any rate, there is a few gems here and there and most are already mentioned, and without further ado in no real order.... 1) Dennou Coil 2) Escaflowne (Wow, shocked this wasn't mentioned yet!) 3) Seirei No Moribito 4) 12 Kingdoms 5) Kaiba 6) Sword of the Stranger 7) Eden of the East -Ali Last edited by Alistair; 09-29-2010 at 09:41 AM.
