Actually you know...the DVD thing might not be a bad idea. That way I KNOW a show lasts a season and by the time the dvd's come out you already have news about a season 2 or cancellation.
hmm.....might just do that. I'm done with all this "cancel or no cancel" crap

I enjoyed the poison guy ep. He was very creepy. Other than that, the mystery is moving at a snails pace and it's getting bothersome. I know they don't want to reveal everything too fast, but not enough is going on to keep our attention.

I like the show's premise and the cast, but it's turning out to be way too formulaic and episodic. I was watching this latest episode and found it a struggle TBH, I was easily distracted and I'm generally not like that when getting really involved in a show. There are other shows which can suffer from the same problems, but they usually compensate for this with hugely compelling writing or characters, or an overload of action/sci-fi - anything to distract from the repetition of a weekly story which never alters much asides from the villain in question.
Unless they start offering up some more progression of the main season/series arc and why the prisoners are 50 years out of time, I can't see Alcatraz making it to a season 2. At the moment, the thought of continuing the same pace with a different prisoner up to no good every week just sounds tedious. |

...so this gets postponed by NASCAR...which has now been on an hour delay to clean up an accident.

Enjoyed the two-hour block of Alcatraz tonight, and the episode that was supposed to air last week is airing next week instead, according to the preview.

Damn...didn't realize it was a two hour block. Only saw the last episode.
Did I miss anything super crucial in the first one?

Yeah their is apparently a bunch of Civil War gold that the Warden knows about and some of the inmates have colloidal silver in their blood to increase healing capacity.

I thought both of last night's episodes were really good. Although, the whole "buried alive" thing is one of my worst fears!

Theo Rossi was badass as Burnett.
Im thinking EB crossed the warden someway and he sent Jack to kill him.

I like the last two eps, but man are they being stingy on given us anything about the mysery! Instead of giving us al ine about it every few eps, why not dedicate at least 5 minutes an ep to it? It seems that the two leads aren't very interested in knowing why/how they're coming back either; all they care about is catching them....

I think the next ep will be the real first step into the overall arch of the series.
They have an innocent prisoner and somehow they transform him into the killer he was suspected to be.

Either way, I'll say that I'd rather Fringe get a 5th season than Alcatraz get a 2nd one.
