The first season is only 6 episodes, so it's a nice tight story. The finale is particularly good with action. As for the American version, I have no idea how identical the story will be, nor how many episodes will be in this season.

I'm kind of enjoying this show also. It is a bit slow in the flow of the narrative though.

Initially I was taken aback when Josh called Sally a monster during their touching talk. But then I thought about how Josh views his situation (being a werewolf) and it hit me how bad these people have it.

I hope as the season progresses Aiden and Josh are able to touch Sally. I really liked that about the BBC show. I also really like Bishop. He is a mysterious character and I think the actor (Mark Pelligrino) who plays him is great.

'Being Human' skins MTV's 'Skins' (so says SyFy!)

Oh man, this is war: Syfy tried to make hay of the anti-Skins sentiment today by saying its new scripted drama Being Human “skinned” the competition, including week two of the MTV drama.

Monday’s episode of Being Human grew 9 percent over its premiere episode last week in total viewers (to 2.14 million), and another 21% in adults 18-49 (to 1.21 million). More importantly to SyFy, it outperformed the second episode of Skins by a margin of 41 percent in adults 18-49, 182 percent in adults 25-54 and 35 percent in total viewers. (Good job, Syfy — except MTV wants those pimply-faced viewers south of 30, right?)

Speaking of which, the Human episode attracted 575,000 adults ages 18-34 and 614,000 women 18-49 — the network’s best performance in the demo for a SyFy original since Warehouse 13 on July 28, 2009. Being Human continues to represent SyFy’s most successful winter series launch since Battlestar Galactica in January, 2005.

Being Human follows three roommates — a vampire, a ghost, and a werewolf — who attempt to lead normal lives

What your bringing up a failed program that nobody watched from 12 years ago as an example of us remaking US shows. We do it once a blue moon whereas you lot seem to do it evey month.

I watched the British Being Human and enjoyed it a lot. The American one appears to be pretty much identical so far, so I'm also curious about why they remade it. Seems a lot more expensive than just importing the original.

I'm liking this version enough. Don't want to start comparing it to the original just yet. Only complaint I have is that its on bloody Syfy (I hate that network...).

The American George is a step-up...FAR less whiny.
The American Mitchell? Not NEARLY as cool.

That's hard to deny, but what puts the American ghost above the UK ghost for me is, UK Annie just didn't feel much like a ghost to me, even an unusual ghost; maybe that changes in later episodes.

US!Annie being more like a ghost is nice, but I miss Annie's obsession with making tea. Another thing I miss, is the humor that UK!Being Human has.

This was a great second episode. I'm enjoying this show right now but I hope it will be different then the bbc one storywise.

So thats 3 new American shows just starting that are remakes of British shows, Being Human, Skins and Shameless. Wow US TV land is really creative........

I imagine the studio wants to use their own/American stars (seeing them as more bankable, perhaps over here?)

Also I'm sure there will be general culture reference/humor differences between the two versions which could be seen as potentially hurting the popularity/longevity to the general public....who knows.

I have really enjoyed the USA version so far....never was able to catch the original version.
