Default Cast the Star Trek: TNG Reboot

While not as iconic, Star Trek The Next Generation is probably just as popular for my generation as The Original Series is. After the new movie, I had a lot of my friends ask where the bald guy or the robot or the guy with the weird forehead were. And if a lot of my friends felt that way, I'm sure there are a lot more people out there who view TNG as the same thing as TOS. So, I don't think it's completely out of the question to expect a TNG reboot in our lifetime. It it a sure thing? No, but there's always a chance.

If this is were to be done today, who would you cast? Personally, I'd like to see Jason Isaacs as Picard and Michael Emerson as Q. Not sure about some of the others though.

Its hard to reboot this, as most of the cast would be able to reprise their roles. That said, I like Jason Isaacs as Picard. Alternatively, maybe Alan Rickman. I know the look is a bit different, but it would be fun to see Rickman play against type and I think he'd nail the role. Perhaps Michael C. Hall as Riker?

but then I read "Jason Isaacs", and I nodded in surprised approval.

James McAvoy as the young Picard.

Might as well bring it full circle...

I would love to see an actual Frenchman play Picard, but I can't for the life of me think of any that could capture the essence of Picard the way Patrick Stewart did. Anyone I could think of would be either too pretty, too goofy, or too menacing.

Except maybe . . . .Vincent Perez. Yeah, that could work.

Cpt. Jean-Luc Picard - Vincent Perez
Commander William Riker - Adam Baldwin
Lt. Worf - Kevin Greivoux
Data - Jude Law
Gordi LeForge - Columbus Short
Deanna Troi - Monica Gabriela Curnen
Dr. Crusher - Melinda McGraw

+ Tasha Yar - Ali Larter
Picard: Jean Reno

I'm not really good at these sort of casting topics. I'm also not sure if those actors should imitate the original roles or re-interpret them.

They should kill off Counselor Troi in the first 5 minutes and replace her with someone interesting .

Well, we certainly have to find someone annoying for Wesley.

So many young actors to choose from......

That will be kinda creepy.

And then he can talk to Patrick Steward like the young Spock talked to Nimoy

They should adapt the Countdown comic.
