So I've just realized. Before "Blurred Lines," Robin Thicke was still a little under the radar but well respected. Nobody ever thought ill of the man. After "Blurred Lines," people think he is a massive tool and a chauvinist.

I think the fact that he has four previous albums filled to the brim with songs that are respectful toward women while "Blurred Lines" is his only #1 hit says more about the music-buying public than him. This was his big appeal to the lowest common denominator, and they took the bait like crazy.

I've loved Robin for a very long time... It's pretty eerie seeing how big he is now. For the first time ever, I truly know what it's like to be a hipster, only I actually am one by accident.

Blurred Lines makes me want to hurl, but his older stuff is really good. He's got pure talent.

Respect for women in music basically equates to never having your **** heard. Even rock songs know that.

Robin Thicke, Paula Patton split after eight years of marriage

The longtime couple, who met when they were teenagers, have decided to part ways.

Robin Thicke (l.) and actress Paula Patton attend the 56th Grammy Awards at Staples Center on Jan. 26 in Los Angeles, Calif. They announced Monday that they’ve decided to separate.

The blurred lines in Robin Thicke and Paula Patton’s marriage have seemingly cleared.

The longtime couple are ending their marriage, reports People.

“We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time,” they said in a joint statement to the mag on Monday.

Paula Patton and Robin Thicke were married in 2005 and have now announced their separation.

The “Blurred Lines” singer met Patton when he was just 14 and they became high school sweethearts. The parents to three-year-old son Julian Fuego Thicke got married on June 11, 2005.

The pair were all smiles when they attended the Grammy Awards on Jan. 26 despite multiple reports of his infidelity.

At the beginning of the year Thicke, 36, was seen cozying up to an unidentified woman at a Paris nightclub. The "Give it 2 U" singer reportedly danced the night away at Club 79 in the French city and kept the company of a woman who was certainly not Patton.

Robin Thicke and Paula Patton have one son, Julian, 3, together.

Back in August he was also seen engaging in naughty behavior. That time he was partying at a New York hotspot following his highly sexualized MTV Video Music Awards performance with Miley Cyrus. At 1Oak he posed for what initially appeared to be an innocent photo with a fan, which she later posted online. But with a closer look the mirror reflection in the snapshot shows Thicke's hand grabbing the young woman's backside as he smiles for the camera.

He described his marriage to 38-year-old "2 Guns" actress Patton as "the greatest love of the century, and the most functional, dysfunctional marriage in Hollywood," to Star magazine.

Robin Thicke has been known to engage in some questionable behavior for a married man. Now he’s heading toward the single life.

Thicke even said his controversal hit single, which was pegged for copyright infringement of a Marvin Gaye classic, was actually about Patton.
"I don't think people got it," he told BBC's Newsbeat, according to the Daily Mail. "I wrote it about my wife … she's my good girl. And I know she wants it because we've been together for 20 years."

While there's no confirmation whether infidelity was the cause of their breakup, his rumored extramatrial affairs have been widely talked about.
"Some of our individual goals still haven't been realized," he told USA Today in July about his relationship with Patton. "But we have a healthy child. We're madly, crazily in love."

it's cheaper to keep her. Submit to whatever counseling is necessary, Robin. His dad Alan, is working on, what, his third marriage? And if it's his last, bravo. But it might not be a look to go the same route as dad.

Maybe they need a cooling off, once they everything settled, we'll see them back together again.
